And remember she was the one to take his name instinctively when Maithili was kidnapped so she knows he can be trusted...she knows why he is doing what he is doing...he is not in love with her and hasn't misled her into thinking that he is mellowing towards her...she knows he will intimidate her till he gets her to sign!
About the ignoring for some romantic scenes and crying rape for others...seriously couldn't agree more...why was the chai scene ok...because he got caught in her beauty..!
Why was the sindoor rasam so 'symbolic' that it had oohs and aahs as reactions and not these protests...?
Why was the ghunghat scene romantic...same guy...same conversation...same defiance from her...

When he took the slap why was it indicative of his 'care' for her...??

I didn't see any sexual overtones in that scene whatsoever...he wasn't sexually intimidating her at all...in fact when she first caught hs collar about the marriage he said if she doesn't sign he will marry her and keel her like raddi in his house..! He didn't say he would shw her what he could do with a husbands rights on her then!
Subsequently he himself is trying to stop the marriage with whatever means he can...intimidation yes...scaring her yes...but sexual abuse...definitely not!

@blue: Exactly...

The story is dark in nature to begin with...desperation and extreme circumstances bind these two characters together. I understand that everyone has their own interpretation of where they draw the line so to speak but to me physical intimidation is more offensive than mind games and Rudra was more predatory in scenes like the necklace one IMO...but those scenes were chosen to be interpreted as his protectiveness and caring. As a character he will have many sides to him...there is the side willing to take a slap for her and there is the side that will manipulate and intimidate her...he's mercurial as a character...there is innocence in his eyes one moment, shrewdness next...on a conscious level he's using physical proximity to spook her even though he knows it's a low trick but on a subconscious level, his protectiveness and attraction towards her is interfering with his tricks.

I won't say the final mehendi scene didn't have sexual tones to it, it did...but how is it that a Rudra forcing Paro to put the mehendi on her hands as a medicine is considered abusive but a Paro trying to put haldi on his wound without his consent isn't? Because she's the dainty woman in this equation? They both stubbornly want to do their will whether the other agrees to it or not...Rudra knew that Paro would never let him put medicine on her hands otherwise and in that moment his objective was both to soothe the burns and to make the significance of the ritual hit home for her...I saw it as a continuation of the sindoor scene...so if the sindoor scene can be gushed so much over, why not this scene?

Rudra is predatory in nature...everything he does will have that tone underscoring it...it is not going to be painted in rosy hues to make it a fairytale that easily...and I guess the lack of rosy tones has disturbed some people...otherwise I think the last mehendi scene had tones of both tenderness as well as awareness in it, that's it...the way the mehendi was put on her symbolized the attraction that is simmering b/w them...and he is RANGRasiya after all...had to color her somehow.😆

EXACTLY!!! Well said!!! Paro isn't leaving him with any options. He is simply executing his plan step by step hoping to achieve the result of breaking of Paro with warning issued to her every step of the way. Paro is just too blind to see it all. In real life if there is a man like Rudra or does what Rudra did without any valid reason then he would need to be put behind bars. Here in the serial Rudra has a purpose to achieve and he isn't doing it for his own glory of winning more medals or for the heck of it. He is a true patriot and hence wants Tejawat behind the bars and he cares for his BSD family, probably more than his own, to not let the sacrifice of his soldiers go waste. What's wrong with that? He is simply achieving this or trying his best given Paro's stubbornness. The woman is a typical woman who thinks of only her family, her marriage, her husband and nothing beyond that even though she claims to be as much patriotic as Rudra. But there is a difference between the two.

I am glad you pointed that out. Rudra shouted that at her too she is selfish it is all about her and her life. There are many differences between the two but this could be the main one. I think Rudra has not lived for himself and has lived for his country so for him it is natural to think of others before himself. Rudra has lived in the world has seen its cruel reality and he knows how precious life and honour is, he understands some things more than Paro does because he knows how hard it is to find acceptance and love, and all those thad died that day under his command their families won't accept that he failed he must restore their faith not just in BSD but him too. This reminds me of a few good men, where Jack Nicklaus poignantly points out how the army functions, have you put your faith in another man's hands, you don't question your commanders orders while facing death because if you die your death will have meaning because he was right, but if that faith is broken who still stand post who will guard and protect the innocent. For Rudra this isn't just about Tejawat as a leader he made a call and sacrifices were made many more battles are yet to come what happens if the army loses their faith in this fight, if no one is willing to stand behind him you are handing over victory to the bad guys.

Paro is a simple minded girl she wanted a happy home, husband, kids and family life her dreams revolve around her only and what she wants, she is not capable of looking at the bigger picture as she has never gone past her comfort zone. If Paro wants to be a true army man's wife she too will learn to think like Rudra that there is a world beyond your own existence and it is not just about you all the time.
