Great Depiction of Punjabi Culture

I just want to give the makers of this serial props for depicting a very real Punjabi culture. One of the reason's I love this serial is that it never goes over-board with it's stereotypes. I feel like they've made this serial very realistic compared to a lot of the other serials and that is why we love it so much. I respect this serial a lot. I don't want to diss out any other serial, but I've seen other serials where they depict Punjabi's as drinker's etc. I really am glad that they show an accurate depiction of what Pind life is like.

They show how rural communities like Pinds have people with the same morals, culture, out-look on life, and how tight-knit they are together. For example when Veera is told it's not okay to hug a boy-friend in the Pind, or when Ranvi took Gunjan to that forest area and he was told that's not okay in the Pind; that is very accurate to the rule's of a Pind. I'm really glad they didn't go a long with the stereotyped Punjabi image, that Punjabi's love to drink, party, be loud, and are rude.

Also I think the characters are very realistic as well. Even Bansuri is a very realistic character. I respect how they respect Punjabi's people's values and culture. It's nice to see one serial that's got it right. I hope this serial lasts a very long time, and never ends I love it so much!

i think the entire pind set up is the best thing in the show.. moreover they are not stuck to just one place in every scene.. like in some shows we forever see just one bunglow or house.. but here we get a lot of out side scenes plus multiple houses.. so it is very refreshing to watch..
and yeah all characters are quite realistic and also connecting for me.. wether they are good bad white grey.. i find them all good..
and in all this they really weave so many innovative tracks and scenes.. which is most interesting actually..
i think we are getting to see different characters apart from the kind of ones we see in all shows..

I am quite new to Indian TV. Also I am not of Indian origin. The first Indian TV show I followed was IPKKND. I have glanced at a few other shows here and there including EHMMBH and now I watch Qubool Hain and Saraswatichandra.

What struck me about Veera was that it was a rural setting. I had always expected to see women in heavy jewellery like shows like SNS, YRKKH, DABH some other shows on SP. I found their depictions a bit over the top and I thought most Indian shows were like that. One reason I liked IPKKND was that it was not a Saas Bahu show! The story was about the couple and even the other characters were very interesting.

Veera was a very fresh change from all Indian shows I had seen. First it was a village setting, then it was centred around kids. The kids were SO adorable and talented that I started to get attracted to the show. My aunt who was living with me at the time was watching it. I didn't know much about the story but the RANVEERA bond looked special to me, so I started to watch it. Then of course I saw Ratan and Nihal and was hoping for their romance to work out! I was very mad when it didn't!

I was truly charmed by the total rural setting, the lack of high drama and theatrics. The realistic clothing, the depiction of village culture etc. I had never seen a Panjabi village and my knowledge of Punjabi's come mostly from BW movies which are so OTT. I knew a few Punjabi's at university, and they were not really like that! So I am happy that this show is in such a different setting.

Half the charm of Veera is in the fact that it is set in a Pind! Love this show so much!! Kudos to the makers for trying something new, and doing it so well.

Yeah I totally agree that's what sets thus show apart 😉 there are no other characters no heavy makeup jewelry nor dragging tracks! Everything is kept realistic and the true essence of pind is kept! I think the cvs have put in a lot of hard work in this show and portraying its so superbly 👏 .. All the backgrounds and location are wonderfully shot and there is freshness in this show ⭐️ .. After ages I am liking a show thanks to the entire cast crew of veera

nice post 😃 😊

I also wanted to add that I really like how they respect all the different religions in this serial. I know it's main focus is Punjabi's but I like how they still respect Hindu's, and Muslims. It is needed for them to do this in serials, because people of many different background's watch this show. I really like how they don't over-do it or show to much about a religion to where it can become ignorant or wrong but they do it in a right way, where theirs no complaints.
