I am an Indian (although living abroad but still an Indian citizen) and I do take offense to someone attacking my cultural traditions of wearing sari and blouse.

And I don't have a problem with purvi's sari style
I have a problem with her saris in particular , they are so yucky

Indeed Purvi is guilty of all the crimes that you accuse her of.

However, when Arjun himself does not blame her for compelling him to marry Ovi, why should you and I? He recognises that whatever she may have said, it was he who finally went ahead and married Ovi and consummated their marriage. Dear Waneeka, you are right, we are all absolutely entitled to our opinions and our right to express them, no disputing that at all.

That said, let me also say that I believe Ovi's first digging of that grave for Arjun's and Purvi's love is what triggered all that later transpired. If Ovi had not dug that initial grave (both Arjun and Purvi willingly fell into that hole and should be held responsible for their stupidity), the subsequent actions of Purvi would not have occurred, she would have been happily married to the love of her life, had Pari, been indulged with any number of backless blouses and fancy saris to DK's parties, no baby swap, no keeping the baby truth from Ovi, nothing, nada, all would have been hunky dory in the Arjun Purvi world. If only Ovi had the sense then that she has suddenly discovered, everyone could have led merry lives. Ovi could have been on Vogue and pursued her career and Arjun would have been a mere blip in her existence.

Modern women in South Kolkata dont wear sari that way, but some traditional households in ancient North Kolkata still do...Onir's house in the show is probably in North Kolkata as its an old house with stained glass windows mostly seen in old houses in North Kol..
