i also fill bad for ovi and i undrestand why she tell her father not to save purvi she tell him this is their problem then theyr should to save her and not you i agree but when manav say to ovi that they people's are danger and purvi's life is in danger then ovi say that i don't care what will they do to her but you will not save her.how can she tell this she also a woman she should atleast think about that before she speaking if purvi get kill then what will happen she will forgive her self if they rape her her life will be hell then ovi will forgive her self not.

Now coming to the main point, there are many topics regarding ovi being mean, cruel, inhumane blah blah blah. Even i agree that yes her behavior is inexcusable. But then there are many factors that has led her to such a point that she is only filled with emptiness, bitterness and hatred.

First of all even i believe that ovi's love is obsession but are we so sure of it. Her feelings are one sided but maybe she truly loved Arjun. At the age of 14 she claims to have started loving Arjun; the age where one does not even know what love means but then as she grew up her feelings emerged strong and she was firm in her decision of having Arjun as her life partner. Even Juliet fell in love with romeo at the age of 14 (claimed by some), if her love is true then i think we can give Ovi the benefit of doubt as well. By comparing juliet's love with ovi's I am not saying that ovi should get Arjun but all i am saying is that her feelings should be respected.

Now the factors that led her to become what she is now.

SAVITA - she filled the girls with so much hatred for their mother that it is just impossible to replace it with love.Tej being the strong one was able to digest the fact that their abandoned them and so her hatred towards her mother is not very strong. But ovi the childish, barbie doll, sensitive and protective baby was not so strong. For her the feeling of being abandoned meant being rejected. The feeling of hatred for her mother was much much much strong then her love for anyone.

Agree with each and every line...it's really hard for a daughter to digest the fact that your mother left you (what she had been told by Savita) and when you carry that belief for nearly 18 years it's really difficult to just let go of it...she cannot just go on a 'forgive and forget' mode...

ARJUN- Our hero as we all see him. I want arvi but then if I look from the point of view of a girl even i will feel betrayed. He promised marriage to Ovi out of compulsion or as we say due to ovi's trick, but the bottom line is he agreed. Now after coming to India he fell in love with Purvi which is not at all his fault, love can happen anytime anywhere and with anyone; its not in our hand. But after accepting his feelings he should have directly told ovi about him not marrying her. Agree he tried but that was not enough, if not Ovi then he could have told it to manav or tej atleast. Now after the engagement fiasco the lame excuse he gave of not telling ovi added fuel to the fire. His concern was termed as love by Ovi. After clearing the doubts and earning few thappads from Manav he redeemed himself but that redemption was at the cost of rejecting ovi. And here we once again see that ovi is being rejected by her childhood friend - cum - one sided love. So how on Earth can we expect Ovi to accept the bitter reality of being rejected.

It was really wrong of Arjun in keeping Ovi in the dark...specially after the engagement...he should have clarified everything to her...the situation was very critical and Arjun only made it worse...he was not only keeping Ovi in the dark but he was also doing wrong with Purvi...his excuses too were very feeble...he did redeem himself but as you pointed out, it was late...(I am not an Arjun hater...infact i love him but this is what i felt when he was silent)...

ARCHANA- Whatever the reason be but somewhere the twins do hate her for leaving them alone. And it would be best or better if she tries to help ovi come out of this state just like indirectly she once helped savita out of her illness. And to top it all the Arjun challenge thing has once again proven to ovi that her aai preferred purvi over her.

I don't blame Archana in this...the challenge that she gave to Arjun wasn't wrong...as a mother, she did just what she felt was right...it wasn't only for Purvi...Archana said time and again that she doesn't think that Arjun is right for even Ovi...she isn't biased in this term but where i think she went wrong was when she never bothered to contact the kids in 18 years...the excuse that she gave that Manav told her to stay away is not enough...Ovi too wasn't wrong in thinking that Archana preferred Purvi over her...both Ovi and Archana had their own view points and both were correct in their minds...

Manav- what he did in last epi was the final stroke to shake ovi out of her wits. Her baba considers purvi equal to the twins. As a good human being what manav did was very nice, but that same act of his has made ovi think that due to Purvi her baba rejected her or ignored her plea.

Manav's intentions were good but somehow i feel that though Ovi was wronged very badly, her not wanting Manav to help Purvi was really very wrong...agree she blames Purvi for what happened to her but the scenario wasn't something so simple...the situation was more of humanity based in which i guess Ovi brought her personal problems...it wasn't right of her...moreover when she went to Manav at first to stop him, Manav clearly told her that as much as he cannot bring himself to forgive Purvi and Arjun, it is necessary to let go of that now...Ovi should have acted maturely atleast during all the kidnapping drama...

A girl who was pampered and treated like princess now after few months lost everything to "us aurat's" adopted daughter. For the world Purvi is not wrong because she never forced archana to adopt her, she did not coax arjun to fall in love with her, she did not ask manav to treat her like the twins; so Purvi is not at fault. But for ovi she is at fault, her aai gave the motherly to Purvi which she was deprived off , her childhood friend whom she loves promised marriage but then fell in love with Purvi, her baba for whom tej-ovi meant everything said that purvi is similar to them. So overall the bitterness that ovi has in heart for Purvi is understood, and characters like that of ovi are to be found in real life as well.

@bold - Ovi blaming Purvi for what happened to her is very natural...we would have behaved the same way if we were if her situation...it's not easy to let go of everything in a trance specially with all the reasons you pointed out...but Ovi is grown up...she should have shown her maturity atleast when Purvi was kidnapped...

We love positive characters like purvi and archana coz of their achchai but then we must not forget that people like ovi are in majority. I and you would also have reacted the same way if we were in ovi's place, even we would have despised Purvi. All of us have a violent streak in us,which will be visible one day or the other.

We say that ovi was clearly told that arjun does not love her, but is it really possible to come out of the trauma so easily. Is it really easy to believe that your beautiful dream that was so priceless to you has been written in someone else's destiny. Is it so easy? the answer is NO. In reality it takes month and sometimes years and if you are really in love with that person then it even takes a lifetime. Some people accept the bitter truth and move on coz they have already faced the hardships of life and know the world, but ovi never faced the real world she never worked hard for anything and so its very very hard for her to believe that her love is not hers anymore.

I love ArVi to death and I hate ovi for what she is, but for my blind love for arvi i cannot forget the fact that ovi has been wronged. No matter how much I love Arjun but the fact remains that his silence caused ovi a major heart break. I am not against arvi because I am die hard fan of theirs but then i dont want to say ovi is wrong.

In future Ovi will definitely be the villian coz in ekta's show ex girlfriend/wife are always shown to be pshyco, but for once i will not blame ovi but the situation for turning her evil.

@ bold - agree with you and this is also what i feel...

OK now i am ready with my shield, you guys can throw chappal and ande. By this post i dont want to start a fight but want a healthy discussion on what you guys think about OVI. If you think I am wrong then please do tell me coz even i would love to know your views. 😊

I loved your post. It is very difficult to play the devil's advocate convincingly, but you have pulled it off , and with great sensitivity and empathy for a character whom it is rather difficult to like. Dickens would have understood her, and also pitied her, for he held that those who have drifted into hate are the ones most to be pitied. Like Ovi.

I particularly identified with your criticism of Arjun. I have been one of his strongest and most consistent defenders in the forum, but what is wrong is wrong, whether it was done out of weakness in a moment when he should have come clean, or out of a misplaced sympathy that only made matters worse all around.

All in all, a beautiful piece of writing, and my congratulations.
