I think this topic has been answered now. Thank God.
Some people were unsure why fans of Shaan's Strikers don't criticise Shaan when he comes to sing in any of the muqablas. But we do criticise Shankarji.
Well, to sum up:
1. Shankarji started it - he found the loophole and used it first against a smalltime contestant. This meant that other captains HAD to come down to perform as a defensive measure - in the semifinals, a captain could not risk not performing lest the other captain comes.
2. Shaan didn't come against the young/inexperienced singers. He had enough faith and preparation in his team that he could send one of his contestants to sing against the non-captain contestants of the opposing team.
There are two points to note. Firstly, Shaan's Strikers' fans generally feel that it's unfair for a captain to sing against a young singer. Secondly, Shankar's Rockstars (excluding Shankar) should be able to face the Strikers (excluding Shaan) without the help of their captain.
3. Shankarji is a great singer/composer/captain/judge/mentor. And his team is great too. But they weren't able to perform well as a team - it was a very lopsided effort. The rules of MkMM are very loose. In ODI cricket, a bowler can bowl a max. of 10 out 50 overs and an 18+ team can't play against an under-18 team. If there was a rule that captains can't sing against contestants, or if there was a limit to the number of times captains could perform, then Shankar's Rockstars would not have got this far in the competition.
Now, Shaan's Strikers fans have a valid opinion on all the above issues. And Shankar's fans are free to disagree. But do not say that fans of the Strikers can't think straight and that we have double standards. Everyone has a vote (well many votes if you can afford them) and so everyone's opinion is valid. Do not make our opinion look hypocritical - it's just as valid as yours.
After that exhausting effort of writing this essay, I have the breath to say just one more thing...
Jeetenge SHAAN Se!
