Nani gets trolled for liplock with Krithi Shetty in Shyam Singha Roy after actress reveals being uncomfortable

Actress Krithi Shetty’s recent interview has gone viral for a definite reason. She said she was not comfortable doing the kissing scene in Shyam Singha Roy. The movie that had Nani in the lead role starred Krithi Shetty and Sai Pallavi. Nani was 37 and Krithi Shetty was apparently 17 when the kissing scene was filmed. After this clip went viral, Nani and the makers are being trolled. Others said that if Krithi Shetty was 17 then she was younger than the age of consent. People who had seen Shyam Singha Roy said the scene was unnecessary and looked odd on screen. Krithi Shetty was also shown as smoking in the film.

Fans of Nani have defended him saying that she knew that the film had such scenes and yet signed the dotted lines. She had worked in Uppena when she was 15. Panja Vaisshnav Tej was her co-star. She had done some passionate romantic scenes with him in the movie. They said that Krithi Shetty had done such scenes before. Even Rahul Sankrityan who is the director of Shyam Singha Roy is facing criticism for this.

People have defended Nani saying that if she was a minor her parents would have been aware of the kind of scenes. They wondered why they did not raise an issue then. Some also spoke about the power imbalance and how young people do not have a choice. Nani is also the producer of The Court a movie around justice for minors under POSCO. There has been a lot of conversation around creating safe spaces for female actors in movies. People are calling out such age gaps between actors and actresses in films. They said such casting should be banned. Krithi Shetty and Panja Vaisshnav Tej’s intimate scenes had gone viral too. We wonder if Nani will ever address this issue.
