i know its fun..my dad was born n raised in Lahore b he says the same thing but i dont know for some reason it doesnt attract..n i dont know y its called a tehwar when Muslims only have 2 tehwars which r Eid-ul-Fitr n Eid-ul-Adha..i m not against anyone celebrating it

I would Like to make this Basant Topic, Discussion of the week.

I agree with Sarah that it is purly a waste of money, especially in the country were still a major population have no food, and no shelter. A country which is still listed as a "Developing Country". So why should we waste money on festivals like Basant, where ppl uses thousands and thousands of Rupees on kites, that specail thread, plus arrange parties and make special dresses for the occation.

we have to think, is it worth it? that thread which they use is made out of chemical which is causing cancer. 100s of young boys die on the streets while catching the kite, or getting the electric shock coz their kite was stuck in the bijli ki taar, and they were trying to release it. plus many die by falling off their roofs and balconies.

I can go on, writting about Basant, but now I will stop, and let u think about it.

i have neva actually been 2 one but have seen it on tv n say its kool n the colours r magnicent in the sky. the size 2 makes it look fun

it is a total waste of money and thtz not gud especially in a country lyke Pak where tht money is needed b better thingz...

i watch basant on tv they show it evry year ive never actually taken part but it kinda looks cool but not my type of thing flying kites on da balcony opposite sum ppl i h8

anyway ppl dat to celebrate basant shud b more careful to avoid accidents

saba u r absolutely right..i didnt say all that 'coz i thought it might hurt someones feelings or someone may get offended by it 'coz there r soo many ppl who celebrate basant with so much ethusiasm..i agree that its a fun festival but a fun that causes ppl's death is not worth it..instead of wasting so much money on kites n thread n clothes n food they should donate that money to earthquake victims
