yea but isnt it like that in our religion? like i know tht women are given equal rights n all that..but whn it comes to freedom n dominance, usually men have that more..

^ I agree with Rabz. Hypocrisy is a whole diff thing..but in Zaroon's case, he admits that he wouldn't want his wife to be the way he is..I mean Idk how to put it..from day 1, I didn't see anything extraordinary he's asking for..otherwise he wouldn't like a college-going girl..he is liberal in the sense ke he wants a parhi-likhi larki..who knows how to move in the same society, but the GIRL should know her limits..
Somewhere in all this, we do end up blaming men because they abuse the right that Islam gives them, but then those men are totally different who actually abuse the right and use in against women...to keep up caged at home, Zaroon is nothing like that..
It's quite obvious from the OST that Zaroon would actually take Kashaf out..and the biggest change: she doesn't even have the dupatta on her head. The men Hinna is talking of, would ask her to wear a burqa instead -_-
If there are certain rulings set for women in Islam, I feel that the woman should just know what she's supposed to do, before a man has to ask her (which is when she starts blaming him).

i think that kind of hypocrisy exists naturally in all men...lyk even most of the guys in our family are like tht...esp our brothers... okay if not interacting wid girls then atleast they do stare at thm...n at the same time they want their sisters to cover themselves n stay in their limits etc

The last bit is totally what I feel women need to understand. Don't wanna drag religion, but honestly as a woman, if your given an upbringing in which you're taught that you have to cover your head, how can you take it off for your husband in public? Wouldn't you feel ashamed? I mean you can do something for your husband but not Allah.
A woman who wears a burqa, who wears a hijab can also be liberal. Our society has over-used and abused the word liberal. My problem with Bol was exactly similar. When Humaima said "utaro in burqon ko aur apni khud ki pechaan banao" i was like that's it.. I know I'm gonna hate this movie. And it's not Islam which has brought this.. It's the fact that people don't understand the difference between Islam and culture hence they always bring out the wrong side to everything.

Yea some of my family here in London get that whenever they go to Lahore, since a few of my relatives are a little religious now & that shows in their dressing, they dress accordingly. "The paindu's from London have arrived" is the welcome they get

Exactly, the problem lies in the minds of the women who fail to understand the simple rulings set out straight forward in the Qur'an, but this isn't a preaching forum, neither is this the right place to say anything as such, so I'll shut up 😆
