Tu mera hero Part 1

This story is set after Veera finds out that she is Ranvi's half sister.

Veera was upset, still trying to come to terms with the fact that her dearest veerji, Ranvi was her half brother.

Baldev was driving by in his jeep when he saw Veera walking aimlessly, and it looked like she was crying.

Baldev: "Pind di sherni nu kya hogya? Aise muh latkake kyu chal rahi hai?"

Baldev didn't know why but he didn't feel like leaving Veera alone in this state.

Baldev: "Oi, Veera, ruk! Kahan ja rahin hai tu?"

Veera (thinking to herself): "Yeh mainu ki ho raha hai? Mainu Baldev ki awaaz kyu sunai de rahi hai?"

Veera ignored Baldev and continued walking. Baldev tried again, unable to understand why Veera was not responding. Finally Baldev ran and caught up with Veera and held her hand, to turn her towards him.

Baldev: "Veera, tenu ki hoya? Tu aise udaas hokar kyun chal rahi hai?"

Veera: "Baldev, mainu akela chad. Main kisise baat nahin karna chahti."

Baldev noticed Veera was crying.

Baldev: "Veera, bata...ki hoya? Kyun roh rahi hai tu?"

Before Baldev could react, Veera hugged him. Baldev was so surprised that it took him a minute to realize that he should hug Veera back. And he did. Baldev could feel Veera's tears falling on his kurta, which was starting to become wet as a result.

Veera: "Tujhe pata hai, aaj mainu apne baare mein ek bada sach pata chala? Jis beeji nu main apni beeji maante aayi hoon, voh toh meri beeji hi nahin hai. Veerji aur meri beeji alag hai. Aur mujhe aaj hi yeh baat pata chali Gunjan didi se."

Baldev was shocked. He had already known about Veera's biological mother, but he had kept quiet. He didn't know and understand why his blood began to boil and he was getting angry at his own sister, Gunjan for revealing the truth to Veera.

Baldev tried to act like he didn't know.

Baldev: "Accha, sach?"

Baldev wasn't convincing enough. Veera knew Baldev was lying to her right away.

Veera (a little angry, broke away from the hug and looked at Baldev): "Baldev, tujhe yeh baat pata thi? Sach bata, teri beeji ki kasam khaake keh?"

Baldev (thinking to himself): "Arre, ab yeh Veera ne kya keh diya? Mainu beeji di kasam dedi?"

Veera: "Baldev...sach bata!"

Baldev: "Haan, mainu yeh pata tha ki Ratan chaiji teri asli maa nahin hai, koi aur hai. Lekin maine tujhe nahin bataya kyunki tujhe bahut dukh hota, aur Ratan chaiji tujhse bahut pyaar karti hai."

Veera had had enough. She started to walk away from Baldev, upset that he had kept such a big secret from her.

Baldev: "Veera, ruk, ab tu kahan ja rahi hai? Chal..main tenu ghar chod deta hoon?"

Veera (scoffed at Baldev): "Ghar, kaun sa ghar? Meri vajah se voh ghar toot chooka hai."

Baldev had had enough. He had to talk sense into Veera.

Baldev: "Tu ki keh rahi hai? Voh ghar hamesha tera ghar rahega. Aur Ranvi hamesha tere veerji rahenge. Ratan chaiji bhi teri beeji hai. Tujhe voh dono kitna pyaar karte hai. Aur galti teri nahin hai. Jinki galti hai, voh dono log ab yahan nahin hai."

Before Baldev realized that he had said too much, it was too late. Veera whirled around and looked at Baldev with her eyes wide in shock.

Veera: "Tu mere papaji ke baare mein aise kaise keh sakta hai?"

Baldev: "Veera, mainu voh matlab nahin tha. Mera matlab yeh tha ki yeh sab teri galti nahin hai. Tu kyun apne aap ko dosh de rahi hai? Ab bas hogya. Bahut roliya tune. Chal ab main tujhe ghar chod kar hi rahunga."

Baldev grabbed Veera's arm and held her tight, to make sure that she didn't run away this time. Surprisingly, this time Veera didn't protest. She silently followed Baldev to his jeep, still in tears.

After Baldev dropped Veera home, Baldev came back home determined to speak to Gunjan.

Baldev: "Gunjan, Gunjan, kithe gai hai tu? Yahan neeche a?"

Gunjan didn't understand why her veerji was sounding mad.

Gunjan: "Kya hua veerji? Aap itne pareshaan kyun dikh rahe hai?"

Baldev: "Kyun kiya tune aisa? Tujhe pata hai Veera kitni toot chooki hai, voh sara din roh rahi thi. Mujhe use ghar lane kitna kuch karna pada, taki voh manjai. Tune apna muh kyu khola Veera ki asli beeji ke baari mein?"

Gunjan: "Veerji, yeh aap keh rahe hai? Aap vahi veerji hai na jisne Veera ko tabele mein baand kar rakha taki voh meri shaadi ko rok na sake. Toh phir ab aap Veera ki tarafdaari kyun kar rahe hai?"

Baldev: "Tune accha nahin kiya Gunjan. Mujhe tujhse yeh umeed nahin thi!"

By this time, Bansuri arrived having heard most of the conversation.

Bansuri: "Baldev puttar, Gunjan ne kya galat kiya? Veera ko ek na ek din sachaiyi pata chalni thi. Tu Gunjan par kyun gussa ho raha hai. Kahin...tu Veera se pyaar toh nahin karne laga hai?"

Baldev was shocked by what his beeji had just accused him of.

Baldev: "Kya beeji, aap theek toh hai? Main aur Veera se...kabhi nahin. Voh toh dost hone ke naate main uski madad kar raha tha."

Gunjan: "Dost?"

Baldev didn't realize that he had actually referred to Veera as his friend for the first time.

Baldev (thinking to himself): "Yeh mainu ki ho raha hai?"

Before Baldev said anything more that might get him in trouble, he walked away in anger and frustration.

That night...

Baldev saw Veera again. This time, she was dressed in a nice pink kurta and jeans, and she was heading towards the cliff.

Baldev: "Veera, ab kahan ja rahi hai tu?"

Baldev ran after Veera, trying to catch up to her, but he couldn't. She was surprisingly walking much faster than him. Before Baldev could get a hold of Veera, she was already at the edge of the cliff.

Veera: "Baldev, mat rok mujhe. Isme hi sab ki bhalai hai. Bhool ja mujhe."

Baldev couldn't believe what was happening.

Baldev: "Veera, nahin, tu nahin ja sakti. Mera kya hoga? Aur teri beeji, veerji, aur chaiji?"

Veera: "Mujhe maaf kar de Baldev."

That was the last Baldev heard from Veera, and then she jumped.

Baldev: "Nahin..mat ja Veera. Tu hum sab ko chod kar nahin ja sakti. Mera kya hoga."

Baldev suddenly woke up, sweating profusely. He was in his room, and the sun was just starting to rise outside. Without realizing, Baldev gave a huge sigh of relief, knowing that it was all just a bad dream.

Baldev: " Yeh menu ki hoya? Rabji, aapka shukar hai ki voh ek bura sapna tha. Lekin mainu yeh ki ho raha hai. Kyun mujhe Veera ki yaad aa rahi hai har baar?"

Part 2

The next day...

Veera was getting ready to go out, when she saw Ranvi coming back from the farm. After Gunjan's revelation, Veera and Ranvi's interactions had become awkward. Ranvi spent majority of the time outside of the house busy in the farm or doing other work. Ratan had noticed and was really upset with everything that was happening, and so was Chaiji.

Ranvi gave a small smile at Veera. Veera gave a small smile back. Before Veera could say anything, Ranvi went and spoke to Ratan.

Ranvi: "Beeji, aap ko koi aur kaam hai? Mainu bataiye, main ja ke kar deta hoon."

Ratan: "Nahin Ranvi, sab kuch ho gaya hai. Veera ab bazaar ja rahi hai."

Ranvi: "Theek hai beeji, main apne kamre main ja raha hoon."

Once Ranvi left, Ratan turned towards Veera.

Ratan: "Veera, mainu tujhse baat karni hai."

Veera: "Ji beeji, bataiye?"

Now that Veera knew the truth, she didn't know if she still had the right to refer to Ratan as her beeji.

Ratan: "Veera..mainu pata hai ki tujhe aur Ranvi nu bahut bada jhatka laga hai sach jaan kar, lekin tu meri ek baat sun. Pehle main tujhe apna nahin payi yeh soch kar ki tu Sampooran ji ki aur ek doosri aurat ki beti hai, lekin ab nahin. Tujhe pata hai jab tu sheher gayi thi padhai karne, main tere baare mein hamesha sochti thi aur Ranvi toh tu janti hai. Voh apni choti behen ke bina adhoora hai. Jo hua voh teri galti nahin hai. Maine tujhe aur tere papaji nu maaf kar diya hai. Tu chinta mat kar. Ranvi ko kuch din akela rehne de. Main usse baat karungi aur samjhaungi. Tu meri bahadur beti hai na."

Veera got really emotional hearing Ratan referring to her as her daughter. Tears began trickling down Veera's face and she hugged Ratan. Ratan was surprised and awkward at first, but then she smiled and hugged Veera back. Finally Veera got the love and warmth from her beeji that she had yearned for all these years.

When Veera got out of the house to go to the market, she was surprised to see Baldev waiting outside. But then again, she had been surprised when Baldev had called her earlier and asked her what her plans were for the day.Baldev was looking really handsome wearing a nice blue kurta with jeans.

Baldev: "Akhir tu bahar aa hi gayi. Ab chal main tujhe bazaar chod deta hoon."

Veera: "Oi, ki keh raha hai tu? Main akele chali jaungi, mujhe bodyguard ki zaroorat nahin hai."

Baldev: "Arre nahin, main tujhe akele jaane nahin de sakta, khas kar ki kal raat ke bure sapne ke baad."

Veera (puzzled): "Sapna? Tu kab se mere sapne dekhne laga? Tu theek toh hai?"

Baldev realized what he said and felt like kicking himself.

Baldev: "Voh mera matlab hai ki kal tujhe bahut chot pahunchi thi na Gunjan ki vajah se sach jaan kar. Isliye main ek dost ke naate tujhe akela nahin chod sakta."

Veera realized that there was no point in arguing. Baldev was not going to give in easily.

Veera: "Accha, theek hai, chal."

Veera couldn't help but smile. Baldev noticed.

Baldev (thinking to himself): "Meri pind di sherni ki muskurahat vapas agai."

Then Baldev realized that he referred to Veera as his.

Baldev (without thinking said aloud): "Meri Veera?"

Veera heard Baldev and looked puzzled.

Veera: "Kya kahan tune Baldev?"

Baldev became bright red with embarrassment for having said that aloud.

Baldev: "Voh kuch nahin. Voh main bas aise hi soch raha tha."

Veera and Baldev went to the market, with Baldev watching over Veera the whole time. Veera didn't mind.

On their way back...

Baldev: "Mainu tujhe kuch dikhana hai. Tu dekh kar khush ho jaigi."

Veera was curious to know what Baldev wanted to show her.

Veera: "Accha, kya hai yeh jo tu mujhe dikhana chahta hai? Mainu ab dekhna hai. Chal, aur tez chal."

Baldev smiled.

Baldev (teasing Veera): "Tujhe kya hum dono ko voh kya kehte hai... surprise dekhne se pehle hi marwana hai kya, aur upar bhejna hai kya, ke itni tez chalane ko keh rahi hai."

Veera laughed and lightly punched Baldev on the shoulder. Suddenly Baldev and Veera felt the jeep making sounds and it came to an abrupt stop.

Baldev: "Yeh ki hoya? Gaddi aise kaise ruk gayi?"

Veera looked anxious.

Veera: "Baldev, tera surprise jaye bhaad mein! Tune gas nahin bhari thi kya?"

Baldev(irritated): "Arre, kal hi toh maine bhar diya tha. Ek minute, main tire dekh ta hoon."

Sure enough when Baldev looked at the tires, one tire had gone flat. He looked in the back of his jeep for a spare tire. There was none.

Veera: "Baldev, ab hum kya karenge?"

Baldev: "Tu fikar mat kar. Main madad mangunga."

Baldev tried to get people's attention driving by to stop their car to help him, but no one was stopping. Veera got an idea.

Veera: "Ek minute Baldev. Tu chod, main madad mangungi."

Baldev moved to the side and noticed Veera applying lipstick and touching up her face before standing with one hand on her hip and the other waving to get help. Baldev noticed and smiled. Before they knew it, a car with two guys stopped.

Baldev's jaw dropped. He couldn't believe it. Because of Veera, they finally got someone to stop for them and give them a ride.

Guy in the car: "Kahiye, aap ko kahan jana hai?"

Veera and Baldev noticed both guys were looking at Veera in a creepy way, but they needed a ride, and it was already quite late.

Veera: "Voh actually main aur mere pati apne pind, Pritampura vapas jana chahte hai, lekin hamari gaadi kharaab ho gayi. Kya aap humein vapas chod sakte ho?"

Baldev was shocked to hear Veera refer to him as her husband, and for some reason, he felt really happy and warm inside.

Veera smiled at Baldev and winked at him, letting him know that he should go along with this act.

Guy in the car: "Haan, zaroor chaliye."

The other guy in the guy was now not interested in talking to Veera after she told them that Baldev is her husband. When Baldev and Veera sat in the car, Baldev put his arm around Veera to pretend like they were an actual married couple.

Veera (muttering to Baldev): "Tenu nahin lagta ki yeh kuch zyada hi ho raha hai."

Baldev (muttering to Veera): "Chup kar! Main teri izzat bachane ke liye kar raha hoon. Varna voh doosra aadmi tujhse badtameezi karega. Tune dekha voh tujhe kaise dekh raha tha pehle."

Veera couldn't help but feel happy and had a warm feeling inside seeing Baldev being all protective.

Finally, they were dropped back to Pritampura. Veera and Baldev thanked the two men and then they drove away. Baldev didn't realize that he still had his arm around Veera. Veera looked at Baldev, pointing towards his arm. Baldev realized and quickly moved his arm away from Veera. Veera smiled.

Veera saw Ranvi, who looked relieved and happy to see her.

Veera: "Veerji?"

Ranvi, forgetting about what happened earlier went to Veera, and was about to hug her, relieved to see her home, when he suddenly stopped, remembering why he had been awkward with Veera since yesterday. Before Veera could say anything, Ranvi walked away.

Baldev noticed all this and was upset to see Veera hurt.

Baldev (thinking to himself): "Ab mainu hi kuch karna padega!"
