I think Manav himself told Damodar that he intends to start a new business, else how would Damo come to know?

This shows that they are in contact. Therefore Manav also knows that Damo is working in plays and there is money in the house, as he said earlier. So he has not been shown giving any money as of now, cos his own financial problems (house rent and so on) are more severe at the moment.

I am not trying to give excuses, just trying to indicate possibilities.

All said, I agree that Manav is overdoing the 'good damaad' act. I'm absolutely dissatisfied with the way Manav Archana have forgotten the way Varsha spoke about Manav. Vaishali has at least apologized, but Varsha hasn't done even that. And then she is sitting comfortably eating halwa, while Manav (who has probably come home tired after work) is standing in a corner. At least the girl should have a thought that he is her jeeju and deserved respect. Today I felt Varsha was behaving as if she is in her servants' quarters. I hate her more than any other character in PR currently, and I'm really angry that the CV's are making her a grieving childless woman so I am not free to hate her any more and have to sympathize with her instead. It would have been so much better if we could see Satish's extramarital affair and him leaving Varsha, instead of the 'childless' track. Honestly, it sucks!

I'm also dissatisfied with the portrayal of Manav-Archana's marital relationship- they don't talk, they don't discuss, they are never shown criticizing/suggesting each other, they are only shown to cuddle a little and cry about how they trust each other and love each other. I wanted to see the practical side of them and how they fight their problems and prove themselves compatible as a couple and so on, but its all missing.

Felt bad for Savita. I don't agree that Manav is a horrible son to have or that Savita should dismiss him in her will asking him not to light her funeral pyre (cos the previous one and a half years have shown that in 31 years he has made small and big sacrifices for his family- I for one, cannot dismiss all that he has done all these years for the mistakes he is making NOW- he literally threw away his life for his mother two times- once when he left school to take care of the house, and once when he agreed to marry Shravani for Sachu's sake), but I agree that he is very wrong AS OF NOW- just like Savita had been wrong in the past by selling her son in the marriage market and breaking his marriage by sending divorce papers and conspiring with Manju. That was wrong, but that doesn't wipe out her goodness and love as a mother, or what she has done for him as a mother, does it? Same goes for Manav.

He is wrong, I agree. But definitely not hate worthy. Nor does he deserve to be dismissed in Savita's funeral pyre will. But the izzat aarti, yes, I would like that. It will make him realize his mistake and then hopefully he will apologize to his Aai and come back home.

Forgot to add in my comments that I liked Vandita's advice to Savita to stop being stubborn- her situation and anger is UNDERSTANDABLE, but not CORRECT. The fact that she is away from her son and her constant abuse of Archu is not helping anyone. Now if only someone could advise Manav too, or he would get guilt pangs and go home to his mother to apologize, so that the olive branch could be extended from both sides, and all could be well again.

Savita is much better than the Karanjkars- but she's not perfect too. She loves him immensely, and I can understand her hatred for Archu, but due to fair or foul reasons she has not thought of Manav's happiness many times, she tends to take him for granted- now please don't say she asked him not to get divorced- that was not done cos Manav loved Archu, but cos she had started liking Archu, Manav toh pehle bhi pyaar karta tha.

In any case, Manav needs to start working on making up with his Aai soon.
