For people saying that rape is a reality of metros or the consequence of stubborn modern girls not listening to elders, I'll point you to the recent newsreport about a tribal girl subjected to gangrape by the decree of panchayat. Rape has nothing to do with a place or girls wanting to be modern. A criminal intent on committing a crime will find a way to do so. Statistics also point that most rapes are committed within a household by a person or persons known to the girl.

BV's blanket judgement of urban women and urban lifestyles irritates me. I hate this as much as I hate the deification of the perfect woman ideal.

I completely disagree Sanchi got it upon herself because of her "immature" actions. She misjudged the guy she thinks loves her. She trusts the guy! Wrongly, yes, but a lot of us misjudge wrongly.

ohh no...its so sad! agree Sanchi was a very black charecter but no one ever wanted her to be punished this way...this is too much of a punishment ...
maybe they will now highlight the rave parties, date rape drug and MMS scandals that are rampant in our country...
but i would hate it if BV send a message that this is again just a result of city upbringing...agree all the above mentioned things happen majorly in cities...but its not just because a city girl is as such.
and Sanchi is not completely at fault here...she trusted the guy and thought he is in love with her as she is...he mistake being - she should have paid heed to her bhabhi and got alerted after his advances on her at her home...she was resistant then...and he too pressing...that should have been the trigger...but then this is also a harsh reality than we do flow in our emotions and trust the people we think we love ...

This is absolutely shocking!!!!! ... irrespective of what kind of person she is 😲
Was this the sole reason behind the character Sanchi ??? 🤢

The guy dared to commit the crime despite knowing the fact that she is a district collector's sister, and that her family will take each and every step to punish her assualters. Is there no fear left for laws in today's society?

If CVs want to convey any social message through this, I want them to show the guy getting punished for his act. Though, through the court case the family has to go through a lot of pain, still they should not be shy of taking the matter to court.

I think showing sanchi getting raped now after all her bad acts was a wrong move by CVs, if they want to show any message on Rape😕. Now generally ppl would condemn sanchi and think of it as a punishment for her bad behaviour. CVs again did big mistake in this , just as they brought Gauri in after Jagya-Anandi becoming adults and then consummating their marriage. Their child marriage message went out of the window. They could have showed very easily that Anandi was in her Maayka and Jagya went for his studies and fell in love gauri or any other girl. There they could have clearly given a message against Child marriage. But they made it seem more like marital infedility and wayward behaviour.

True. The timing is bad, especially when coming right on the heels of Sanchi cursing Ganga and wishing for her (and her unborn's) death. That act made Sanchi unforgivably vicious and now her falling victim to rape would definitely make it seem like a well-deserved punishment in the eyes of many. And I won't blame them to be honest, its difficult to sympathise with somebody like Sanchi even with acknowledging the kind of dastardly act Rape is.
