Devoleena Bhattacharjee takes legal action against online trolls targeting her son’s skin colour

Devoleena Bhattacharjee celebrated her son Joy's seven-month birthday with some adorable pictures. However, a segment of the internet responded with racial comments about the infant's skin tone. Some users even attacked his father, suggesting the skin tone was inherited from him. Following the online negativity, the actress has taken legal action. She shared screenshots of the hateful comments on her Instagram story and filed a cyber crime case.

Devoleena revealed over two thousand negative comments about her son. She shared her conversation with Cyber Crime India, seeking support, and posted chats with individuals who made hateful remarks. The actress has taken a strong stance against the online negativity.

One of her posts read, “Ab kya kahu. 8900+ comments. Inmein se agar 2000 bhi negative assume karu, phir bhi 7k positive comments hain. Thank you all for all the love, prayers, blessings & protections for my child. This means a lot. Also, a request to all mothers — always take a stand against bullies and trolls, especially when it comes to your child. Be the strongest shield. Bohot kuch likhna chahti hoon, but I am overwhelmed. Literally feeling like koi war jeet li hoon. Once again, thank you all and special mention to @indiancyberpolice — thank you.”

A user responded to her post, writing,“How dare they make such a remark against a tiny baby who is just 7 months old? Thank you for taking a stand and being an example and hope for others who will carry this strength to stand for themselves when needed.”

Devoleena Bhattacharjee, known for her role as Gopi Bahu in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, achieved widespread recognition. She later ventured into reality TV, appearing in Bigg Boss seasons 13, 14, and 15.

Devoleena surprised fans in December 2022 by marrying Shahnawaz Shaikh, her long-time friend and a gym trainer, in a private court ceremony. Last year, Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Shanwaz Shaikh became parents. The actress welcomed a baby boy with her husband on December 18.

Devoleena shared a sweet video on Instagram a day later to announce the happy news. The note read, "Thrilled to announce the arrival of our bundle of joy, our Baby Boy. Elated parents Devoleena and Shanwaz."
