Banta " Oh yah, what a coincidence. Our Prime Minister is also called Nawaz Shareef"

Paki " Banta, do not pull my leg. I know he is Manmohan Singh"

Banta " Oh yes, But he is Na-Awaz but very Shareeef"

In a summer break my best friend and his cousins were in a family vacation in Amritsar and rented a car to go around the town. The cab driver was an old Sardar ji. To irritate the old Sardar, they were cracking various Sardar jokes, some funny ones, some not very funny ones (you know what I mean?). However, the cab driver was never mad with them rather laughing the whole time. Finally, they paid the cab cost.

The Sardar returned the change. Moreover, he gave each one of them one rupee extra and said - Boys, all afternoon you have been enjoying Sardar jokes. I am listening to them all and let me tell you, some of them were in a very bad taste. Still, I don't mind because I know that you are young kids and you still have to see and learn a lot in life. But I have just one request - Here I am giving you one rupee each. Give it to the first Sardar beggar that you come across in this city or wherever."

My friend continued - "That one rupee coin is still with me. I couldn't find a single Sardar begging - from the streets of Amritsar all the way to America."

Brink of the abyss

Most of the nations are on the brink
like skaters on a slippery icy rink
ready to crumble,ready to explode
they are on the brink of civil war
and total poverty is not very far
They fight for god and over god
they fight for rights, right to might
and all they want is fight, fight
fight day and night
The world is stuck on oil
and it is a topic always on the boil
it all seems so funny
like a shakespeare comedy underlined with tragedy
the afghans fought the russians with the americans
now they fight the americans with the chinese and pakistanis
the pakistanis take help from the americans
and use it to buy weapons which kill americans in afghanistan
osama helped the americans and then killed many americans
americans helped osama to kill russians
and in the end they killed osama
saddam helped the americans against the iranians
and in the end the americans got saddam hung
after finding him hiding like a rat in a hole
a hole yes people
and imagine this,he had a gold seat for his asshole
gold potty and me wonders if he shat gold bars

the world is on the brink and you wonder why
a bomb here,a bomb there and soon it will be your ass and mine
plastered and splattered on the ceiling

The war here in india is not about pakistanis or chinese
leave alone the sleazy bangladeshis
but our own,our very own
oranges rules, orange destroys and orange goes to temple
in the color of saffron
peekay, modiji,teekhai
censored by the government
but destroyed by a few fanatics
makes no sense, nonsense and sheer nuisance
public destroying public property
2000,2013,2014,2015
does it matter
it matters not for the haters
for the looters,rapists

Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.

All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong, don't worry, they can't last long either.

Old Friends are Gold! New Friends are Diamond! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a Base of Gold!

Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end!

When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.

A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision!"

When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.

WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES, it takes away today's PEACE.

Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout.

A Car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the Rear view Mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, Look Ahead and Move on.

Sometimes When It Is Quiet - A Poem about Reflection

Sometimes when it's quiet

And I am all alone

I'll sit back in my chair

Not answering my phone.

Sitting there in the stillness

Doing nothing at all,

I lean my head back

Stare at the wall.

Taking some time

To just stop and think,

Ignoring the laundry

And dishes in the sink.

Putting aside

My long list of to do's,

Taking a break to relax

To survey the view.

A few moments to reflect

Away from the din

On where I am going,

On where I have been.

Removed from the chaos

Away from the crowd,

For a rare moment of peace

When time will allow.

In these moments

So precious and few,

I have time to consider

All that I want to do,

To ask myself,

What is it I want to be?

To search my heart

To see what I see.

In which direction is it,

That I want to go?

Consider my options,

Get my ducks in a row.

Look toward the future

Begin to devise a plan,

Give myself a little pep-talk,

Tell myself I think I can.

Spend some needed time

Searching within my soul,

Reviewing my highs

Reviewing my lows.

Asking myself,

Do you like what you see?

Am I doing all I can

To become a better me?

Have I been honest and truthful?

Have I been charitable and kind?

When I search my conscience

Will I like what I will find?

Or be disappointed to know

I've been acting greedy and mean?

Only when I look inside,

Can what I look for be seen.

To do unto others

As you would have done unto you,

This is what we were taught

In the days of Sunday school.

In looking inward at myself

Perusing my memory,

I hope to find I'm thinking of others

Not only thinking of me.

In these silent moments

I have time to reflect,

On what I might have done differently,

On what I might correct.

If given the opportunity

What difference could I make,

If I had that chance

What risks would I take?

If in the future

I might pass this way again

Would I do it all the same,

Or with a fresh start would I begin?

These moments coming unannounced

To catch me by surprise,

Give me the chance to see,

Circumstance through different eyes.

When captured by the moment

I cannot help but take a look,

Discovering what options

Might be hidden in cranny or nook,

To offer help in taking me

From one moment to the next

Finding new solutions,

To a problem with which I'm vexed.

These quiet little respites

Are born of necessity,

Otherwise how would I find

The tools needed to succeed?

For life is about the challenge

That is presented every day

To improve both ourselves and our world

In peaceful and small ways.

So when those quiet moments come

Unbidden and unexpected

It's best to take advantage,

Of their gift of time reflected.

And savor their brief moments

To store their lessons learned,

Enjoy the beautiful seconds

Of peace which I have earned.

BALANCE

"There is darkness inside all of us, though mine is more dangerous than most. Still, we all have it"that part of our soul that is irreparably damaged by the very trials and tribulations of life. We are what we are because of it, or perhaps in spite of it. Some use it as a shield to hide behind, others as an excuse to do unconscionable things. But, truly, the darkness is simply a piece of the whole, neither good nor evil unless you make it so. It took a witch, a war, and a voodoo queen to teach me that."
Jenna Maclaine, Bound By Sin

"There are moments when i wish i could roll back the clock and take all the sadness away, but i have a feeling that if i did, the joy would be gone as well. So i take the memories as they come, accepting them all, letting them guide me whenever i can." Nicholas Sparks, Dear John

"In each of us lie good and bad, light and dark, art and pain, choice and regret, cruelty and sacrifice. We're each of us our own chiaroscuro, our own bit of illusion fighting to emerge into something solid, something real. We've got to forgive ourselves that. I must remember to forgive myself. Because there is a lot of grey to work with. No one can live in the light all the time."
Libba Bray

Your hand opens and closes, opens and closes. If it were always a fist or always stretched open, you would be paralysed. Your deepest presence is in every small contracting and expanding, the two as beautifully balanced and coordinated as birds' wings."
Rumi, The Essential Rumi

JEWISH HUMOR
21- year-old Jewish girl tells her mum that she has missed her period for 2 months.
Very worried, the mother goes to the local pharmacy and buys a pregnancy test kit. The test confirms that her daughter is pregnant.
Shouting and crying, the mother says, "Who was the selfish bas***d that did this to you? I demand to know!"
Without answering, the girl picks up the phone and makes a call. Half an hour later, a Bentley stops in front of their house. A middle-aged and very distinguished man steps out of the car and enters the house.
He sits in the lounge with the father and mother, and tells them, "Your daughter has informed me of the problem. I can't marry her because of my personal family situation but I'll take charge. I will pay all costs and provide for your daughter for the rest of her life."
He continues, "Additionally, if a girl is born I will bequeath two retail furniture stores, a deli, a chateau in France and a 1m bank account."
He continues, "If a boy is born my legacy will be a chain of jewellery stores and a 25m bank account."
"However, if there is a miscarriage I'm not sure what to do. What would you suggest?"
All silent at this point, the mother placed a hand firmly on the man's shoulder and told him,

"You'll try again."

PK

The movie goes to establish again and again the truth that story, content is king and not heroes in branded clothes and garish wigs. The public dont want a hero to look at a heroine and immediately fly of to poland or netherlands to run around bushes singing songs and shaking his legs.

PK,period is a great film, with great scenes, great screenplay and great perfomances. It demands your attention and yet conveys what it wants to in very simple words. But my question to the director and hero is why the bias when it comes to taking pot shots at hinduism and not at the religion of islam.I will tell you why because THEY DONT HAVE BALLS OR THE GUTS TO TAKE ON ISLAM AND MUSLIMS,thats why.but hindus and hinduism dont need pampering or protection from anyone for a real hindu knows that religion, god are matters of the heart and matters to be pondered over in solitude.

Forget the RSS,BJP,BAJRANG DAL AND SHIV SENA for they are amateurs and have yet to realise the fact that hinduism was,is and will be and has thrived against the barbaric mughals, the fanatic british and to a certain extent buddhism and jainism.

I respect the directors anguish at how godmen are conning innocent people. As long as people are willing to be conned there will be conmen. In the end what matters is there is more good than bad in the film and is filled with genuinely rib tickling scenes.

AAMIR KHAN is just too good and has gone from strength to strength and i hope shah rukh and salman at least strive to match his selection of good films. No leave salman for he is no good and yes shah rukh should.A good film will gross 100 to 150 crores given today's ticket prices and yet for a film to cross 500 crores is something and it is not for nothing.

Anushka looks hot, really hot but for the botox in her lips which makes them look like the buttocks of a baboon.pink, swollen

Kallu mama AKA sourabh shukla breezes through his perfomance and so does sanjay dutt but who looks old and beaten down.

In the end the film works because of the story, direction and aamir along with great photography.

OMG was a step and PK was the journey and i just wish there is PK 2 and that it can shed light on the real nature of hinduism.

You saw PK!?
Ok, now I'm jealous...I still haven't watched it as yet!

Heard so much about this movie...
that people are watching it again and again just like "3 Idiots"...
Did you like this movie more than "3 Idiots"?
Heard the songs were just meh - average.

But still...so happy to read your review!😛
Aamir Khan is such a smart cookie...
heard he might be doing the sequel PK 2 with Hirani.
Heard director Shankar wants to work with him next.
And Anushka got praised by the critics and masses alike, more for her performance than for her obvious lips...
Virat must be proud of his gal.
Hirani, the silent modest director, must be having the last laugh to the bank cos the movie has officially made mind-boggling 600 crore business worldwide!!

Like someone said, an Aamir Khan film comes only once in a year NOT to break records...
but to create NEW records and standards.
Despite growing old and using botox on his forehead...
Aamir can still make the young heart flutter...
unlike his useless nephew Imran Khan.
So happy for him and his hard work.

Damn...I need to watch this movie soon...

Award-winning speech for Mr. Aamir Khan by late director K. Balachander.

This is an old video...but a very nice, inspiring one.
It was an award function where Aamir Khan received his directorial debut award for "Taare Zameen Par".
Please note: Aamir Khan does not attend Bollywood award functions.
He came to Chennai to receive this award from reputed late director K. Balachander.
And Balachander's speech was so out-of-this-world...told in his modest, humble voice...
it reduced Aamir Khan to tears.
Very touching speech from one humble being to another.
And yes, K. Balachander's vocabulary skills still astound me!
