Actor yearns to bring home romance
- Sushant Singh Rajput keen to promote his latest film

Sushant Singh Rajput, who shot to fame with his debut hit film Kai Po Che!, wants to bring desi romance to the city.

The actor would visit Patna this month to promote his filmShuddh Desi Romance.

The film is expected to hit cinemas on September 6. It is about casual relationships in small towns. It depicts the lives of the youths and their evolving thought process and demeanour.

Sushant was greatly appreciated by all and sundry after his silver screen debut.

A source said he was keen to visit Patna to promote Kai Po Che!, but that did not materialise because of a packed schedule.

This time, he has taken the initiative to put his hometown on the top of the priority list. "Sushant has requested that the production house (Yash Raj Films) visit Patna to promote the film. He is keen to visit the city with co-stars Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor," said a spokesperson of Yash Raj Films.

When asked about the date of the promotion, the spokesperson told The Telegraph: "We are yet to decide on the promotion plans, but we will take a call in a week or two. In all likelihood, the stars would visit Patna in August."

Madhu Srivastava, a resident of Boring Road and a big fan of Sushant, jumped with joy when she came to know that the actor would visit the city. "We have many actors from Patna, but very few of them return after becoming famous. He is one of the grounded actors. I am really excited about his visit," said Madhu.

For the first time, the production house would employ a team to conduct a research post-production to find out how authentic their film is. The research would be done in 30 non-metro cities, including Patna.

"The crux of the research would be to find that whether couples in smaller towns are becoming as open-minded as those in the metros and how the Indian youths are evolving," said a source closely associated with the research work.

The results of the research would be published in the second half of August.

"The research would be based on the case studies and human behaviour. A professional company is conducting this research. Jaideep Shahni, writer of the film, had spent a lot of time in Jaipur with the specific purpose of writing this script. He could see changes all around him. This research is inspired by him," the source said.
