A famous song by Tagore. .that inspired none other than M. Gandhi in his crusade.. transpired in my mind...through out the episode...

This man lives the song.. with pride... the world hails him for his merit.. but his own family doesnt see past his so-called ego.. arrogance.. Blinded by prejudice.. each family member continues to only harbor low opinion of him.. of his intentions.. coz apparently he only thinks about HIMSELF.. and has no tolerance towards life..

but in reality.. this man.. has a reading of LIFE like NO ONE ELSE.. The sharpest observation.. keen eye and impeccable acumen.. and obviously he has used it well to build up an empire.. for a man who is supposedly ONLY self serving.. he has accountability and responsibility more than the collective civic sense in his family.. and if he ONLY thought for himself.. and made dreams for himself.. he wouldn't barge into his muse's room.. his eyes transfixed at her.. not caring for anything else.. anyone else.. in complete disbelief that his investment has been futile if anything..

He asks her if he has shied away from investing in her.. if he has not provided her enough opportunities for her..and when his muse asks him with hope.. wouldn't he do it for his daughter.. he MAKES NO BONES.. that she too is his daughter.. a part of a family.. that she is not only bound to it through the man she married.. she does owe other's too.. as a VIRANI.. she owes all those ppl who have faith in their capability.. and she can't be impulsive.. her position doesnt give her the right.. he scolds her as a father.. reprimands her as a mentor.. both roles he has served honestly ever since she became a virani.. and he chose to make her one.. for she is his CPs daughter..

And what transpires is a heartwarmingly real exchange.. the sheer respect tht D has always held for IMV.. she does feel guilty of abusing.. coz he stands hurt.. but she can't help it. in the current scenario.. she honestly opens up the state of affairs.. from telling him about the compromise.. to V giving him divorce papers.. to even something she has not told anyone.. V coming home drunk..

IMV sees through her in spite of being hailed as her adversary.. he knows tht the mere friendship cld have translated into love had she tried.. but she did not.. coz she just cant help her belief system.. that she inherits.. she only knows to set ppl free from her expectations.. much like her mother..

And here is where.. the scene elevates by leaps and bounds.. IMV cant help but stare into CP in Ds eyes.. in those innocent but obstinately resolute eyes.. the same he has been well acquainted with.. has loved.. still does.. so when she tells him.. her mother wld have advised her to do the same.. he cant reason with her.. coz he knows that is true..

BUT.. HE also knows tht CP took a decision years ago.. that not only ruined her life.. but made IMV out of ishwar.. and he just cant let that happen again.. For HIMSELF.. YES.. Coz he CAN afford it this time. .to stop CPs daughter commit the same mistake of throwing herself into life's miseries worth.. he will stop it.. coz the guilt he lived with most of his life.. of not being able to save CP from her misfortune.. he wont let his son and family do it to D.. and for what.. or WHO.. a month old love affair.. a one-sided baggage..

He wont let his world.. his empire topple for something that trivial.. he shaped dreams for his sons.. for his DAUGHTER and muse.. he gave her multiple opportunities.. but LIFE isnt as generous.. and he knows or has learnt rather well that.. Life only gives you one chance.. coz

Waqt rahta nahi tik kar.. Uski aadat bhi admi si hain

much like the whim dominated, fickle minded pack he carries in his domesticity.. that only knows how to repent.. cry. .make foolish hypothesis.. waddles in self pity.. and LOVES VICTIMIZING.. now for them D is a VICTIM.. I thought she made it RATHER CLEAR.. that she did agree to the arrangement. .and V did not torture her.. if he did.. mentally.. she would not be in love with him.. wonder what it takes for one out of these idiots to think straight and not mix issues..

their misplaced whimsical emotions cant influence lives.. well they make a mess of their own life..given a chance.. they can sit and have their panchayat all they want.. but when it comes to the LOGIC of the ONE MIND that can THINK STRAIGHT.. they keep shut.. keep shifiting.. exchange strange glares.. talk behind his back.. throw adjectives.. but NOT ONE has anything to offer that can REFUTE HIS RATIONALE.. coz the MAN MAKES SENSE.. extreme sense.. hate his guts but there is no denying his intelligence.. his balance.. rightfully he blows up at the extreme pandemonium his family has created.. and as usual HE WILL WALK ALONE if thats what it takes to put things straight..

He will PLAY DIRTY.. if thats what it takes.. coz he has learnt one thing from life.. one needs to fight to fulfill each dream.. he takes his world more seriously.. and he shall work for it.. if tht involves making his very muse his adversary temporarily.. that is something he is willing to do.. for HER.. for HIS SON.. for HIS EMPIRE.. HIS FAMILY..and HIMSELF..

He came across so human and genuine in his convo with D.. he was shocked to know the truth of her domesticity.. he was somewhere pained.. to see the divorce papers.. he realized that there is a legit chance.. D may leave.. and HE WONT LET IT HAPPEN... NOT till his last breath.. coz she connects him to CP..

in fact SHE IS CP.. someone who tries to see him for who he is.. above and beyond other's perceptions.. some one who can let her heart out to her pappaji.. some one who cares enough what he thinks and how he responds to hide and hear him.. someone who AFFECTS IMV.. try as he may.. he CANT raise his voice at her..even when he screams and looks up to see her.. he stops.. his voice lowers.. he feels responsible for the girl.. coz she is CPs legacy.. and he had vowed to give her a life.. he cldnt give CP. .that was his statement to BB.. to show him what CP cld have got and didn't.. and Now he is up against his family, his own son and he will fight them.. to keep his promise to himself..

Especially since he sees potential in her.. he invests in her.. wants to shape her dreams.. Dreams of making her the MOST SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSWOMAN under his wing.. above and beyond so to speak his aspiration for his own daughter and to some extent his sons..

IMV viosion for D reminded me of this song I liked a lot.. not all tht famous.. but depicts the dreams a father makes for his heir rather well

the writer has assigned such high attributes 2 IMV's character as u seem 2 suggest. Also calling d rest of dem idiots is trivailising d very well defined characters. All have their own way of thinking. Didn't master reprimand Baa whn he thought tht she had erred? OK totally agree tht it's ur perception nd ur prerogative😊 nd koi bhi mera mama ya kaka nahin lagta.😆😆😆

Once Kools had said tht he would protect D as she is his choice, nd tht's exactly wat he is doing. Yeah he has become extremely fond of her, well her innocence nd purity of heart may hv won him over. Also D is d only one not accusing him as d others, but dey know some of d unfair means employed by IMV in V-S situation nd Baa, master, PK nd also Charu know his other misdeeds, but as yet D is totally unaware of d means tht IMV employs. Now tht D isn't toeing his line, IMV will definately try his worst 2 salvage d situation nd if he sees D is d one standing in his way, thn he'll not hesitate 2 harm her if d need arises. He'll use it as d last resort, but will use it.

Wonderfully written as always Sonali. I agree IMV is a very complex character and as such it is always very difficult to judge such a prson. He is shown to have a hard exterior and will stoop to any level to get what he wants. in the business world there may be many successful businessmen who do achieve what they want in an underhand way. If seen from his businessman perspective he can be excused for that.

But IMV uses the same tactics in his personal relationships also. Look at what he did to BB, or even the way he treats his own wife, or what he did to his own brother...He is a person who wants everyone to bow down to him and do as he would want them to do. Should anyone cross swords with him he will nail that person without feeling even a twinge of pity or guilt.

Devki's behaviour had actually made him very angry, but I think it was the calm way she put things across to him and more than that when she spoke about her mom and dad and how she had always seen him and Charu as her mom and dad that actually made his 'bolti bandh' for a change. And probably the fact that V had given her the divorce papers on their wedding night only.

Mention of CP was the final thing that made him give up the idea of reprimanding her. But he has definitely NOT given up on this matter. He knows Devki will not relent so now his target will be Sabina, Vicky, Vaibhav...one or more of these...I just hope he does not again use BB to get Devki to change her mind. If he does that then he will be proven to be a low-down creep who is totally inhuman...and I too will lose whatever little respect I have for him at the moment.

Lets see what is in store for next week now.

Just saw d epi.

Sonali whenever I read ur take on IMV, he reminds me of Hank Rearden of Atlas Shrugged. I don't know if u see him as such or not. If I wouldn't hv been watching MB, but would hv based IMV purely on ur POV, then tht's d way I would hv seen him. 😉

Really hv to give it to IMV...he dare reminds D tht it was he who bailed BB's company out of trouble widout an ounce of guilt! He dare tells D tht he gave her permission to do her separate business...widout telling her tht he had already ensured tht d business wouldn't take off. He dare tells her at every step he acknowledged and encouraged her strength, her intelligence whn in reality he didn't miss any opportunity 2 jeopradise her chance of proving herself as a businesswoman, except under his fold. Not only dat he tells his family tht he wants 2 see her as a top businesswoman in India. Wht he says nd wat he does r totally different. It's all a lie so where does d question of IMV having done things 4 D as he sees her as his daughter arise? Don't tell me tht coz he knew he would bail her out, dat he harmed her!

Widout asking IMV, no one has permission 2 take decisions in his house. Wow so it is all abt his self, but other's self should not come into d equation.

So typical of IMV 2 blame others for his own failings'he claims to know d smallest happenings in his house, so on that premise he should also hv known abt d reality of VD's relationship.

By constantly calling others bewakoof, he's undermining dem nd trying 2 attack at d very core of one's being thus trying 2 justify is actions.

BTW his concern 4 Bha was touching as he himself had done so much 4 him nd his questioning whether Bha was dead was in extreme bad taste. But thn dat's IMV 4 U.

There is no high attribute ...he is highly complex , bas .😊 We find that complexity fascinating .

I for one , wud not call terming the rest as 'stupids' as trivialising them today at this point and in this track . They indeed r from my POV . They ignored the sanctity of marraige and gave undue importance to Vaibhav's past flame which has no value whatsoever before an institution called marraige . Call it Compro Vompro but it was a marraige . These so called seasoned , experienced elders twiddled their thumbs and looked on at the tamasha wen they cud have easily halted it when IMV was away .

Vaibhav's stupid love affair is NOT worth destroying the life of the girl he married or the death of her Grandfather who entrusted his little grandaughter to them as a whole , trusting their word .

They HAVE been incredibly irresponsible and stupid in my opinion .

Baa especially . She destroyed V and D's marraige , not IMV .

Everything was going fine and it was a happy family atmosphere .

Today Vaibhav's love has destroyed it all and its this destruction that was inflamed by BAA , not IMV .

Sab toota hua hai , bikhra hua hai . Coz Vaibhav followed his heart . And others , for their nasha of saying I told U So to IMV , encouraged it .

Not ONE elder told Vaibhav privately that Stop this nonsense and get a bloody grip .

Only PK told him , that too , in the end .

U say IMV made it out as if he had obliged her with his help before marraige ...when he only had made BB bankrupt , he only had twisted the circumstances so Devki wud say YES .

Of course he did .😃 But WHY ? is the most important question . WHY he went thru so much trouble , to make such complicated diabolical plans ?

refusing Sabina coz he did NOT want a film actress as bahu in his khandaan was his prerogative , lets dismiss that .

But WHY was selecting Devki his choice ?

What was special about Devki ?

Why did he , like an obsessed man , plot so much for her ? Why did he shower money , almost kill BB , agree to her conditions although he intended to topple them later etc etc ?

He wanted her ONLY is the answe

All say she was a pawn in his revenge plan .

But he wanted revenge against BB . He had no intention of hurting HER . He wud have used her as emotional tool to fluctuate BB's heart now and then , but personal anger against her ...a BIG NO NO .

Infact he was ready to make her his heir as Vaibhavs wife . He saw his love for business in her and he also saw CP in her and he was attracted to her like Charu told D before marraige when she had come to take her advice .

So what harm was he trying to do to HER personally ? Kuch bhi nahi as I see it .

He toppled the Swing Air Deal coz he wanted her to work for Vaibhav Group as his bahu Devki Virani .

Bottomline of everything is he wants her and her only .

He wanted to handover his kingdom to her and Vaibhav ...he had thought Vaibhav wud come around and they wud procreate one day , expand his family and his business empire and he wud show BB what he had missed by not giving CP's hand in his ...The life that Devki led with Vaibhav wud have been CPs too ...He wanted to rub it in BBs face .

Now and then taunting BB was his revenge . Hurting Devki was really NOT part of his revenge plan . He hurts only those who cross him . Devki had not crossed him . Besides Devki was CP's daughter .

So he brought her home and was happy . Whenever his human side is shown , one sees how much he enjoyed having Devki around . When she arranged breakfasts , he accepted the ivitations however busy he maybe . He talked about her fondly to business colleagues saying My bahu has invited me for lunch , gotta go . He never objected to them taking time off to go to Europe or the farm house . Sure he did some things in their absence , but honestly , the farm house trip was blessed by him . He gave HER a car , not Rajvi and he even told her she need not share it with all as he had given it to HER . He allowed her the Ganesh Worship although he personally is an atheist .

He may be a dominant egoistic man , but he loved her in his own dominating way , on HIS terms . 😊 when he loves , he loves on HIS terms , he does NOT understand any other way of loving ...by letting go etc . He simply does not understand that . Thats the reason he cud not let go of CP .

His revenge was against BB , never against Devki . Even in that he lost interest once Devki became his bahu . He lost interest in BB if u notice .

Sure he brought up BB's point as if he was his well wisher . He did it purposefully .😆 He will use ANY point to make Devki stay .

Devki's so called well wishers r actually responsible for her satyanash ...they r ok with her walking out and her Grandpa dying of shock and her remaining without a family . They know fully well she will be an orphan and have no one in the world if that happens .They know fully well they had committed to BB that they wud take care of Devki forever . And that now they r giving BB a big thenga.

Yet they did NOT bother to pull V up and went on an understanding Vaibhav 's love spree .

Why was THAT more important than the real thing ...a marraige .

The bottom line is ...the villain is the only one fighting to keep her in the family while they just watch as bystanders and claim to be her well wishers .

Baa wants Sabina and V's marraige . It has already wreaked Destruction . It will destroy More .

I hope they ALL r blasted by BB .

ah.. finally got all my interns/ Undergrads started.. and now I can abuse my freedom a bit.. boss away.. so the mice gotta play rite..😆 esp after the cat made the mouse work overtime the last 4 days.. havent got more than 4-5 hrs sleep in the whole week😆

I will let Kools field you for a while.. and then add in my bits.. lets just say you see iMV like the other Viranis.. like master.. or baa or even Sid..and I see IMV thro CP or Devki's eyes.. and I wanna say D finding out abt IMVs unfair means wont make her look at him the virani way.. u know the jokers..

the rest have their definition.. heck strong enough... but in this matter they are a PACK OF JOKERS.. look at the contrast in the convo tht happened in the room btw IMV-D and the discussion outslde.. its typical panchaiyat as we call it.. no one is using their freaking mind and still advocating causes to suit their fancy... what were they saying.. Sid and his Vaibhav ki khushi.. R u serious buddy.. u just told the whole family in front of your WIFE tht a life you dont chose for yourself only gives you conflict.. I THT u had finally found some balance here..

let me not even get started with Baa.. Why is everyone making D a victim here. she is NOT.. NO ONE is.. they make D a victim (well D asked for it.. by divulging the intricate details like the Divorce paper bit.. the way V had put it across was diff from how it came projected to the family.. obv they wont understand).. but at the same time the jokers dont have the nerve to blame V coz heck he is a VICTIM too..🤣 so lets just stand and blame the only man who unabashedly doesnt wanna be victimized and dares to fight for what HE wants.. kill him.. but all of you want the same.. your own way.. if you could.. and just coz one of them aka D can have a fulfilment of her way at sight they stand in the wings and cheer for her.. not seeing the way is nothing but a WMD at this point😉

And no buddy I havent read Atlas Shrugged.. started it long back in school but never got beyond a fraction.. Long story.. fountainhead I loved.. Atlas shrugged she was trying too hard with her objectivism is all I rem.. am a prudish reader.. so I cant read things tht stifle me😆.. but its long back.. I dont know how I'll feel about the book now.. as for IMV.. he is defo a Heathcliff with a mix of Vito Corleone aka Godfather..😉 still looking for his able heir.. will the MIchael stand up.. 😆
