I take great pride in the fact that a singer like Shankarji came to sing against Anwesha because he thinks that Anwesha is the best find of the reality shows after Shreya Ghoshal...

I am quoting his exact words which actually mean that nobody as good as Anwesha was found till date after Shreya's debut in 2002.

Anwesha undoubtedly must have learnt a lot of things from Shankarji and my blessings to the child would be that may she learn more and more from maestros like Shankar Mahadevan!!

But, the logic of learning makes the argument a lil lopsided...Anwesha got to learn a lot. But, the the rockstars didn't get that opportunity.

In a cricket match, the idea is to capitalize on the best skills of a player and get the victory. In this faulty format, whatever Shankarji did was not breaking rules...But it defeated the purpose of the show....
He should groom his singers and get their positive qualities highlighted so that these budding singers get noticed by the MDs watching these shows, and the get the break for which they are struggling.

Shankar Mahadevan as a musician is totally beyond this MKMM stage, and he has nothing to prove here...

Shankar Mahadevan is the winner hands down in terms of musical skills as well as knowledge if he is pitted against the rest of the captains... 👏 👏 👏

Shaan Mukherjee is the winner hands down in terms of captaincy which involves mentoring and grooming his teammates, integrity of character, honesty, teamwork and teamplay... 👏 👏 👏

I will hold my ground irrespective of the result 😊....
I wrote the first post because the thread title was trying to justify Shankarji's coming on stage because Shaan came twice too.
This is my POV and you are entitled to have yours.. 😊

Wonderful PIPC!!!Grt Job..Wat a Fantastic Answer to Shankar Fans..PIPC Rocks!!!👏

The thing I cant understand is Shankar just came twice just once..who r we to decide how he should groom his teammates. May be the rockstars werent prepared or maybe Shankar wasnt happy with their preparation. Sometimes not singing is better than average or bad singing. If Md are watching the show and the contestants are not singing good that could create a negative impact also and if u sing two songs to the best of ur ability its better than singing 10 songs with average singing. There may be other factors involved. I think the everyone looked happy to be in Shankars team ..I dont know what happens back stage but Shankar looks involved in the team and to me looks like he cares about his contestants more than we do.

@the bold part...We are the junta janardan and we get to judge the contestants as well as the captains by the power vested in us by Gajji....We get to decide how Shankarji should groom his teammates because Shankarji along with his team asks for votes from us..
We get to decide because we spend our hard earned money in SMS voting which could have been utilized in a better way otherwise....

well...what are you voting for ? how he grooms his contestants? or how the contestants perform on the stage. what you are supposed to judge is the final outcome. The performance in the end is what you are exposed to and that is what you know for sure. All other things have various factors invovled in them , which you may not know for certain. If I remember Shankar also asks for votes if you liked their medleys and their singing and not for anyother reason. Maybe we should let them handle their own way of preparation. Because we vote for other things rather then just the performance the audience seldom picks a deserving winner.
And btw there is always a better way to utilize the money then voting for these competitions.

Sure we are voting for overall approach ... grooming, captain skill, mentoring, the entire teams performance ....
I vote for all these ... and I guess a lot of other people does the same

All I am saying is if you are voting for grooming and mentoring then your judgment is based on just 1 hour of selected and edited viewing. The captains and contestants spend together a lot more time than that and you cannot be sure of about these things. You see the whole performance and you can judge on that bcos u know how well did the contestant or the group sang.

I don't understand what you are trying to say😕. When we judge, we judge on what we see. Why should we care about the possible reasons that the captain may have sung instead of the contestant? If the preparation was not good, it just shows the shortcoming of the captain for not preparing his team well. It makes us feel that the captain is not serious about the mentoring of his team and is not doing his job of training his team members well. That's just how we look at things when we decide whom to give our votes.
