Exiting the General Aviation Terminal in Kalina, Santacruz, Deepika Padukone stunned in a chic beige co-ord set. Completing the look with oversized sunglasses and her signature sleek bun, she greeted the paparazzi with a smile, marking her first public appearance since the viral interview.

In a recent interview with CNBC-TV18, Deepika addressed the controversy surrounding her departure from Spirit and Kalki 2898 AD. She clarified her position on the 8-hour work shift demands, offering her perspective as a new mother.

"By virtue of being a woman if that's coming across as being pushy or whatever, then so be it. But it is no secret that a lot of superstars, male superstars in the Indian film industry have been working for 8 hours for years and it's never made headlines," she said.

Deepika, the star of Pathan, highlighted the gender bias in Bollywood, noting that male actors often maintain Monday-to-Friday schedules without question. She called for industry reform, stating, "While it's called an 'industry, we've never really functioned like one. It's extremely disorganized, and it's about time we brought in proper systems and structure."

Deepika pointed out that numerous women, especially new mothers, have adopted similar work patterns without receiving any attention.

On the professional front, Deepika is set to star in King, directed by Siddharth Anand, alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan. The film recently concluded its Poland schedule and is one of the most anticipated releases of 2026.
