@koolsaadhu1000

Of course I don't know who you are...nor do I have a clue about your background...but your comments on hospitals did lead me to wonder...since in the part of the country thatn I live in, I find women doctors dressed extremely fashionably,...hence my remark...

More importantly, I do not seek to defend any character...not in the least interested...I was only talking about a certain freedom to dress and not have to be judged on the basis of it...so, this is the end of this discussion so far as I go...!

what's the prob if purvi wears backless blouse

if i am not wrong even archu's blouse were quite backless during the days when she was wearing saree
so purvi is following footsteps of her aayi
simple logic😊

Yes, Archu also wore those backless blouses and transparent saris so Purvi must have learned those "sanskars" too from her mother! Gawd, Im so sick of that term "sanskars"...😆 almost as annoying and repetitive as the words "Middle class" in Ekta shows.😆
BTW I think Archu was also bashed for not dressing her age, for wearing those backless blouses, kurtas, salwars etc. It was said that she was dressing like a teenage mom. 😆
But my sister who has 2 grown up kids, lives in a middle class locality in Kolkata and she wears jeans and kurtis too...nobody ever comments on that.

Purvi's backless blouses are not immoral but a recent fashion trend in Kolkata..😳

Its been the trend in last 4-5 yrs in Kolkata. Ladies get such blouses tailored with fancy cutout designs in the back and on the sleeves. Many of my lady friends (all respectable, married ladies😆) did get such blouses tailored and wear them to Pujas, functions and parties.
Its the IN thing now...in fact one of my friends got a blouse tailored, exactly like Purvi's, with the tassle at the neck and hooks fastening down below.

This trend in backless blouses amongst Bengali ladies has been influenced by the huge Marwari/ Rajasthani community in Kolkata. Their Chaniya choli is completely backless with only strings attaching the 2 sides throughout. Fancy cutouts on sleeves are also inspired from Choli style.

Many tribal women in Rajasthan and Gujrat wear those completely backless blouses attached only by strings, that is the Choli style. Its a traditional thing in many states so adapted by latest fashion designers across the country including Kolkata.

And Purvi's style of wearing saris is also common in Bengal, especially in traditional homes and in villages. My late Saas used to wear it that style at home, our grandmas, grand-aunts all wore sari that style at home and even outside. Its called the Gharoa style in Bengali which means " Homely" style.
Nowadays many fashionable ladies and girls wear benarasi or kantha saris Gharoa style to weddings and religious functions. Many traditional fashions are coming back into vogue like the gharoa style and choli style blouses.
I hope Purvi's dressing confusion is cleared now...😃

A Lot of this would be agreeable if she actually lived in Kolkatta. When she is not there, what's the point of defending her saying 'people in Kolkatta.. Wear it'??

She lives in Mumbai... And I am sure, how Mumbaikars dress, but I assume its not to wear backless blouses in areas where prostitutes live and do their danda... Actually, I'm sure that doesn't even happen in Kolkatta. 😆

I don't know about others, but for me at least, it's a joke. She parades to be the epitome of sanskaars, and fore thinking for everyone (GOD) but doesn't know to dress in places where raids are norm.. And it's not that she is trashy, but definitely she should cover up the parts of the body that have been sexually objectified by society.

By the same logic Ovi should not wear those short skirts and dresses and show her legs which is considered even more vulgar in the chawl where she has been living for most of the time. Also showing her shoulders by wearing off the shoulder tops or halter necks. That would be absolutely shocking in a chawl. Im sure abt that! 😆

Purvi-Onir dont live in a red light area anymore, the kholi looks completely different, door is on longitudinal side instead of horizontal...I dont know why ppl are so obsessed with prostitutes and dhandha😕 ...because by same logic, Savita's friend just moved to the kholi next door to Onir-Purvi. 😆 And Savita is visiting her friend in same area...go figure! 😆

@ilovedhanjanird: honestly honey, your posts are all over the place your not even making sense anymore. And like pallavi said backless is a trend in such areas, ya know the norm? no one gives a damn as much as your making out if your going to be attention seeking in public places its obvious people will stare and men will ogle. Ovi's clothes are a lot more revealing than Purvi yet you don't comment on hers😆 if ovi purvi walked around the chawl together wearing the clothes they do I can assure you people wouldn't even bat a eyelid at Purvi as Ovi's is way more revealing mind you I have no problem with their clothes just thought to make a point :)

As for Purvi preaching, let her. Sanskaars and Clothing come no where together. My parents brought me up well but I don't wear the kind of clothes that they want me to infact loads of people do, this doesn't make me you or anyone here bad. so a fictional character is out of the question. 😛

Why are backless blouses such a big deal?? I'm sure even you wear it when you go to a fancy Indian party and wear a saree, you wouldn't wear the back all covered up. BTW, Agree with you Amu!!
