Chapter 1 - The First Meeting

She was on her way home as usual only thing was that she was running late today , the meeting had taken much time than she expected . Now she would have to catch the 6.30 pm bus as she missed her usual 5.30 pm bus .

The clouds were getting darker indicating that it's going to rain soon . The bus stop is empty today . Maybe I should have taken a taxi instead She thought . She kept checking on her watch , it was showing a quarter to seven but the bus has yet to arrive .

Something felt wrong , her mind was warning her and she began to feel fear creeping in her . She was all alone in that empty bus stop , the bus was late , there was no sight of anyone nearby and it was pouring heavily outside . Then she saw a man running towards the bus stop for shelter , he was all drenched because of the rain .

She tighten the hold of her handbag fearing that the man will grab it from her not knowing who that man really was . The man saw this and a smirk crept on his lips . She looked at her watch again , it was 7 pm still the bus has yet to arrive .

Where is that stupid bus ?! Arrgh why did I not take the taxi instead , I would have reach home by now .This is all that stupid boss's fault , if only he hadn't been busy flirting with his secretary the files wouldn't have been misplaced and the meeting would have started earlier if most of our time weren't wasted in searching for those files . And I wouldn't have to be here waiting for that damn 6.30 pm bus that is nowhere to be found ! She vented all her frustrations for all the happenings of the day ...

Meanwhile the man beside her was looking at her . Her facial expressions was changing by every second from anger to disappointment to fear to the point where she hit her forehead thinking of her foolishness for not taking a cab home . He was smiling upon seeing her change of expressions .

This is the first time he had ever met a girl like her . She's different from all the other woman I've met . And to think that she mistook me for a thief , doesn't she know who I am ? Just the thought of it was enough to make him chuckle . His chuckle caught her attention , she turned around and looked at him for the first time .

A pair of confuse dark brown eyes peered at him .

Why was he laughing ? She thought Oh no ! Could it be that he saw me hitting my forehead ? How embarrassing ! Jodha what are you doing and that too infront of a stranger ? You must be out of your mind ! A flush of pink raced to her cheeks . She immediately lowered her gaze as she felt embarassed and he turned towards the other side of the bus stop as he felt awkward .

As she lowered her gaze she didn't miss out on seeing him wearing an immaculate business suit . He must be very rich if he could afford such an expensive suits and polished shoes . And he looks ... Wait how does he look like ? She thought . She lifted her eyes and looked at him . He's quite good looking , short dark brown hair and he is of fair complexion , clean-shaved and lean , bout perhaps 6 feet in height or so , nose that are perfectly symmetrical ... And she continued "studying" the stranger .

Meanwhile the stranger was aware that she was looking at him but decided to ignore her ... He had already embarrass her earlier and he didn't want to do it again . A sudden gust of wind blew her dupatta away , it flew and landed on his face covering his face . As he remove the dupatta to clear his view , his eyes met with hers and they had an eyelock .

Her long lashes over those beautiful expressive eyes surrounded by a dark black line of eye liner drew all his attention to it . As he slowly "studied" her from top to bottom , he saw that she had a long silky , flowy hair that falls till her waist , her forehead adorned with a light green rhinestone bindi . Her lips that was oh so kissable and those curve of her body . She was not holding on to her handbag any longer . She has a payal around each of her ankle and she was wearing a light green anarkali suit . Green , my favourite colour he thought and smiled .

She was still looking at his face . She had only seen his face by the side view earlier . Now that she saw his whole face she found him to be very good looking perhaps too good looking that it felt as though he had just walked out of a fairy tale . He had a pair of mysterious dark brown eyes that seems to hide all his emotions . He looked even more intriguing and attractive with that narrow scar that sliced his left eyebrows maybe a scar that he had when he was young .

A phone call broke their eyelock . Ring ring ... Ring ring ...

"Uhm , your phone . " She said .

"Huh ? Oh yeah , yeah my phone . Sorry , excuse me. "He picks up the phone . " Hello ? "

"Sir , the car has been fixed . I'll come and pick you now ." His driver said .

"No , you don't have to come pick me . I'll go to the car myself . You just wait for me in the car ." He said .

"Yes sir ."

He ends the call . He realized that he still had her dupatta with him .

"Uhm , here's your dupatta . Sorry . " He said as he approached her .

"Thank you . " She said with a slight flush on her cheeks as she took her dupatta back .

He took a step back and asked "If you don't mind , I could give you a ride home . I don't think the bus will come any time soon since it's raining heavily ."

Her eyes widened and she replied "Thanks for the offer but I ... I think I'll just wait for the bus to come ."

"Yeah of course . "What was I thinking , I'm practically a stranger why would she accept my offer .

"I really appreciate the thought though ." She smiles .

"Well then , uhm ... Goodbye . Take care ." He said .

"I will . Goodbye ."

He left from there . She saw his shadow disappear . Now she's all alone in the bus stop again . The fear was creeping back in her . Truth be told she felt save when the man was there with her and now that he was gone she felt scared . She checked her watch again and it was 7.15 pm . There was no sign of the bus , any taxis or cars . Maybe she had done another foolish mistake again by not taking that man's offer . But how could she accept his offer when she didn't even know who he was .

She saw a man's shadow coming towards the bus stop again . He came back . She thought slightly relieved that he came back for her but she was disappointed when she saw that it was another man . This man was much more scarier than the man she had met earlier . This man gave off a frightening vibe , he looked at her with hungry lustful eyes that sent shivers down her spine .

Don't look at him Jodha . Save yourself . Her mind warned her . The man was approaching her . Run Jodha ! RUN !!! And she ran pass the scary man toward the direction the stranger had went hoping that maybe just maybe she was lucky enough to find him . She turned around and found the scary man chasing her . She ran as fast as she could .

She saw some lights approaching from afar . Lights ?! A car ! Her mind registered . And she ran towards the direction of the car .The car came to a abrupt stop with a sharp squealing of brakes .

"Shareef what the hell ?! Why did you stop the car all of a sudden ?! " he shouted .

"Sorry sir but a girl came in front of our car all of a sudden . " The driver answered .

"Girl ? " He asked in a confuse voice .

"I'll go check on her sir ." the driver said .

"No , I'll go you stay here . " He said and went out of the car .

She saw a familiar face as he stepped out of the car . It's him ! Her mind cried . "He ... Help me please ." She said with pleading eyes .

He saw the lady he had met earlier asking him for help and saw that a man chasing behind her and glared at him . The man ran from away there .

"It's okay , he's gone now ." He assured her .

"Th... Thank you ."She said in a bearly audible voice . She was clearly frightened by the incident .

"Come get in the car I'll drop you home ."

This time she complied .

"We're here sir ."

"Okay . Miss we've reached your house ."

"Thank you ." And she got out of the car . "Goodbye ." She said before closing the door .

And he left from there . He noticed something on the floor of the car . He picked it up and saw that it was an office pass . Maybe she dropped it earlier He thought He looked at the pass JM Corporations , Ms Jodha Sharma . So her name is Jodha . He smiled .
