I dont know what happened...but last few posts made me very emotional...a bit teary eyed..like i mentioned in earlier post..i am white and black american....with indian bf...and huge cultural diff..huge fam issues going on....first his fam refused to accept me...cause i am not indian...after hearing about that rejection...(which is kinda ok now...similar situation to satish ultimatum)..my fam totally against him....like how dare them refuse our daughter,sister, etc..eventually in anger, my bf called my mom heartless....which hurt me to core .... i just cannot forgive him for saying that....and i always throw it back at him in our quarrels..we use to enjoy so much until we started talking about marriage and then the whole objections and all went down..so our relationship is like we love each other lots but...just this evening we had a really bad fight..and we said the most hurtful things to each other....(fight as in words)

i started watching hindi soaps cause my best friend recommended them to me ..i got hooked on them and after seeing how these daughter in laws r treated...i started saying this and that to him..i know some of these dont happen but it was my way of hurting him...and i really did...and he would be like..so do u want me to judge all americans from what i see in movies...i know it sounds silly but u dont know how much we hurt each other by comparing our diff cultures..we r both in our mid 20's....sometimes when we quarrel...i just come online...read pr written updates then i really look forward to kool's commentary..and sometimes participate in the lively discussions...it really comforts me...thanks everyone....u dont know how these simple things can be a life savior for others...

C i love reading you comments. very different and to the point and so well written...with a great perceptive which tends to be so very different from the rest...

agree with sid. my post was not directed towards you but rather what sid had said and what the forum and the people who post here mean to me.

the forum is priceless because of the people i get to interact with...

Sid , if ur being very strong , and need to talk we r here for u .Feel free to pm if u find it difficult to talk on Crazy comments but dont keep it bottled up inside .

Addenise , if u guys love each other , stop criticizzing each others families , and stop believing these cultures shown on soap operas .American culture is definetely not the one shown on Desperate Housewives and Indian culture is not shown on PR . It is melodrama .Please dont hurt each other by pulling down each others cultures , families .....right now you guys r making up after the fights a sboth of you are young and attraction is there but after some time deep hurt will set in .'

So love each other so truly and deeply that in your spare time you think of that love alone . Dont keep unreaslistic expectations about loving each others families ...that simply doesnt happen .But for each others sakes be civil to them [ the families ] . Go out of the way to show and give a message that you love each other and everything will be alright .

Addenise, I know I hav no right to interfere in ur matter but i will tell u my experience nd my sister's experience (not so much in detail) if parents r not gud with the marriage then the relation will hav a very bad ending. my sister is suffering from the same. she loved the guy. my parents had no problem with her marriage but her husband had to persuade his parents a lottttt. this is the reason that they hav not been able to accept my sister till now. trust me her mother in law is worse than savita. savita is out spoken nd not that clever. my sister's saas is sooooo clever (nd sometimes very stupid). nd she totally controls her son. u think Manav is mama's boy? my sister's husband is the biggest mama's boy i had ever seen. nd he treated my sister just like how his parents wanted. all the love of 8 9 years was gone (she had been married for 10 months). nd their relation is not at a very gud point right now. there r a lot more details but i wont discuss those here.nd my sister's husband is from the same community as ours but a different family.

i know u love this guy a lot nd he loves u a lot too. but read what u wrote. do u really think u both will b happy? if u dont wana be selfish then think abt the guy. wud u want him to stay in a relation like that nd unhappy all his life? i m sure u dont want that. its just going to get worse. for everyone.

nd i m not a biased person at all. i had listened to stories of both sides nd also witnessed the wrongdoings of my brother in law myself. i wont support someone just bcoz of the relation i hav with them. i always try to support the truth nd the right side.
