anyway, i have introduced a new character in this chapter. preethi. this preethi is the same pretty preethi from 'bandham'.😃 so here goes :

CHAPTER 16

deepa woke up late the next day and went down to the restaurant across for a late breakfast. she was munching on a chicken sandwich when she spotted kailash walking by holding a gift box. she tried to call him over but he couldn't hear her through the glass. hurriedly paying her bill, deepa rushed out of the restaurant. she saw kailash talking with someone but he was blocking the person so deepa couldn't see who it was. "who is that person??" she wondered seriously.

"so we have everything planned?" kailash asked preethi. preethi was his long time friend & now he had sought her help to plan for deepa's birthday party. preethi had teased him a lot about his 'special' friend whom he was planning the party for. she had even tried to pry on his feelings for deepa but kailash didn't give in an inch. preethi gave up finally & agreed to help him without much questions. "okay, so I just have to bring deepa to the venue & everything will be ready there right?" kailash enquired anxiously. "oh chill buddy. everything will be ready for your deepa." preethi smiled knowingly. kailash heard a throat being cleared behind him & spun around to find deepa.

she was angry at kailash. deepa was angry at kailash because he didn't tell her he was meeting another girl. another pretty girl. deepa was shocked when she saw whom kailash was talking to. he & that girl seemed very close, they were chatting intimately. unable to control her anger & curiosity, deepa marched over to the two lovebirds. kailash looked shocked as he saw her & quickly hid the box behind his back. "hi kailash. why didn't you call me when ur passing by here? and who's this?" deepa asked pointedly, looking at the girl up & down. "oh.. sorry deepa. this is my childhood friend, preethi", "preethi, this is deepa." he introduced them to each other. a knowing look came onto preethi's face as she heard deepa's name. deepa noted that it meant kailash had been talking about her before. determined to set things straight deepa decided to speak with kailash as soon as possible.

CHAPTER 17

"who is she?" deepa enquired kailash in an annoyed tone. "I already told you. she is my best friend preethi." kailash answered her patiently. "I don't believe you. you both look like you are something more than friends." deepa was skecptical. It was then kailash realised that she was jealous. "wait a minute! deepa, you're not jealous are you?" he asked smiling very widely. was there a chance that deepa could actually like him the way he liked her? but deepa shattered all of his daydreams when she vehemently denied that allegation. "no way. I am not jealous kailash. I was just annoyed that you didn't me about your close friend. looks like you don't treat me as your good friend." she went sadly.

"don't be silly. your are one of my best friends deepa." kailash insisted smilingly. but inside his heart he was terribly sad. deepa had seemed like she really liked him. but then again she must have been just concerned about him. if only, if only she could just understand his feelings. sighing in resignation kailash sent off preethi & had lunch with deepa. all throughout the lunch, deepa was in deep thought. why was she getting so jealous of kailash talking to another woman? she loved ajay didn't she? this possessiveness scared her. "is kailash more than a friend to me?" deepa was puzzled beyond comprehension.

"let me walk you home." kailash volunteered as usual. but deepa refused that little help. "no thanks. I can walk home myself." she left abruptly. deepa looked hassled about something. something was bothering her. kailash was also confused about deepa's sudden change in attitude. she had been awfully quiet during lunch. she didn't even laugh at his jokes. when kailash enquired about her silence she just brushed it off nonchalantly. he hoped that deepa would get over her mood swings soon enough so that she could enjoy her birthday in 2 days time. wondering what peculiar type of creatures women were, kailash walked to his shop in a confused mood.

this chapter was a little off cos my mood was spoilt by the power shortage.😕 i am sorry if this chapter wasn't that great. i think my next one will be pretty good. comments & suggestions welcome! next update will be tmr. till then!😃
