You guys I just had a scary thought (Jhanvi, Laurie...Im just as addicted as you...to ARVI and the forums. I cant believe it. I just cant believe that on a perfectly good and promising Friday night in the US I am sitting here on IF reading the posts and writing about ARVI...this is truly scary. Thankfully I am going to be going out and enjoying the night in a little while but until then this is my obsession frankly speaking- and I wouldnt be surprised if I also check on IF from my cell phone too from time to time :))

So my thought is this: someone (I dont remember who but a very perceptive person) pointed out in one of today's posts that we have yet to see what is behind the POA. I watched today's ARVI scenes online (thanks again ISSA my dear---you rock!!!! 😉) and I also saw DK's reaction to Manav's phone call about the marriage.

Picture this scenario: DK gives an order or does something for the business only to have it countermanded by Purvi (unknowingly of course...she wont know that its him she is overruling). But since she has POA her wish will be what happens. Then of course, DK, in his typical style will come back and ask Purvi..."What are you trying to do here??." My son, who was a shrewd businessman and logical person before has become utterly soft and changed completely...then he gives you complete Power of Attorney over the business...and now he is refusing to marry Ovi and causing all kinds of problems. Things he would have done before. Who are you Purvi? Just what is it you are after?

So in a nutshell- here is my greatest fear. DK will come back alright---but he will not support Arjun/Purvi as we thought. The POA gives Ovi/Punni a great opportunity to turn DK against Purvi and try to break up ARVI. See Ive thought about this. Those of us who think that Ovi will be heartbroken, break engagement, and need Archana for guidance/comfort are dead wrong. This girl is selfish, possessive, and obsessive. When she can go to any life extremes for Arjun, I cant tell you one thing...this girl ain't "going gently into that good night" so to speak. She is NOT going to react with dignity, wipe her tears, and move on...she is way to selfish and self-obsessed for that. No, this girl is going to raise hell and try to hold on to Arjun at any costs. The more love he shows for Purvi the more she is going to want him. She is not going to leave him- not without a fight- and that too, a big catfight.

Punni will team up with her for this...anything to break ARVI...because as she clearly said in today's episode "the time has come to make friends with Ovi". She will first concentrate on breaking up Arjun/Purvi...then turn her attention to Ovi. And this POA gives them the perfect weapon to do it.

Unwittingly Arjun has given Ovi the perfect weapon to turn DK against Purvi. We all know DK has a soft corner for Ovi...one MU of DK/Purvi in office in terms of their orders/wishes, and this can totally be used to make life pure hell for ARVI.

Im going out on a limb to say this...but the point of this post was to say...earlier I was hoping and praying for DK to come back to sort things out...but now, Im just not so sure thats going to be a good thing. Cant put my finger on it, but have a funny feeling...

Do you feel this way due to last two weeks of roller coaster ride.

First time, DK misunderstood what Arjun said about his love, that's why he called Ovi.

DK is the only support for Arjun, so I dont think he will hurt Arjun. He may be careful about POA etc.

See even I respond to you at 10.45, IF is better than Maine Pyar Kiya movie.

I don't think DK will do anything to harm Purvi or Arjun. Purvi might actually make a sensible change/veto and that might impress DK all the more. If Punni or Ovi create a scene about Purvi, I have a feeling it will be DK who will come to Purvi's rescue. He will be the baba she has always wanted Manav to be.

Ha ha ha!! We all have three choices to go out and enjoy Friday night, watch Maine Pyaar Kiya or be on IF, and we loyal fans of ArVi, of course on IF.

@vgiri and Jhanvi...I hope u two r right...when the truth comes out, these 2 will need all the help they can get. If DK supports them it will give them some confidence and hope. What's with the POA though? I feel like this does have some significance

Arch, I am hoping the POA will help show Purvi in a positive light to everyone. Not as a golddigger if the messy truth comes out but as a principled working girl who has the good of the company and the employees at heart. Reasons for DK to love her more as a daughter in law who will follow in Ashna's footsteps.

I also think the POA already sort of served its purpose, it tied Purvi to her job, she cannot leave even if she wants to now as everyone will wonder why.

You are so right Archana, I am also becoming so obsessed with IF & Arvi that I can't concentrate on my studies. I can't spend a day without reading your (all IF members) lovely posts. I am from India & it's Saturday morning here, so again I am on with my IF account.

Yes, the mystry behind POA is yet to be unfolded. I have immense hopes & expectation on DK till he went on assignment to Australia. But, DK , I think is only person who will get a good marks to make the situation more complex & complicated on the basis of his assumption (I have already mention it in my other posts & told you about the POA yesterday when answering your ques @lunch date with Arjun) . I think, everything will go against Purvi as DK can put a blame that She has done this only because of the so called Power & all.

But Punni's chaal will be more suspicious, I think. Though she will work on to break the Arvi Jodi, and Arjun Ovi engagement, in one of SBB/SBS segment, Ashu said that Punni always loves money. So she will support the person having with money & power. Now Purvi is the most powerful girl in the office.

Dk loves Ovi. Moreover, I have already said it before that appreciating a girl as an efficient employee and accepting her as his "daughter in law" is far different. Besides, he had given a dirty look when Arjun uttered the name of his lady Love as Purvi ( Like Tumhe aur koi nahi mila puri duniyaa mein )

Dear Archana,

That is a very well worked out and plausible scenario, but I feel that you are thinking on these complicated lines for the very good reason that Arjun-Purvi keep ricocheting from one crisis to another, and we are always on the lookout for yet another disaster.

I would like you to consider three points, all of which are a matter of fact and not of interpretation.

1) When DK gets that call from Manav about his wanting to fix the marriage date, the first thing they show him as thinking of is Arjun saying that he cannot marry Ovi as he loves someone else, adding a moment later, in response to the sharp question from his father ,"Purvi". He had agreed to Arjun's change of heart not only because he loves his son (after his own dry fashion, but very deeply nonetheless, as a precious gift from his beloved wife), but also because he thinks his wife would have wanted Arjun to marry the girl he loves. He does not come over as the heavy handed father despite his initial, and entirely understandable, burst of anger.He will not go back on this.

2) Though Purvi has the PoA and in theory does not have consult anyone about any decision she might want to take, in practice she does invariably consult Arjun on file and take both his inputs and his views. So, there is no possibility of her taking a major decision without Arjun being in the loop, and so if there is any flap, Arjun will of course defend her and mollify his father.

3) DK does not play any active role in the management of Arjun's firm, which Arjun runs independently right from the beginning.You will remembe that we have never seen Arjun consulting his father about anything; as Manav is a half partner, he does consult him about the chawl renovation project, but in general he does his own thing.

DK is now only looking after Manav's business affairs in Canada and their other affiliates outside Canada for the duration of Manav's stay in India. There is no indication that he takes more than a cursory interest in Arjun's firm ,and none at all in the individual projects they handle.

Given this why would DK issue an order about some matter that Arjun's firm is dealing with that could be (unknowingly) countermanded by Purvi? Project decisions are taken only by the person actually handling them, and DK is nowhere in the picture for any OVT project.

This apart, even if he did somehow give such an order, it would be done in writing. Purvi would immediately know whose order it was, and she would NEVER countermand DK's orders. She is really rather scared of him.

I do not know how far the above will carry conviction with you, but this is what I believe, on the basis of the facts as we know them so far. I am sure it will make you feel better! So don;t have any more funny feelings and relax.

This said, I would agree with your assessment of Ovi's likely reaction to Arjun slipping out of her hands. As I mentioned elsewhere, she is like a sleek, well fed and well cared for cat (not a kitten!) and if you stroke her fur the right way, she will purr and like your hand, but one wrong move and she will snarl and scratch.

Lastly, Archana, as regards the sentence in red, Punni is not thinking of tackling Arjun-Purvi first and then turning her sights on Ovi. It is in fact the opposite. She thinks that once Ovi is told about Arjun having an "affair' with Purvi, she will break the engagement (she does not know what Ovi is like when she is crossed!). As for Purvi, Punni is confident that after Arjun has once got engaged to Ovi, Purvi will not touch him with a barge pole. Thus she thinks that her road will be clear.What self-delusion!
