Shiva couldn’t wait to see Raavi! Realizing how much she had suffered in silence, shattered his heart. All this time he expected her to understand him while he himself made no efforts to understand her. He wanted to apologize to her; he wanted to tell her how much she meant to him; he wanted to hug her and love her with all his heart. He knew Raavi cared about him. When she slept on his chest, as if he was her home, her heartbeat felt like the rhythm of his life. The last couple of nights had given Shiva a new hope of a beautiful life with Raavi and he latched on to it.

Raavi was excited to see Shiva tonight! She wanted to apologize to him for hurting him, for not understanding him, for fighting with him. She wanted to tell him that she loved him and wanted to spend her life with him. She prepared baingan sabzi just the way he liked it and took the food in her room. She was careful not to let anyone see the extra plates and utensils and went to the bathroom to get cleaned up. When she came out, she checked her phone to see if Shiva had messaged but she accidentally opened the call log and saw an outgoing call to Shiva. She hadn’t called him today at all but then she looked at the time and realized that Prafulla had accidentally dialed him when she had snatched the phone away. The call had lasted about 30 minutes and dread spread through her heart realizing that Shiva had heard the entire conversation. He’d be angry hearing Prafulla’s words. Was this it? Would this new hope of a fresh start with Shiva be destroyed just like that? Afraid to have her heart broken again, she sent a message to Shiva.

“Tu aa raha hai na?” Raavi texted.

Shiva went back home and went to get cleaned up. After showering, he went back to his room and stopped. The room had a faint and familiar delicate flowery smell as if she had been back. But he quickly shrugged it off thinking that he was missing her so much, he could smell her presence. He was getting ready when his phone chimed.

He saw Raavi’s message and smiled and replied, “Tu intezaar kar rahi hai mera?”

Raavi saw his message and her restlessness went down a little.

“Baingan ki sabzi thandi ho rahi hai. Jaldi aa ja!” she replied back.

Shiva’s phone buzzed again as soon as he opened his wardrobe and seeing Raavi eagerly waiting for him made him happy.

“10 minute Chipakali!” he replied and grabbed his shirt.

Shiva was about to close the wardrobe when he saw Raavi’s jewelry box. Surprised, he took it out and wondered how it got here. Since Raavi left, the wardrobe only had his clothes. There was nothing that belonged to Raavi in the room let alone in the wardrobe. And then he smelled the faint flowery and delicate fragrance again realizing that Raavi had come to put the jewelry box back. He opened it and saw that she had returned everything that his family had gifted her during and after their wedding. It broke his heart again! Then he wondered when she had come back to return these, and his heart stopped. What if she was in the room during his altercation with Suman? She must have been hurt hearing his mother’s insults. Worried, Shiva put the jewelry back in the box and took it with him as he hurried to see her.

Raavi was pacing back and forth in her room when she heard him climb the ladder. She walked towards the balcony when Shiva came in. She wanted to run to him and hug him, but she stopped when she saw her jewelry box in his hand.

“Yeh box kyun leke aaya?” Raavi asked shocked.

“Tu ghar kab aayi thi?” Shiva asked worried.

Raavi was speechless! She wanted to tell him that she heard everything and apologize for her mistakes, but she was scared to have their past shadow their future.

Seeing her hesitation Shiva understood that she indeed had heard everything as he walked up to her. He took her hand and made her sit on the bed. He knelt on his knees in front of her and tucked a finger under her chin to make her look at him. Tears rolled down her eyes and it broke his battered heart even more.

Shiva wiped her tears and asked, “Tune suna?”

Raavi nodded and cried. Shiva couldn’t see her like that as he hugged her tight.

“Sshhhh! Raavi I am sorry. I am so sorry!” he said, his own voice breaking.

Raavi pushed him and cupped his face and said, “Nahi Shiva, I am sorry! Please mujhe maaf kar de! Maine kabhi teri izzat hi nahi ki! Kabhi tujhe samjhne ki ya jaan ne ki koshish nahi ki! Har baar tujhse jhagada kiya. Tujh pe gussa kiya aur tujhe kya kya nahi sunaaya! Tujhe jaan ke, samajh ke, hamaare problems ko solve karna chodo maine unhe aur uljha diya. Tujhe itana hurt kiya maine! I am sorry!” and cried.

Shiva wiped her tears and gently tucked her hair behind her ears. “Raavi …”

“Main koi samjhauta nahi kar rahi thi Shiva!” Raavi said before he could finish and continued, “Shaayad shuru shuru mein … lekin fir baad mein, main dil se yeh rishta nibhana chahti thi! Aur tujhe uss Disha ke saath dekh ke toh … aur fir jab tu taiyaar hoke aaya toh main maan na hi nahi chahti thi ke tu mere liye badal sakta hai. Kyun ki agar main maan leti aur baad mein pata chalta ke tu Disha ke liye change hua hai toh mera dil … I am sorry Shiva!”

Shiva’s heart healed a little hearing this and he said, “Tu maafi matt maang Raavi! Humaare beech jo kuch bhi hua usme galati sirf meri thi. Mujhe pata hai ke maine tujhe bohot rulaaya hai. Tu sahi thi meri insecurities ke baare mein. Mujhe lagta tha ke mere saath teri life barbaad ho gai thi aur tu mere saath khush nahi thi. Mein nahi chahta tha ke tu taras khaake mere saath rahe. Mein bas tujhe zabardasti ke iss rishte se azaad karna chahta tha. Par fir tu wapis aa gai aur mera mann fir se teri taraf khicha chala aaya! Mein tujhse alag nahi hona chahta Raavi lekin mujhe yeh nahi pata tha ki tu mere saath apni zindagi guzaarna chahti bhi hai ya nahi! Aur fir Disha aai aur tujhe farq padne laga! Lekin humaare jhagade badhte gaye aur baat haath se nikal gai. Mujhe tujhse baat karni chahiye thi Raavi. Agar main apna ego chhod deta toh shaayad aaj hum saath hote …!”

Raavi looked into Shiva’s eyes and realized that it was time to put the past behind them and start fresh. She made him sit on the bed and sneaked into the kitchen to heat the food. She got back and they ate while Raavi teased Shiva about suddenly liking the Baingan. After dinner, Shiva insisted on helping her wash the dishes. At first, she rejected the idea because if Prafulla found out that they were secretly meeting at night, she would create a huge mess. But sneaking around with Shiva was so thrilling & fun that she agreed, and they quietly went to the kitchen and washed the dishes & cleaned the kitchen. Afterwards, even though they were tired, they didn’t feel sleepy and decided to watch a movie. Shiva liked horror & suspense thrillers; Raavi liked love stories and drama. Finally, after spending a lot of time bickering and trying to decide which movie to watch, they decided that tonight they were going to watch Shiva’s choice of movie, Bell Bottom, and the next time they’d watch the movie Raavi picks.

Shiva sneaking into Mami’s house to see Raavi and she cooking for him and watching a movie together is all cute but they are going to get in trouble soon. Hope they have a an to pacify both the families and get back together😆
