REDEMPTION -129

"Sometimes I feel like if you just watch things, just sit still and let the world exist in front of you - sometimes I swear that just for a second time freezes and the world pauses in its tilt. Just for a second. And if you somehow found a way to live in that second, then you would live forever." Lauren Oliver, Pandemonium

Chennai Police Commissioner Rakesh menon was in his office listening to Assistant commissioner Balaraman reporting to him about the bodies they had found near Rudran's house.

ACP Balaraman " Ten bodies were found and with the other two that we found buried, the total come to twelve.Of these twelve, one body has us stumped for we might never be able to identify it properly for it is missing its head and yet the torso is intact. The two bodies that we dug up has been identified as the Gurkha couple who were in charge of that mansion. We have contacted the owner who is in London and is flying out and will be here in a couple of days."

Rakesh sighed heavily " Balaraman, what about the other nine bodies.Any luck in identifying them."

ACP Balaraman flashed a huge smile " That was easy sir for they have a history of criminal activities and are wanted all over the country for many murders. So i guess, the tenth body that is missing a head could also be a criminal and my opinion is that it is good riddance to bad rubbish.Imagine the amount of time that we would have had to spend on charging them, taking them to court and proving their crimes.I guess we should be thankful to Rudran for cleaning up the city and making it safe for all of us."

Commissioner Rakesh looked at Balaraman " Are you sure it is Rudran?"

Bala smiled " I am hundred percent sure sir for who else can kill as expertly and swiftly as this and we are already witnesses to his means of action.Well, how do you want me to proceed with the situation sir?"

Commissioner Rakesh " quietly and carefully.Let no one know how many bodies we have found or any details of the whole case.I will handle the chief minister who i am supposed to meet and report to later this evening and we will take it from there."

ACP Balaraman looked at his boss " sir,in this age of cameras even on 1000 rs mobiles,we have have been having it lucky so far.But the bodies are piling up in the mortuaries and so too the whispers and rumors."

Rakesh looked at balaraman " what do you mean whispers and rumors.About what?"

Bala looked at Rakesh " sir, these rumors are spreading like wildfire even in our department and a few of my fellow officers have asked me the same. They want to know if the government is covertly running an encounter mission which is resulting in so many death of criminals in the past one month.I have denied any knowledge about it although there are also whispers that there is a secret fight going on between gangs belonging to the underworld from different factions from different metros."

His Samsung galaxy mobile vibrated and dance around the glass table he was sitting at and it flashed " Unknown number" and Rakesh looked at Balaraman " let them talk for we can't do anything about it.Maybe in the next few days we will work on some plan on how to end these rumors. But that will be all for now."

Rakesh picked up his mobile said hello.

" Good morning sir.I am Arul from Madurai and i am here in the city with my sister Jothi. Our mother and queen sends her respects and regards to you and wishes you well."

Thirty years passed in slow motion and the dancing warrior as he slayed those men flashed before Rakesh's eyes and he felt the pain as he remembered Arul dying in Malar's arms as the morning sun covered him in its golden light.

Rakesh was lost for an answer and then taking a deep breath " Thank you Arul. How are both of you doing ?"

" We are okay sir."

Rakesh hesitated and then jumped in " Listen arul, this might sound a bit vague but i owe your parents so much and maybe my very life which i think was a gift from your brave father.I would be very honored and it would make me and my wife very happy,if you could join us for dinner for i would really like to see you both."

" Thank you sir. Both of us will be there and we are honored that a great warrior like you, about whom my mother thinks so highly off has invited us to his home. But sir,it is we,our clan that is in your debt for even when darkness surrounded you,you didn't hesitate and boldly jumped in to take on the danger and the monsters."

" But i am here arul.alive and kicking, when to save me,your father sacrificed his life and your mother has sacrificed so much more.Anyway, thank you for accepting my invitation and i will see you tonight.Bye for now."

Far away, across the Bay of Bengal,in a beach resort on the shores of Thailand,Murky sat anxiously waiting for his brother to call and inform him about what had happened last night.

It was nearly two in the afternoon and nearly twelve back in Chennai and Murky knew something was wrong. He knew he had to move for he had been in the resort for nearly ten days and it was not safe anymore.

Picking up his mobile,he made a call " I need to move and go into hiding.Pick me up now and don't call me on this number again for it won't work anymore."

Ending the call,Murky removed and stepped on the sim and then smashed his mobile into pieces and using his foot, ground it further into smaller pieces.

Half an hour later,he got into the Land rover that came to pick him up and getting into it vanished among the crowded streets.

But not before a laser lit up his back and it was picked up by one of the spy satellites that worked for the NSA of the United states of America.

A moment among many moments and many more to come

I still remember the first tv set they brought home and i still remember that moment as though it happened just now. That moment is frozen in my memory and the time was between 4 and 5 in the evening and we had come back from school.Three to four people struggled to bring this huge coffin to the first floor of the house which
was the end point of Kothari road on one end while the other ended up meeting Sterling road.

It was this small set embedded inside real teak wood cabinet with ornate designs. The two doors opened as if they were trying to duplicate those huge curtains that parted and reveal the white screen in theaters, although some went vertical and straight to the top.

The year was 1976 and Doordarshan had just started broadcasting to madras as chennai was called those days and from the tentative steps of 1975,the programmes now were largely in tamil although it was vague and not very entertaining. But for us vayalum vazhvum and ula varum oli kadhir gave us as much joy as did Kanmani poonga and oliyum ozhiyum.

I used to strain my brain matter a lot on how a person could look black, white, die, come back to life, look younger, look older, sing and dance, be handicapped in so many ways and at the same fight and emote in all those films those days. After seeing the late MGR in Pallandu Vazhga and then seeing him on tv in all those black and white films used to give me sleepless nights as i lay wondering how this was possible for i had no clue it was just movies and in different colors.

There were many times when all alone i used to sneak up to the tv set and sliding the doors open.peek inside desperately searching for all those men and women who sang and danced for us everyday.TV stations, broadcasting, radio waves, satellites were all topics that were as alien to me as were my elders in the house.

A few years later,my cousin sujatha sat behind a cardboard box with shiny jigna paper as the screen and read the news and people went crazy and she was a superstar. My mouth dropped open seeing her behind the tv and sat totally bewitched in the same manner as i did before the Dynora coffin back home.

But even then as right now, television soon lost its gloss, glamor and allure and the only times when i used to flock to the Tv was when my fav actors appeared on the screen and that too only in my fav songs and my all time fav song and fav actor was rajini in that song 'Aagaya Gangai' from the film Dharma yuddham.

I didn't know then why me and many still pause and stare as the song is played like they would stand in attention for the National anthem. This happens all the time when i am in the gym and my coach insists on playing sun music and every other day this song and the other one from Netri kann ' ramanin mohanam' keeps popping up in a predictable fashion.

Today, with a little bit of info on the topic of acting i realise it is simply because of rajini's style and charisma and that X factor which only he has and that which out shone even beauty queen Aishwarya rai's fame looks in the film ENDHIRAN.

I must have been 11 or 12 when superstar rajini beckoned me to come and see Dharma yuddham and with just two rupees in my pocket for the ticket which costed 1.80,i ran nearly three kms from my nungambakkam house near gemini church and all the way to the satyam theater complex, wearing my blue safari suit and matching worn blue hawai rubber slippers.breathless, feet burning from running on the hot,tar road i stood and bought a ticket and then when interval came,i purchase two pop corn packets that were 10 paisa each and lost myself in the magic of the only superstar.

From that moment in the 1980 film Murattu kaslai where rajini says " seeviduven" to the coming release of his latest film Kabali where he says " Kabalida" Rajini retains, remains the only star who even in his mid 60's has gotten better with his trademark style and punch lines.

The new generation can copy, imitate, make fun and still fall flat on their faces and sorry butts for they cannot match to the real and genuine super star of style and personality.

There is only one explaination for this and it comes in that blockbuster scene in the blockbuster movie PADAIYAPPA where Ramya's Neelambari says " Minsara kanna, ellarukum unna yen pidichirukku theriyuma.vayasaanulum,un stylum, azhagum unna vittu pogala and rajini says

" Thank you,thank you,koodave poranthathu.ennikum pogathu."

Summary,Ode

A summary is a brief statement or restatement of main points, especially as a conclusion to a work.

An English ode is a lyrical stanza in praise of, or dedicated to someone or something that captures the poet's interest or serves as an inspiration for the ode.

With those two words i come to you to share my thoughts and grief of another fallen friend.

July 4th is celebrated in america as their Independence day and here in my realm of India,i celebrate it as the birthday of my childhood friend and schoolmate, sanjay dattatri and then the very next day the 5th of july is another childhood friend and schoolmate padmaja's birthday.Out of work, short of cash,i called up sanjay and wished him and told him that my love and wishes were all that i could offer, when in previous years i have gifted him books, music cds, shirts and tees.Sanjay said " your love is priceless and that will do."

The next day,i posted my birthday wishes to paddy and that was that but late in the afternoon, she called me and asked me to join her and venket for a quiet dinner and she said sanjay and bajji aka mrs sanjay aka Gita bukhta and another childhood pal and classmate of mine would also be their.I thanked her and said i would be there.

later in the evening,at about five i drove down to megamart and picked up some clothes for sanjay and paddy and along with my wife landed at their place for dinner.drinks, yes but as usual i nursed a beer which venket stocks and he stocks some exotic stuff and the beer i had was some vague Asahi brand from japan, but unlike the samurai name packed a punch and was awesome.

The night slowly crawled with bitchings, confessions of non-existent sex life and other pet topics of petulant hatred and i should make that plural. But the night was not done and it began with a sms notification on my mobile and i took it and read a message from jayaprakash, one of my beach buddies and the message read " Seshadri is no more."

I placed the beer bottle down and read the message again and again and thought to myself " I spoke to seshadri on thursday evening and although he sounded weak,he told me that he was not giving up fighting."

Fighting, yes, seshadri the warrior had been fighting cancer at a very advanced level and he had been doing battle with it for nearly a year now.He had fought against it a few years back and had defeated it and was in remission and that was probably the time i met him, sometime during 2010 in the peak of my Maharani tv serial moments.

When i say my beach buddies,it means that i met them at the beach and struck up a friendship and that which has endured to date.Funnily, all of them are above sixty and the oldest is raghu mama who is 94 or 95 and who still walks 5 to 7 kms,God bless him and all of them.

Seshadri,a regular was last seen at the beach sometime during mid of last year when we were informed that the dreaded cancer had come back to take his body in its cold, cold arms and this time around, it embraced him as a passionate lover who clung to her partner, not wanting to leave him.

But seshadri jumped in and went through radiation, chemo and all sorts of treatments but it was not to be for his kidneys gave up due to some complication and also due to the steroids he was under.

But the flood of mails kept filling my inbox, though the nature of it were now all about religion and spirituality. When previously, lighthearted po*n jokes and political satire filled his content, now it was all about Redemption and the rise of soul over the mortal and physical body.

Yesterday being the 6th,i stood under the shower and let the water cascade on my head to remove the cobwebs of the asahi beer hangover and then sadly lit the lamp and prayed to god " Boss, when my time comes, please don't let me suffer too much and knock me out and drag me to hell or heaven in a jiffy second and before my body can know it."

As usual my god is silent and as always lets me make my own explanation on such topics.

I purchased a garland and as usual the flower man sold me a 200 rs one for 400 rupees knowing that in my given mood,i would not bicker about prices.I smiled evilly and thought " you too will go one day and i wonder if any of your people will spend 400 rs buying a garland for you."

The door lay open for there was no need to shut it anymore for open or shut,Death cannot be stopped and will come and go as it pleases and i walked through the open door of seshadri's house and there he lay in the freezer box all dressed in white.i too was dressed in a white kurta and pyjama and i smiled at him and said same pinch brother.

He had this gentle smile on his lips and a calm expression on his face as if he was telling the world " Thank god, that episode is over and it is on to the next character, but to me it felt as if he was telling " Sorry satish, see you soon."

I spoke to his gentle wife and gentle children and shared with them my memories of seshadri and then quietly slipped out and away and back to my life.

Very sorry to hear about the loss of your dear friend, Satish.

You have mentioned about his battle with cancer a few times here before.
Sad to know that he is no more...
but he is in a pain-free world now.

May his soul rest in peace and may his family find strength to endure at this difficult time.

Take comfort in knowing that he cherished the beach moments and valued your online friendship.

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

"I wonder if my first breath was as soul-stirring to my mother as her last breath was to me.

"But she wasn't around, and that's the thing when your parents die, you feel like instead of going in to every fight with backup, you are going into every fight alone."

"Whoever said that loss gets easier with time was a liar. Here's what really happens: The spaces between the times you miss them grow longer. Then, when you do remember to miss them again, it's still with a stabbing pain to the heart. And you have guilt. Guilt because it's been too long since you missed them last."

"He Is Not Dead

I cannot say, and I will not say
That he is dead. He is just away.
With a cheery smile, and a wave of the hand,
He has wandered into an unknown land
And left us dreaming how very fair
It needs must be, since he lingers there.
And you"oh you, who the wildest yearn
For an old-time step, and the glad return,
Think of him faring on, as dear
In the love of There as the love of Here.
Think of him still as the same. I say,
He is not dead"he is just away."
James Whitcomb Riley

"Closed eyes, heart not beating, but a living love."

"People in the real world always say, when something terrible happens, that the sadness and loss and aching pain of the heart will "lessen as time passes," but it isn't true. Sorrow and loss are constant, but if we all had to go through our whole lives carrying them the whole time, we wouldn't be able to stand it. The sadness would paralyze us. So in the end we just pack it into bags and find somewhere to leave it."

Rise

"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

Here today, gone tomorrow and a life's journey is over like that,a flick,a snap and just like a soap bubble that hangs so tantalisingly close to your fingers and yet breaks, explodes the moment you touch it.

When i was a kutty, these small wooden pipes along with a small plastic bottle holding some exotic soap solution used to be sold near the entrances of our schools and sometimes shops too.

Then as now i still have to reason why i spent many a saturday afternoon and many a weekday evening back from school blowing those soap bubbles and then begging them not to float away and yet even the lightest breeze whisked them away in its invisible caress.I sometimes gave chase as these bubbles heavy and swollen like a full term pregnant woman found it difficult to take off and skimmed just in reach of me and my even kuttier cousins fingers and with a soft pop, they burst and scattered in riot of colors.

I used to hold my breath and blow out a continuous stream of bubbles and ten, twenty took flight and i watched them with fascination as the sun flashed through them showing them as empty and yet they were full of air and remained round and a sweet, colorful, transparent bubble.

Maybe our lives are like those bubbles of different shapes and some rise, some fall and some just don't take off.

I know that i haven't posted a new chapter of redemption for some time now and i am sorry about that for it was neither deliberate nor intentional and just that as usual death leaves me sad, empty and clueless about the comings and goings of lives.

There is a sense of guilt,a feeling of impotence and even larger feeling of inevitability that the person you cared for is never coming back, not ever. That sense of doom, destruction leaves you with a feeling and thoughts that go like " what is the point? we are all going to die,we all have to go,why fight, why rise, why ambitions and simply why live at all?"

I think secretly,i have always been scared of death and what it means and now as i am getting older,i get even more scared and worried that i will lose more and more souls who i care for very dearly and without who i just cannot exist. This numbing fear, this mortal worry freezes my limbs and more importantly short circuits my brain and my thoughts are lost.

Sometimes as i lay awake in the dark of the night, when everything is slumbering around me,thoughts, stories, plots waft through my mind and i smile as i plan on a new story and new characters with which to entertain you all and then like that soap bubble, they rise and explode and vanish, leaving behind only a wisp,a ghost of what i had experienced.I can safely say, that if i had the power to harness, grasp and hold on to all those thoughts over all these years,i would have by now written at least 30 to 40 stories.

I will let you in two such plots that bloomed in my mind and i hope to give them shape, body and life someday.

The first story is of a young boy whose parents have been brutally murdered by someone unknown and has now got to go live away from his home with some distant relations. But he stands to inherit a huge fortune worth hundreds of crores and one day he sits and plans something on google. He looks for someone who can avenge the killings of his parents and promises to pay them their price when he inherits his fortune. He gets a reply and someone accepts his offer and the killings start.

The chennai city police have no clue as to who is killing their top politicians, police officers and government officials and the race is on.

The second story is the killing of an army man and his family and although it is rumored that they were murdered by a ruling party minister, the rumors are soon killed.A female journalist tracks the story and across the border in afghanistan a mother tells her son,who is a mujahideen commander that the dead colonel was his biological father. The man crosses border and comes to chennai to pay his respects to his dead father and family and crosses path with the journalist and together they solve the case.

Anyway, leave alone me being satish, think of me as a fellow traveler on this journey called life and one which we all are traveling on,fighting, surviving and hanging on,barely.

See you all very soon.Lots of love.

"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on." robert frost

REDEMPTION -130

Life is precious. Not because it is unchangeable, like a diamond, but because it is vulnerable, like a little bird. To love life means to love its vulnerability, asking for care, attention, guidance, and support. Life and death are connected by vulnerability. The newborn child and the dying elder both remind us of the preciousness of our lives. Let's not forget the preciousness and vulnerability of life during the times we are powerful, successful, and popular.-Henri Nouwen

EYES IN THE SKIES- YOU ARE BEING WATCHED

Right at this moment,is can be safely said that there are nearly 1,100 working satellites orbiting the earth in various heights of orbit. The satellites orbit the earth in three positions and they are Low Earth orbit (LEO,between 160 to 2000 kms),Medium Earth orbit(MEO,between 2,000 and 30,000 kms),Geostationary orbit(GEO,between 32,000 kms and above).

Of these 1000 and more satellites, many hundreds owned by the super powers use the Low earth orbit for military purposes and they are called spy satellites.A low Earth orbit is simplest and cheapest for satellite placement. It provides high bandwidth and low communication time lag (latency), but satellites in LEO will not be visible from any given point on the Earth at all times.spy satellites use LEO as they are able to see the surface of the Earth more clearly as they are not so far away. They are also able to traverse the surface of the Earth. A majority of artificial satellites are placed in LEO, making one complete revolution around the Earth in about 90 minutes.

Since it requires less energy to place a satellite into a LEO and the LEO satellite needs less powerful amplifiers for successful transmission, LEO is still used for many communication applications. Because these LEO orbits are not geostationary, a network (or "constellation") of satellites is required to provide continuous coverage. Low Earth orbiting satellites (LEOs) are often deployed in satellite constellations, because the coverage area provided by a single LEO satellite only covers a small area that moves as the satellite travels at the high angular velocity needed to maintain its orbit. Many LEO satellites are needed to maintain continuous coverage over an area. This contrasts with geostationary satellites, where a single satellite, moving at the same angular velocity as the rotation of the Earth's surface, provides permanent coverage over a large area.

Examples of satellite constellations include the Global Positioning System (GPS), Galileo and GLONASS constellations for navigation and geodesy, the Iridium and Globalstar satellite telephony services, the Disaster Monitoring Constellation and RapidEye for remote sensing, the Orbcomm messaging service, Russian elliptic orbit Molniya and Tundra constellations, the large-scale Teledesic and Skybridge broadband constellation proposals of the 1990s, and more recent systems such as O3b or the OneWeb proposal.

Broadband applications benefit from low-latency communications, so LEO satellite constellations provide an advantage over a geostationary satellite, where minimum theoretical latency from ground to satellite is about 125 milliseconds, compared to 1-4 milliseconds for a LEO satellite. A LEO satellite constellation can also provide more system capacity by frequency reuse across its coverage, with spot beam frequency use being analogous to the frequency reuse of cellular radio towers.Satellite constellation coverage and geometry"determining the minimum number of satellites needed to provide a service, and their orbits"is a field in itself.A group of formation-flying satellites very close together and moving in almost identical orbits is known as a satellite cluster or Satellite formation flying.

EYES OF AMERICA

The Americans have a couple of publicly known spy satellite constellations and they are KH-11 reconnaissance satellite and the Lacrosse series. The man on the ground in Thailand working for the united states was using his laser finder and the same gadget had means to talk to the KH-11 satellite that monitored south east asian region which immediately picked up the flare of laser and its cameras zoomed in and they tracked the white Land rover as it made its way into the city.Information was transmitted at speeds of light and soon everyone involved had a printout on their desks in minutes.

The Indian CIA station chief William harvey looked at his team " Send the information to our Indian friends and don't leave out even a bit".

One of the members looked at him with surprise " But sir,we can handle this ourselves and don't need the Indians or anyone else to enter and meddle with our operations. We have men trained specifically to handle these kinds of situations."

William shook his head " True but think of all the ramifications and the alarm bells it will set ringing among the chinese, north koreans and the russians.whatever way i look at it,we won't be able to justify putting american troops no ground and on a friendly country.Right now we first have to assess how big the threat is to us and the world at large. Our nearest base is in Phillippines and south korea and any movement of our ships towards the seas of thailand will be frowned upon and taken as a threat by both north korea and vietnam. But assemble a team and send them undercover in a fishermans trawler.I will call our sections chiefs in south korea and phillippines and see what we can do on such short notice."

CHAKRAVYUH

Prime minister Jagannath mishra quietly listened to Gen.veer singh as he summarized the meeting which had just been held with the Americans.Against norms, the home minister and defence minister along with RAW chief sujinder khanna were also there and sitting quietly along the wall was rudran.

The prime minister closed his eyes in weariness " Is there no end to the atrocities of these fanatics and they do all this in the name of ALLAH and Islam.Their very purpose seems to be chaos and terror and has nothing to do with GOD or faith. It is truly sad what the world has come to even after so much advancements in all fields but sadly not in the most important field and that is tolerance and respect for other lives.Countless wars, millions of lives have been lost over the millenniums and all in the name of faith and belief."

Tiredly he reached for a glass of water and taking a sip of it,glanced at rudran who stared back and both exchanged their disillusionment of humans and their perversions.

Prime minister Jagannath mishra looked at Gen.veer singh " how are we going to handle this?"

Gen.veer " quietly and on two fronts.First we tackle these terrorists who have landed in mumbai and delhi and at the same time, send a team to thailand to see what we can do or how much information we can gather from that individual who rudran thinks is an indian citizen."

The prime minister " a team to thailand. How many?"

" Just one sir,for now."

The prime minister smiled sadly " One man and i bet it is going to be mr.rudran."

Gen.veer singh " sir,the rest of the team who are nearly as capable as rudran are right now working across the border in pakistan and afghanistan and one is in china. But,even if they all were here, they would agree that rudran is the best man for these kind of assignments."

" But why rudran? why put him in harms way again and again?"

Gen.veer confused at this line of questioning, sat still for a moment staring at his desk and then turned to look at rudran and taking a deep breath faced his boss " sir,you are just about to complete your first term as a prime minister and i am sorry if you have not been updated with all the details of the going on in my field of spies and terrorism. But the fact of the matter is,Rudran remains the only person who outclassed his mentors both in Mossad and in the CIA.Whether it was in the field of logistics, planning and carrying out a certain mission, his trainers and teachers felt he was in a different league and then they told me something incredible which i am going to share with you all for the very first time."

" They told me that although he was good and the very best among them, the people who trained him felt he was using just a fraction of his potential and that he did whatever he did with very little effort."

The prime minister nodded " so,isn't that all the more reason for us to keep him back and just use him in the planning stage rather than deploying him as a weapon in the field against proven dangers and unknown terrors that might just one day end his very life."

Everybody remained silent and then the prime minister looked at Rudran " mr.rudran, anything to say before you leave."

Rudran nodded " yes sir and with your permission."

" Well then, come sit next to me and lets bang our heads and come up with a plan to negate this new terror."

Rudran politely stood up and pulled a chair and facing his team sat down with a worried look " Of all the developed countries in the world,India, our country faces the largest threat from all sides. To the East, millions pour through our porous border that we have with bangladesh and to the west lie pakistan and afghanistan and to the north lie nepal and china. In the south, sri lanka is aggressively pursuing a military partnership with both pakistan and china. So,we are surrounded on all sides by countries who hate us or to say the least don't consider us their friends.

If we are attacked through biological weapons,i doubt if there is much we can do than watch millions die for most of our public utilities are neither protected nor well looked after. But then there is one thing that we have on our side and that is patriotism and if the word is sent out, then it wouldn't be long before we nab these two terrorists who have entered our land. They can run but they cannot hide for long."

Gen.veer singh nodded and looking at the prime minister " rudran is absolutely right."

Rudran continued " but sir,i have my doubts if these two are here to wage a biological war on our nation and at worst i think they are on a reconnaissance mission. They have come to meet and plan the next stage and that is what worries me and i hope we have enough time left before their next team arrives. If we can find out who they are meeting, then that will put us in front of them and we can think and plan ahead."

The prime minister worriedly " you think one of our citizens would help these bas***ds to carry out and attack on out country."

Rudran leaned back " Sir,if you look back at nearly 500 years of our history, you will notice a remarkable thing and that is we so called indians are not bothered about who rules us or which religion they belong to.The mughals and the british ruled and dominated us for nearly 500 years and yet nothing was done about it and it finally took a man like gandhi and others with the same sense to rally and rouse our spirits and dignity. So,believe me,there are many indians out there who will sell the country if they can make a quick buck."

The prime minister looked at Gen.veer singh " okay,go ahead and do what you have to do and you have my full authorization for it."

Rudran caught the prime ministers eye " sir, could you spare a few minutes for i need to talk to you in private."

Everyone left the small conference room and they left the prime minister and rudran to their private talks.

Prime minister jagannath mishra looked at rudran " Son,how have you been?"

Rudran humbly " i am okay sir."

" Tell me rudran, how can i help you?"

Rudran spoke quickly in whispers for a few minutes and then handed over a folder to the prime minister and leaning back watched as his boss went through the folder's contents.

Shocked and with a sense of dread, the prime minister looked up at rudran " Did all this really happen? But how is that it has been kept under wraps all this while."

Rudran remained quiet and the prime minister with a weary sigh " Okay, but when and how do you want to go about it?"

" After this current problem is dealt and done with."

The prime minister nodded " all right and all the very best child and thank you for all that you are doing."

I am happy to inform you all that i finished my dubbing yesterday for the film IRU MUGAN.Went off well and though a small portion i think i have done a decent job considering that i had absolutely no preparation for it or the time to absorb it.

I was at home having lunch, when the associate director kumaran, who i had worked with in ARIMA NAMBI called and asked if i could come over to the location immediately.

finished lunch, shaved, showered and was there in the spot in under an hour and then sat for an hour, cluless as to what was happening.

Then the assistant director comes and takes me to meet anand shankar, the director who looked really stressed.

The actor who was supposed to play the role had a real stroke of bad luck and i mean real bad and tragic.

He come in the morning all ready and is getting his make up done and just as he is getting ready to for the scene, gets a call that his dad has passed away and leaves grief stricken and also leaves the entire team grief stricken and not knowing what to do or who to cast.

Then somebody suggests my name and the rest is history.I use the word history for unlike a tv serial or its episodes, films last and last forever and i can safely say that long after all those who worked in a film are gone, there will be people who will see the film and remark, comment and remember.

Well, slipping into a uniform that did not fit me,a role that i had not rehearsed i stood facing chiyaan vikram and thambi ramaiah and slipped into the role of a malaysian deputy commissioner who is in charge of a ministers security.

The director whispered,i nodded and off i went diving in a new role but with years of experience.

Standing straight, eyes deadly serious,no nonsense air, limited words and body movements i thought and well 1st take okay.

The director smiled and shook his head and then close ups and then suggestions and just like that a scene was over and i left to get back to my home.

Next day, continuation of the same scene without vikram and with thambi ramaiah and an action block, although the scene has been heavily edited and chopped and little is on screen.

We started by 10.00 am and finished by lunch and then i snoozed in the caravan and waited and waited.

Finally i was told my work was over and i went to say bye to the anand shankar and asked him if he was happy with my work,

he looked at me " naa ethir paakale.Intha role, intha scene ivvalavu varumnu konjam kooda ethir paakale. You finished everything with such speed and skill that i felt guilty for giving you such a small role. But i promise you that i will do better in the next film and give you a bigger role."

i humbly thanked him and then went to say bye to kenny as i know him while for the world he is chiyaan.

It was the next caravan and there were fifty to sixty people waiting to take photos with him and then his make up assistant who had come to pick up some juice for the star saw me and informed chiyaan and the door opened and i was called in.

Bloody hell, the man stood up and gave me a hug and told me to keep fighting, keep trying and not to lose hope and that eventually things will happen.

I thanked him, wished him and his family the best and left.

IRU MUGAN OVER.NOW ONLY THE RELEASE IS LEFT.

It's really nice to read through your thoughts while shooting and dubbing for the film IRU MUGAN, Satish...
I'm already excited to see you again on the big screen!

I'm glad you got a role in this film as I'm sure this movie will do well...
it will be amazing to watch two real-life inspiring actors like you and Vikram sharing screen-space together!
And considering Vikram - Harris Jayaraj track record of past hits which include "Samurai", "Saamy", "Arul", "Anniyan" and "Bheema"...
I'm sure at least one melodious song from this film will stand out in people's ears for many years to come!
Hope lady superstar Nayanthara will rub off some good luck charm here too.

I think even if it is a large-scale film budget made with a big actor like Vikram where you are given a small role to play in the film...
the beauty of the concept "being there at the right time, at the right place with the right person" is well brought out through your experience.

You say you play a small role in the film...
but to the person who suggested your name as an immediate replacement for the role of a Malaysian deputy commissioner...he did NOT think small of you!
And this is where your true success lies, Satish.

We often think big, aim big, dream of becoming big...
wish and pray for better opportunities, better work, better roles, better pay...
but we often neglect that if we can do the small things given to us in a great way...
opportunities will find their route to knock on our own doorstep too!

Vikram is a wonderful actor and a real-life inspiration.
This is taken straight from Wikipedia:

"During his struggling phase, Vikram dubbed for other heroes in films including voices for Prabhu Deva in Kaadhalan and Minsara Kanavu, Ajith Kumar in Amaravathi and Abbas in Kandukondain Kandukondain respectively. Vikram has mentioned that he did not look down on dubbing and saw it as a "dignity of labour". During the period he also attended dancing classes every day, and tried acting out different scenes, different characters with his small group of friends. He began to turn down chances to play supporting roles in films and was intent on making a breakthrough as a lead actor and notably turned down the role of Swarnamalya's fiance in Mani Ratnam's Alaipayuthey.Vikram also rejected approaches from television serial producers, citing that working in television would reduce his chances of becoming a mainstream actor. He also refused opportunities to take part in film events as a backing dancer, with actor Sriman revealing that Vikram was "one amongst not many" who was not interested in travelling to Canada to participate in such shows."

It's nice to reflect and appreciate that two real-life inspiring actors like you and Vikram have come together to share screen-space on the big screen.

"Being there at the right time, at the right place with the right person" does involve a bit of luck...
but when you do small things in a great way...luck favours and tilts towards your side!

So smile and move forward confidently for your next exciting role as an actor.
Wishing you all the very best in your career, Satish.

Looking forward to the film's release soon!
Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to Ch. 131 of Redemption very soon too!
