REDEMPTION New Delhi -125

He felt the person's eyes on him and knew instantly who it was and struggling to compose himself,he looked into the eyes of Dr.Otto hauptman who sat across him in the farthest corner.Dr.Otto looked at him calmly and then very subtly shook his head and raising a finger to his lips,turned his attention back to the screen.

Rudran took deep breaths and willing his mind now focused his eagle eyes on the large screen and like everyone saw that the three men had been photographed by some one else too and they had obviously done a good job.

Yet,even here the photographer had taken these pics from a position of disadvantage since like in the earlier batch of photos the dark skinned man had his back to the photographer.

The u.s ambassador whispered something to the CIA Delhi station chief and he in turn spoke something to one of the two aides who accompanied him and nodding the man stood up and taking the remote from gen.veer singh turned and looked at everybody.

" I know that most of you will be wondering and a bit worried as to us being here and rightfully so for the next photos that i am going to display make no sense at all for it involves a very famous person.But it was more than enough for us to be on global alert and watch these men every second of the day.But first,please take a look at the photos."

The next batch of photos had been shot in Hong kong and it featured the same two Indonesians but this time with a Japanese man who Rudran knew instantly as Haruto Takahashi,a nobel prize winner in Molicular biology.

The American looked at all of them " The japanese guy is dr.Haruto Takahashi and the other two men go by the names of Abdul and Rasool and are members of Jemaah Islamiyah Islamist from Indonesia."

The screen went dark and the lights came on but the darkness of fear kind of had gripped everyone's mind and the American security expert spoke " Yes,this was the same reaction from all of us back in Europe and in the united states and i think we are right in being worried.These photos were taken last month in Hong kong during a medical conference of all the leading world researchers in molecular biology and vaccinations against new and resilient strain of viruses.If Haruto Takahashi had been on his own then there would have been nothing to worry about and we wouldn't be gathered here at all but sadly the situations is fluid and worrisome for the two men who Haruto Takahashi is talking to are members of the Jemaah Islamiyah Islamist terror group that is based in Indonesia and has strong links to the Al queda and ISIS."

Everyone remained silent for the implications could not be ignored and then the American looked at Rudran with respect " sir,any thoughts on these photos."

Rudran looked at Gen.veer singh who nodded " I guess my thoughts are the same as yours and they are pretty frightening.The photo of a world famous molecular biologist chatting with two known terrorists is really worrisome and throws up lot of scary and dreadful scenarios and none are pleasant."

The CIA security aide stared at rudran " But what do you think is the motive behind this meeting of the doctor with known terrorists?"

Rudran closed his eyes for a second and his brain cranked out all possibilities and yet one stood out and opening his eyes " Dr.Haruto Takahashi looks like he is in his early or mid eighties and just that number is enough for one possibility and a scary one at that.If you minus the years from the time you dropped the nuclear bombs on japan to the current date it leaves you with a young boy who must have been between the age of ten to thirteen.Since we have seen so much of Dr.Haruto Takahashi on the world stage of medicine for the past 60 years,it is safe to conclude that he escaped the ravages of the nuclear bombs and yet surely he must have lost many a family member to the destruction.There itself is your motive and yet what remains unclear is why he is meeting with known terrorists or if all this has been going on for a long time and it has reached its climax.If that is so then this is no time for talk but to act.Nab the doctor and make him talk and reveal what is going on."

The CIA security aide sighed and looked at his boss who nodded " sadly,we just received news before this meeting began that Dr.Haruto Takahashi committed suicide and left behind a note with what seems like a poem.

Here is a photo of the paper on which the poem was left behind."

Rudran stared at the screen as the man zoomed and enlarged the paper so that everyone could read the contents clearly.

It was beautifully written on thick and expensive cream colored paper and the words of the poem left everyone with tears in their eyes.

Flashback to chapter 73

Haruto whispered ' Misaki,hear your brother's voice as he cries for you.Little one,haruto has not forgotten you or will ever forget you.Dainty one,little angel the time has come for revenge.I know in my heart that you will not approve of your brothers actions for that is not the way of a proud samurai and not the way of true warrior.But then their actions were not that either and their bombs killed thousands of innocents.Now let them know that the dead are not dead and are rising for vengeance.I rise with them and i seek Redemption.'

I seek Redemption for living so long when you and the rest have gone to the other world,where you wail in pain and sorrow.I hear your voices and i feel your pain and i am coming to join you but not alone for i am bringing Millions of Gaijin with me.

The Indian Defence minister Mr.Shashikant yadav was really worried and wondered where it was all leadin to "Okay,i think you have scared us enough but please,could you tell us why you are here and why we are all assembled here looking at all these pictures.For from what i can gather,it is the united states that needs to be worried about for the poem clearly states the late doctors state of mind and also very clearly at whom his anger is pointed at."

The Indian station CIA chief William Harvey got up and walked out and facing everybody " Honorable minister,i am sorry but these next pictures that i am going to show you will reveal why we are all here and also importantly why we are sharing this information with you and your men."

Using the remote,he started the next slide show and the pictures were of the Thailand airport and also the Singapore airport.They showed people boarding Indian airlines flights and nothing looked out of ordinary.

William Harvey " Okay,this is where it starts to get interesting but before i come to that i have a question for Rudran,"

He looked at rudran " mr.rudran,what information were you able to gather from these photos ?"

Rudran now totally alert and his primitive instincts screaming alert " Both the flights are heading towards India.one to Mumbai and the other to New Delhi."

The minute the words came out of his mouth,Rudran knew what was going to be said and he looked at major.Param and whispered " F... B...s.They are already here and i hope it is not too late."

William Harvey zoomed in one photo and tapped a mans face and then looked at everyone " That is one of the most feared Assassins of that Islamic group and i am sorry to say that the flight he boarded landed in Mumbai a week ago.Likewise,another dreaded killer flew into new Delhi last week and that is all we know.So,tell me minister,is this a problem only to be faced by America or is it now yours also for it is obvious that they are running free in your country.But now add the late doctor,the terrorists and what you have is Bioterrorism and if that does not scare and worry you,then i am not sure what else will.Our presence here is to help you nab those two and find out what they are up to and we have to do it as quickly as possible before it becomes too late for then we will be staring at a global disaster and maybe a complete annihilation of the human population."

Both the Indian cabinet ministers knew that they had a possible disastrous situation on hand and were lost for words.

Defence minister Shashikant composing himself " okay,you have our complete attention and i promise complete co-operation with whatever you propose to do but what are we looking at?"

CIA chief William Harvey looked at all of them sadly " For the past twenty years Dr.Haruto Takahashi was working on vaccines for two deadly viruses and they were the Marburg virus and Ebola virus.Sadly,both carry nearly 90 percent mortality rate.Now the million dollar question is whether the doctor was working on a vaccine for these deadly viruses or was he genetically mutating them into even potent strains that might have 100 percent mortality rate.And what scares me personally is what if he had mutated the viruses so that it can be transported via water and air.Imagine these viruseS being let loose in some centrally air conditioned building like an airport,shopping mall or in large office complexes."

CIA chief William Harvey then showed them the effects of the virus on humans and Rudran knew that most in the room wouldn't be touching meat for a few days and would stick to fruits and vegetables.

Defence minister shashikant looked at his people and then facing the CIA station chief " Okay Mr.William.What do you want us to do?"

" Start tracking the movements of both these men from the moment they landed in India.Remember,that they are one week ahead of us and we have to get going.Then you need to quietly put the country on full alert and increase security in all airports and ports.see that photos of both these men are sent to every security agency and start looking for them.monitor railway stations,highways and all modes of transports and keep an alert eye for these two men.When located,contact us for if they are in possession of any Bioterrorism agent,then only we have the means to handle it.I have requested the American president to send one of our teams to fly out and they will be here in two days."

With a plan in action,everyone got up to go about their duties but Rudran sat quietly staring into space as his brain formulated and envisioned various scary scenarios that he and his country might have to face in the coming days and weeks.

His body trembled with anger knowing that the bas***d Murky was at the center of it all and wished he had his hands around his neck and was squeezing the life out of him,bit by bit.

Feeling the gentle touch on his shoulder,Rudran looked up to see Gen.Veer Singh standing with both the home and Defence minister and dr.otto stood next to them.

Rudran hurriedly stood up and saluted both the ministers and Defence minister Shashikant " good job sir.very good job.I have heard the prime minister talk about you a couple of times and now i know what he meant and also realise why he has so much respect and love for you.All the best."

Rudran nodded " thank you sir.Just doing my duty."

Both the ministers smiled to themselves and the home minister looked at Rudran " I only wish everyone had the same spirit and approach to their work."

Both the ministers left and then Gen.Veer singh " Rudy,you remember Dr.Otto from israel don't you?"

Rudran and dr.otto looked at each other and rudran nodded " sir,the doctor couldn't beat me in chess when we played in jerusalem and i think he has come all the way to delhi to beat me on my turf.High hopes."

Dr.Otto shook rudrans hand " high hopes indeed Rudran or just a pipe dream.But then i have my doubts if anyone can beat you in anything."

Gen.veer singh laughed aloud " you are right doctor for coming to think of it,i have never seen Rudran lose at anything,however great the odds are.The man is truly blessed with nine lives and definitely not human."

Dr.otto looked smilingly " come on veer,even rudran must have something human in him.what do you say rudran."

Rudran had played many a game of chess with the doctor and knew that a pawn had just been moved and deep in his brain a sudden burst of electrical activity raged as if an ancient beast that had slumbered for far too long was gently being woken up.

The boy who went into the dark and came back with light.

The grains of sand from the beach stick,stay and travel home with me
I untie the laces and as i remove the shoes the beach sprinkles
onto my mosaic tiles and i smile but also know that my wife is
going to bring the roof down when she finds the beach in the house
I greet the sun on the beach everyday and though i turn my back
and head home into the confines and brick cage of my life
the sun stays in my soul blazing gold,erasing the cold
the sands reminds me that they are there and beckon me in the night
wake up,wake up satish.come out and play
back to the beach,back to the salty waves,back to the soft sands
whose touch are like the caress of a million loving hands
and the gold of the sun,the caws of the crows,the whines of dogs
and alone i howl my pleasure aloud as a war cry that life is momentary
for life is living every moment and dying the next moment
so life here i am and here i come for more
suns,more seas and more sands
and here comes my wife with the broom stick
to sweep the floor clean.

Rudran looked at Dr.Otto Hauptman and then at his boss Gen.veer singh who understood the question that quizzed in his eyes " The good doctor was here in delhi for some meeting that i will go in latter in detail and when we made the request for his presence here today,he immediately obliged,and for that our country is thankful and grateful.

Dr.otto smiled " if i can use a quote here by Rabbi Metzger during the first Jewish-Hindu interfaith leadership summit which was held in New Delhi,and that is Jews have lived in India for over 2,000 years and have never been discriminated against. This is something unparalleled in human history.

When my people were being hunted,killed,persecuted all over the world,your great nation was one of the very few places where we could live in peace with our beliefs and our ways.For that we will always be in your debt for otherwise we would have been still wandering the world as dust in the wind.But all that for some other day over a drink for today is all about the late doctor and what he has let loose from his pandora's box."

Raw chief Sujinder khanna joined them and threw his arm around Rudran " Rudy,is there a limit to your knowledge for each time i meet you,i learn something new about your capabilities.I think we all have come to the conclusion that you are mind is more useful than your physical prowess and skills.So no more assignments or dangerous operations but a desk job in the least or just reconnaissance for others with guns and knives."

Rudran slightly shocked " But sir,is my life more valuable then my fellow officers and men.I am sorry sir but i beg to differ,for i think we all are equal and contribute the same,whether it is a gram or a Ton."

Gen.veer singh " Rudy,sujinder didn't mean to lessen the efforts of others but was being practical and realistic.For in the end,you are equal to hundreds or more men.We can send a force of 100 to deal with a problem but sometimes we prefer to send you in for you complete the whole process,starting from threat assessment,reconnaissance and if necessary deal with the threat then and there.We can train 100's and thousands to fight,shoot and kill but we can train only a few men like you for sadly there are only a few men like you.That is why we don't want to lose you in some mission that can be handled by others."

Rudran looked at both Gen.veer singh and Raw chief Sujinder khanna " well,after hearing what i am about to tell you,you will certainly would not want me behind a desk."

Rudran looked at dr.otto " Doctor,i mean no offense but you will have to excuse us for these are related to certain sensitive intelligence matters and they are of immediate concern to our nations security."

Dr.otto hauptman shrugged " I understand and i will see you soon.maybe we can have dinner later this evening and also play a game of chess in quiet."

Rudran nodded " sure doctor."

All three waited until he was out of earshot and Rudran looked at the general and chief sujinder " sir,i know who that Indian was in the photos that were just shown to us.His name is Murky AKA Markandeyan."

Gen.veer singh hurriedly " wait,not the same criminal bas***d that you sent packing and who has gone into hiding."

" The same guy sir and he is from madurai."

Rudran watched as both his bosses looked at each other and then Gen.Veer singh turned to him " when can you leave to Thailand."

" As soon as i have a new passport and documents ready."

RAW chief sujinder made a call and after speaking a for a few moments looked at Rudran " what name do you want the passport to be made out to?"

" Bhairav sir.I want the passport to be made out in the name of Bhairav."

REDEMPTION -128

Rudran knew that he had just about ten to twenty minutes before he would be pulled in for high level meeting in which the main agenda would be the threat that was facing them and how best to tackle it with the resources on hand.

He quickly called renuka and she answered breathlessly " Hi,How are you?"

The gloom that had settled on his mind lifted on hearing her voice " I am okay.I just had a few minutes to breathe and all i could think of was you and hearing your voice."

There was a few seconds of silence,but it was filled with each others thoughts and the love they felt for one another.

" Rudran,listen.I have no intention of becoming a queen and living in some jungle or on top of a mountain,okay."

Puzzled," what queen and what jungle?"

He heard the chuckles and hurriedly " Oh,you mean last night and the way those two addressed me as their king.Come on,you don't believe all that fairy tale nonsense do you.I dont have even have a clue as to what they were going on about.But like i told you i will handle it once i am done here."

Renuka " No,but i liked it when they called you their king and leader.You are a king,even if you don't know you are one.And what is important is that you are my king too and i don't mind being your queen or in the worst case ,one of your concubines,in case you decide to have a harem."

Rudran laughing loudly " You are hilarious and have a perverted sense of humor.do you know that.You are my queen and will be the only queen that fills my soul and hopefully my bed."

Renuka's voice quivered " I wanted to talk to you about something but looks like you have your hands full there in delhi.Please come back fast,for i miss you terribly."

" I miss you too and i promise i will be back soon.Please,don't leave the safety of the house for you know what the dangers are.My only worry is that i am not there,next to you to protect you at all times.By the way,how is the big fur ball doing."

Renuka looked at Buddha " He is fine for all he does is sleep and does not move an inch but for his meals and a drink of water.I let him out in the morning and late in the evening.He refuses to come in to the house at night and constantly walks around the whole compound,checking out every noise and every little movement.My parents are very happy with him and the whole security team are mightily relieved with him around for they feel he is no ordinary dog and is blessed with some kind of super sense."

A staff member of his team came rushing in and signaled to rudran that they were waiting for him.

Rudran " Okay,renu.I have to go and i will call you later in the night.Bye for now.I love you."

Renu stared at the mobile as the call ended and slowly the light on the screen faded away.She had wanted to tell him that he was going to be a father and also share with him the vision that she had seen in the morning light,but had hesitated for she knew that his mind was busy with other important matters.She gently stroked her stomach region and whispered " A king and soon a prince or a princess."
