CHAPTER 23

kailash drew closer to deepa. his black eyes fixed on her dark brown ones. the distance between them decreased but deepa's breathing had increased. she had become speechless at kailash's sudden boldness & her own desire. she didn't feel like pushing him away at all. she liked being so close to him, to feel his breath on hers, to feel his arms around her her. ever since she had been a little girl deepa had dreamt of finding a guy who will sweep her of her feet & keep her safe in his arms forever. now she saw all that in kailash. not in ajay. "ajay? remember him deepa? the guy whom you were supposed to be in love with??" her brain screamed at her silently.

deepa suddenly realised that what she was doing wasn't proper. being this close to a guy whom she wasn't supposed to be with was wrong. she pushed away kailash hastily and got up, straightening her shirt. "I've got to leave now. sorry." she mumbled & started to leave. but kailash caught hold of her. "deepa, I need to tell you something. it's something that I have been meaning to tell you since a long long time. I never got the courage to say so. but after today, I realised that if I don't tell you, I might never again get the chance." he paused & took a deep breath. " I love you deepa. I actually fell in love with you the moment I saw you. I just realised it quite recently but my love is true. trust me & take my hand. I'll never let you down ever." he told her tenderly, taking her hand into his. deepa was rendered speechless yet again. she didn't know how to react. on one hand, she was glad that kailash had admitted his love for her, on the other was confusion. deepa was confused on who she had real feelings for. her heart felt something for both ajay & kailash.

" I don't know. I really don't know kailash. I need some time to think it over. I hope you understand." she told him frankly. "I know. I know deepa. I understand you completely. I love you but I won't force you." he smiled at her, happy that the heavy burden had been lifted off his chest. "let me drop you home." kailash volunteered sweetly. deepa agreed though reluctantly. they both were silent on the way back to deepa's house. deepa couldn't believe that the same kailash who told her he'd help her win over ajay had himself proposed to her. but what was more unbelievable was that deepa actually felt ecstatic about kailash's proposal. her mind whirling terribly, deepa walked beside kailash not meeting his piercing gaze.

CHAPTER 23

kailash just kept on looking at deepa all the way till her house. he couldn't believe his courage at proposing to her. he could now breathe easy because a burden was off his chest. now the choice was up to deepa on who she was going to choose. but kailash knew deep in his heart that he had prepare for the worst. deepa might reject him or accept him, he had to be ready for both. deepa was avoiding his eyes but she couldn't avoid the fact that she & kailash had shared a very intimate moment together back at the penthouse.

being too busy watching deepa, kailash didn't watch his step & tripped over a stray stone. "watch out!" deepa yelled as she grabbed his arm to steady him. "why don't you watch where you are going?" she asked him angrily. "I was too busy watching you. how could I see the pathway when all I can see is you?" kailash retorted back softly. even in the night kailash saw deepa blush & look away hastily. she was obviously not used to this kind of romantic flirting. "well she must get used to it now." kailash smiled to himself knowingly. he turned to gaze deepa & at the same moment she spun around to meet his eyes as well. they got lost in each other's eyes for some time again until deepa broke the moment. "so can I meet you tomorrow for a date?" kailash questioned deepa cutely.

"I told you I need time to think about this matter." deepa started off tiredly but kailash cut her off. " I know deepa but I'm not asking you for your reply, I am just asking you out on a date. no strings attached." he firmly insisted. "well.. I don't know.. I guess I can come out on just one date." she reluctantly agreed though a part of her was happy. "okay then. I'll meet you at our usual coffee shop tomorrow at 11. we'll have a lunch & then maybe catch a movie later on." he grinned at her widely. deepa nodded & went into the house. after she shut the door she broke into a huge smile herself & immediately raided her wardrobe for the perfect dress. kailash walked back home light headed & truly excited.
