I felt bad for gurpreet today when she said " Ek din ki galati ki sazaa mujhe mil rahi hai"......but that's what happens in life...when u talk without thinking......you lose relationships, you lose ppl, she leart that lesson the hard way......i could see that she still likes yash, my heart goes out to her, she's only 21.....she has a long way to go in life....by yelling at yash's mom like that on tv, she completely lost any possibility of mending fences with his mom.....had she just clamly talked to yash abt the issue b4, making that scene on stage, maybe things could have been worked out...but no self-respecting boy, would even look at a girl who he barely knows, and who has just insulted his mom ruthlessly, so yash did the only thing he could do, which is ignore her......today gur herself mentioned that yash's mom is acting normal with her, this is because she now knows, that yash, has stopped seeing gur, so she has no issues with her....her only thing was that didn;t see gur as her DIL...and that she had a right to say....

I totally agree. I feel bad for her because she really likes him. I know it's easy to talk selfrespect and everything. I do think Gur is a girl who has selfrespect but she really liked Yash and it's not easy to get over someone who you pictured yourself getting married to.
I do think yash has taken very good decisions when it came to this whole issue though.

Yash seems young. these will not be the last girls who will meet him. 😊

Ohhh yea i totally agree, i'm amazed how well yash had handled this issue too, for a hot-headed guy he managed to keep his composure on stage throughout gur's blowout..and even the next day when he met gur, he clamly spoke to her, explaining his point of view to her, being young himself, he could have reacted the same way gur did, without thinking, and going on a verbal rampage, but he excersized self-restraint...and that's incredible, i dunno how many guys could have stayed composed in that situation, when their mothe ris being verbally attacked.....our hitty dear could have certainly never, he is almost always, irritated, annoyed on stage, for some reason or another, if it were anything nearly as big as this, i think he would broken the stage itself.....😆
Yash is a good-looking, well-educated guy, and i'm sure he will have many nice girls who would be interested in him outside this house....

I agree..

That is reason Yash's mom never gave the reason why Gur is unacceptable as Bahu..beside some petty nonsensical reasons.

There are many Sikhs who have problem marrying Hindu boys..or even non-punjabi boys. Sikhs think of themselves as progressive and Hindus like Yash's mom narrow minded and too steeped in punitive traditions.

Caste is a very sensitive issue in India even today, it is often said that caste only went away on paper, not in pplz minds...and this is true to some extent......I fee that either some families are open for inter-caste marraiges, or they are not...and if they don't happen to be open-minded on the issue...there is no use trying to convince them...coz it's like casting pearls in front of a swine...they still think that their way of thinking is right.....it's a tricky subject with no right or wrong answer....ppl can talk big about caste means nothing , and all humans are one....which is lovely to hear, but in everyday life, such small things only can become big battlegrounds....It's true that more and more inter-caste marraiges are taking place in India today, but only those marriages are truly happy, where the parents agreed and open-mindedly accepted the union....

I do feel that on some level, caste was on yash's mom's mind, when it came to gur.....but here's my take on the topic.....other than raj's mom...all the other mom's would have had some problem with the caste factor...but they didn't have to face it, coz their son wasn't pursuing gur....if you look at vivek's intro..in the boy's profiles on IF....he has clearly said that he is only interested in upper caste girls, and religion is also an issue for him......and i'm sure even gaurav's mom was of the same opinion....and gur is sikh...which is a diff religion altogether, so that's an even bigger diff....so maybe that played on her mind somewhere....but all i feel is, if someone isn't open minded already, you can;t make them.....unfortunately for gur, the only other punjabi/sikh boy on the show, is taken....infact gur was a 1000 times better than pri, for raj, but aah well...

I think we should have separate show for punjabi/sikh boys and girls.

Btw, Hitesh and his mom are Rajput (Rajputs, Jats and Gujjars are same group of People) Pooja Tandon is Khatri Punjabi (kshatriya) a higher caste and I think Vivek is Aggarwal (Bania).

Pri is brahmin and Raj a Jatt

I agree with the point i think you are making, if these ppl were so stuck up regarding caste and all, they should have never come to such a venue.....i dunno the diff caste breakups you've given me....i'm not from north india, so dunno much about the castes there....but i just wanted to say, that most of these mom's on the show are of the opinion that caste makes a difference....so they share those views more or less.....like it or not, that;s how they think....

Friends I told this earlier also posts based on caste/religion can unknowingly hurt the sentiments of few members belonging to that particular cast or religion...
Till now the topic is going fine and there r some good discussions going on this👏..but somewhere I feel its not proper to openly discuss such sensitive issues which might later lead to fights..
So closing this topic..
