No. It's his own fault for not wanting to learn about her past, and hence, her behaviour. He didn't even care about what he was getting into and now he's paying for it.

I dont get the logic of Purvi leaving Onir and their marriage & him not wanting to know her past...What does her past have to do with her leaving him?
Lets not mix the issue to justify Purvi's uncaring treatment to a man who lovingly took care of her for the past 6 months...He is her good husband for crying out loud...Yet he has not given any reason for her to act the way she did..
He is a doctor and he has all the right to make that professional decision whether to treat a patient or not...especially if the patient herself does not want to be treated by this doctor...baat khatam...
I am confused why her hiding her past first and him not wanting to know abt it has anything to do with purvi leaving him..I dont get the logic 😕

@Bold: Onir chose not to know anything about Purvi's past, when wanted to marry her. He may or may not have foreseen what good/bad will come out of it. However, I think it's wrong to say he doesn't know anything. He made that choice to not know anything.

Don't really feel sorry for the guy, except the reasons Amy mentioned earlier, crazy D family.

Arjun was just as good of a man as Onir. Purvi has a history of this mercurial behaviour. If Onir knew about Purvi's past of leaving her "loved ones," maybe he wouldn't be so shocked today over why she left an ideal husband like himself.
Same logic goes if you a marry a murder, yet you know nothing about their past. One day they commit a murder and you can't believe the person you slept next to every night could commit such a deed. Humans are creatures of habit and it's common sense to know someone's background before marrying them. Doing otherwise is just plain foolishness, or "blind" in love.

Now my silly brain knows Onir is going to be shown turning into a -ve character just to make our MMLA sound, wise, tyagi, mahan and caring sister or wife. It will be silly Onir who was not understanding to his wife's whims..😉
Not getting love should make one psycho with issues but here tooo much love is making one psycho with deep rooted cause..😕😲😳

Yes, it is a 21st century thingy, I guess. Hubby having a mind of his own isn't a prized catch, rather it has become having an attitude...but, of course, the problem is, most men actually do have attitude and will stand their ground, and we can call it manliness, ego, attitude or whatever. At least most men, I have seen, know that if they are right, they will stand their ground...and, I agree too, it has nothing to do with knowing Purvi's past...as with Onir benevolent character helping the poor, he probably doesn't care a thing about her past, as long as Purvi is true to him now...some men can be very confident and comfortable not to care at all...

Oh, btw, I am still waiting for a thread on Purvi and her travelling on a train alone in her preggo state😉😉...well, we had quite a few of those to criticize the other 'preggo' character of the show, isn't one going to be even started for her and her unique way in 'taking' care of her unborn baby😆😆

My dear peaches (and Cutie too, what delightful ids you both have!),

I am so sorry to contradict you, but I am afraid the problem is not at all about Purvi's past. Seeing the kind of man Onir is, and how besotted he is with his Mishti, he would not have bothered even if he had learnt, out of the blue, that she had had a dozen ex-lovers in her past.

It has only to do with Purvi's wanting Onir to treat Ovi, despite his explaining that no doctor can treat a patient who does NOT want him to treat her, and her leaving him on that specious count.

Please do not confuse the two things, which have nothing to do with each other.

Onir has, till now, been a consistently and rationally good person, and I hope he stays that way, like Rajat Kapur in BALH, another Balaji soap. In fact it is Rajat who gives me some hope for Onir.

The only reason why one should feel sorry for Onir is his misfortune in getting involved with and falling for this serial ditching specialist, aka Purvi. Exactly the reason for which my heart weeps for my poor Arjun, who is in a desperate state now, worse than anything one could have imagined, saddled with a termagant of a wife for what looks like the whole of the rest of his existence.

This said, I think all of you are really angry about what has happened to Arjun, as indeed I am as well, but that should not stop us from facing the facts where Purvi is concerned.

All the very best to all of you for a healthy, peaceful and fulfilling New Year 2013.

My dear,

I do not want to repeat myself and tire you out, but as I wrote to peaches and Cutie above,

I do not know what you think about a wife behaving like this, and that too with an excessively indulgent husband, but for me it is totally unacceptable. Perhaps I am just too old fashioned!

My very best wishes to you and your family for a healthy, peaceful and fulfilling New Year 2013.

Shyamala ji,
If Onir had knew about her past, he would know that she could make heaven and Earth trade places. He would know that she is a girl who would make a deal out of her love. But Onir didn't care, as you stated, he's head over heels in love with her. If Onir has no hold over his blind love for his mishti, then it's his own fault. He's lost himself to the extent where he doesn't apply common sense. Had he an ioata of what Purvi is capable of, he wouldn't be suprised to see his mishti indirectly dragging him back to treat Ovi. Our senseless Arjun has also made the same mistake by falling so deep for Purvi that he was willing to marry another woman on a whim. As much as it is Purvi's fault for demanding so much from these men, it's equally there fault for not holding on to thr reins of common sense when venturing down the lane of love with her.
Happy New Year,
Amita
