So BB has some blame to share, as does Baa - the latter in a not so obvious way, but very much in concurrence with the other post you made about her - she is a woman of idealist ideals, which no human - including she herself - can really accomplish in the 'ideal' manner. Honestly, if I was going to pick un-realism between black and white, I'd at least pick black, because it doesn't label itself demi-god perfect in preaching a right in theory, wrong in practice.

Not sure I'll be catching up with all the episodes of the past - that might be too much catching up to do - but I'll watch the link you've shared, and if you have any other critical clips in mind I ought to look up, please link/tell me?

I like how all the 'anti-hero' main lead shows sooner or later tend to show streaks of Heathcliff šŸ˜† So I got done watching Gulaal, where Kesar showed that side of Heathcliff which would not let Cathy herself be in peace - the kind of lover who would not be content with putting Sunday flowers by his late lover's grave, but dig it up - sully himself, and sully the concept of 'R.I.P.' Anti heroes are fascinating, if well woven characters, and Wuthering Heights definitely takes the cake to have created one of the most complex kind!

Chalo - I'll be around more once by and by =) Thanks for the brief up again!

ps: My name shortens to JZ ... so the 'zephyr' is only to add dramatic flair šŸ˜† - appreciate getting a nod to it! 😳

JZ it is then.. coz I am all about conveniencešŸ˜†.. well you are welcome.. I understand catching up is a real big deal.. but if I had to suggest any other link for you to see the Heathcliff effect that you by admission are intrigued by.. it will be the 2 CP-IMV meetings.. lemme find them.. one in which IMV talks to her.. and the other where she after imposing maun-vrat to process everything comes to the solution of how to deal with him.. she concurs tht her whole purpose of meeting him was tht there was this one link still left in her earthly form.. of setting him free.. tht wld give u the gist of things btw IMV-CP and their fbs are just surreal... as for this show.. its USP is its story-telling.. and it somehow involves heathcliff and cathy's daughter.. based on a novel of the 70s.. has loads of parallels with the Ambani family in India.. in fact only today sowmya made parallels with Gail Wynand of fountainhead and IMV.. so there.. there is no end to our imagination.. šŸ˜†also IMV is a lil darker than a regular anti-hero... LOLoh now for the links.. hope you enjoy it..😃

IMV-CP first meet after ages

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BmqbymD_kQ&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mB8wWYQTzkc&feature=channel_video_title

and of course my fave IMV-D scene. the context here is IMV and D compete for a deal and D wins it.. outside IMV congratulates her only for her to teal him.. she as usual read his biography and aped his strategy.. she has been shown to be heavily influenced by him and his business skills.. in fact took him for a mentor much before she knew him.. hence the connection..šŸ˜‰ love the way the Ishwar-IMV-D fbs are interplayed in this scene

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfsFBXV7ImQ

these 2 me are some of the most power packed MB scene in terms of life lessons.. dialogues and screenplay.. 😊

Thank you Sonali! 😃 Will watch all those in a bit.

About IMV being darker than usual anti heroes, well his space of execution gives him that scope. It would be a pity if he was a second more relenting to the idea of 'goodness'. And anti hero, living anti-up to his name!

And I know what you mean about the USP in its story telling. The cinematics of this show could do better any day, and if the entire cast could only live up to the level of IMV himself (Shiv, the actor's name, is it?) but I'll ignore those kinks and look at the bright side. Its something to watch - in times when TV is full of stuff not worth wasting time over!

Heathcliff was in need of 'medication' - as are all anti heroes. But I like them better sans treatment! šŸ˜† The layers to their character is always fantastic to watch, when well executed!

well thts one thing abt IMV.. his convictions make the clean, mahaan character look frivilous... yup the team behind the camera are the real heroes... Shiv Subramaniam aka IMV isnt really an actor.. a renowned screenplay writer himself.. won filmfares for Parinda and Hazaron Khwahishein aisi the movies.. this is first big stint as an actor.. well as actors Deepti naval aka CP is LEAGUES apart obv.. Surbhi playing Charulata Virani is also something else.. in fact there was this other scene with Charu and Vaibhav.. where she confronts him on getting an inkling about his living situation with his wife... awesome scene again.. made me cry.. esp with the half baked life she lives in and her first outburst showing her son the real picture.. while all he could do is cry for his mom and at his little bubble bursting..

here goes from 1.50

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPz8gZQLKtM&feature=results_video&playnext=1&list=PL60EF74C96117182F

the show can defo work in some dept.. but yes its one of the shows which has a fully developed story.. a finite one at least.. and love its screenplay.. esp Vipul mehta.. and Viral Shah (guy also plays young ishwar..) are good at their work..

Sonali ah wat a marathon post...
Loved ur rant nd loving all ur guys POVs too. I do very clearly see d qualities dat u guys r highlighting of IMV nd also d justification (hey! now don't hold dis word (justification) against me, after 'high attribute' nd 'glorification...btw let me apologise if I grossly misinterpreted Ur's nd Kools appreciation of IMV nd wrongly accused u guys of sumthing dat was purely not ur intentions!😊)
Meri pukaar...where r d other IMV lovers yaar...seems I'm d lone one in dis post.šŸ˜‰
BTW I hv read d Mahabharat...infact it was part of our hindi course, so do hv a fairly good grasp of d major players...also had watched BR Chopra's Mahabharat...ah those good old days...how eagerly one used 2 wait 2 watch Mahabharat nd all those wonderfully complex character serialsšŸ˜‰ on DD of yore.😊
I do appreciate d corporate tactics nd realise their importance in being an integral part of success nd I know tht these tactics r not just 4 d corporate world, but also should be incorporated in life.
OK agreed tht wat he tells D is all abt wat D thinks IMV has done 4 her nd trying 2 bring her under his obligation as a tactics to make her stay. Nd frankly speaking, this is very tame as we all know wat IMV is capable of.
All I am saying is.. as a viewer if you wanna see the layers and enjoy it the way the makers show it.. you have to switch gears for IMV.. else you stand the risk of not enjoying a facet of real smart story-telling...šŸ˜†šŸ˜‰
But tht's exactly wat I'm doing. In his family everyone blames him, but tht is not d case in dis forum nd especially in dis thread...I'm just propagating an alternative POV...I know, my take seems too simplistic for such a complex char, but thn as I hv said b4, I take things at face value nd base my POVs on d basis of d characters' intentions nd actions. 😃
So yes IMV is a very practical nd realistic char, but he's more tilted on d side of negativity...which I don't think most ppl r in real life...even d big corporate ones, but thn again I maybe wrong.šŸ˜•
BTW d other day I was watching a movie nd 1 of d characters said 'conviction, it turns out, is the luxury of those in the sidelines'. Seems something IMV would hv said to Baa.šŸ˜†

I agree with sonali that he felt let down that his protege , D , a businesswoman , was giving up in personal life and NOT employing the corporate tactics there to win . It was there in his incredulous tone when he told Baa and Charu ...'' But she is a businesswoman ! "

It expressed disappointment that she had NOT learnt yet to rise above emotion that weakens and brings forth loss

It expressed disappointment that inspite of being privileged to be in the corporate world and know corporate tactics she was not applying them in personal life and emerging a winner there too

He feels they r a team in the sense that they both r privileged to know more than other humans ...they handle corporate deals and hence have an advantage of being privileged to win any situation in personal life if those same tactics r employed there too . She failed him in that sense , and it was the disappointment of a Guru .😃

@Munira: come on now.. you know rather well no offense taken.. ppl like me and Kools will fight.. drive our points home incessantly.. but to give us benefit we do like to honestly see the other person's perspective..

well its yer bad luck.. that all yer fellow IMV lowers..šŸ˜† are either inactive in the weekend.. or dont wanna tread my post..

aha... BR Chopra's mahabharat.. good times. .I remember I was a lil kid and our Sunday morning deal wld be to get showered.. ready quickly.. and catch Mahabharat with mom, dad and bro over Sun spl breakfast... the whole exp still lingers.. simple times.. but what memories.. wrt that.. I remember both me and bro were fascinated by Shakuni mama.. coz Krishna the other strategist acc to mom was god and it was his mahima.. so he had spl powers.. but Shakuni's brain was just intriguing.. Dad had once had a chance encounter with gufi paintal the actor.. and told him how we were so fond of him.. and he was obv pleasantly surprised.. thats the thing with mahabharat.. the characters were all flawed.. but what credibility each had..

and NOPE you are grossly mistaken if you think its only this forum which is uber fond of IMV.. at least here u will find some ppl who scale him on morality grounds.. go to the MB fb page.. there's only IMV appreciation there.. the makers have to work double hard to make him a sordid villain.. but I doubt tht their intention.. if tht was so.. they wldnt give him the most inspiring lines.. ppl in fact write things like IMV is an INSPIRATION...šŸ˜† and do I blame them.. you take off IMV from this show.. its zilch.. there are 50483724 other shows on tv with clean mahaan but unreal characters.. yes they have more definition and more conviction in this show. .they have obvious flaws and tg for tht.. but for a mind like mine and Kools IMV gives us a new intrigue factor each day with his complexity.. and we get all excited.. he makes us THINK..šŸ˜‰

and please you are SO entitled to your alternative POV.. we just like the debate going you know.. I have my alternate POV for Sabina and now BaašŸ˜† so what..

as for negativity being unreal...šŸ˜† dont even get to the corporate honchos.. the middle level and lower level itself has shady ethics perceptions.. moralities.. i have held 2 jobs one in medicine.. and you wld be appalled at the capitalism tht overrules there.. and even docs are a part of it.. well of course m talking of India here.. but even in the states.. theres subtle discrimination.. self-motivation.. in my sphere at least.. in today's day and age of cut throat competition.. you have to really work to keep your soul intact.. yup killing a person may be far fetched.. but IMVs other dirty moves.. are mundane tactics.. esp the ones with Sabina.. oh.. its rather harmless in reality.. she is stupid not to watch her back is all I can say.. D has a lot to learn in life.. she may have read IMVs books.. but his mirky business he wldnt have published.. VV may play it sportingly.. but he can coz there is an IMV to play dirty.. once he is one n only.. if he wants to keep his empire at the top he will have to play dirty in realityšŸ˜‰

yes Kools that was evident in the scene with Charu and Baa when he was saying with pride.. on his reading of D.. esp after he had invested in her... that she is a smart businesswoman.. she will see the profit and loss in life too.. only to meet a sadistic laughter from his mother.. Oh Ishwar you are sooo wrong and mistaken her.. and of course it did hit him hard.. the idealism.. and when he went to counter D on it.. esp questioning her beliefs in the wake of training her as a guru.. he saw what he HAD NOT comprehended.. THE CP in D...

his assessment of D had been off coz he had not regarded the CP beliefs.. he still disregards as escapism.. and on tht ground he was shaken.. right there.. with the quick realization.. tht yes he cldnt stop CP even the second time around.. but he will not lose to this idealism of CPs... these very beliefs through D.. for her own good (in his eyes.. and in mine too) he will combat CPs beliefs.. and make sure D was his protege central.. more so coz now more than ever he cant lose her.. just cant let her go.. its a point he has to prove to himself.. and bring order in his family..

when he went down he was still contemplating how CPs beliefs were so ingrained in tht girl and where they found the wings.. only to overhear the joker's discussion and blow up.. oh of course you guys gave air and flight to these beliefs.. what is WRONG with everyone.. why doesnt anyone see sense.. why would anyone uphold these stinky beliefs that were potentially hazardous not just to their lives.. but to his empire.. and as usual in the whole process he was more resolute.. to uproot this stupidity.. and bring orderšŸ˜‰.. lets see how far he will take this battle of dominion of his statement vs CPs statement which is even more lethal in an innocence to the order of unreality and inexperienced D
