If Bauji is checking up on the girls everytime like real father does it would probably get annoying. to tell u the truth mjht is awesome since there is very little parental intervention. We can't have parents shown in every episode. Mjht would become a saas bahu serial! No offence intended to anyone.

I am not trying to br critical..but here is what I think I have an issues with...

Is it the teachers job to bring jodis together? And they are not supposed to actually learn in college..Love Happens ..And I am glad it happens .....Not because of the teachers who play cupids....

Why would I want to imagine new world where there is no responsibility, sense and purpose for life....Fun doesn't equal to aloofness...And believe me MJHT new world is a disaster waiting to happen since these kids have no real life sense and cannot even earn their food.............

Really...A father shouldn't check on girls because it is annoying....Then they shouldn't living in a mansion given by parents don't you think...So in other words parents should everythings to kids what ever they want and just never show up again so that they can do whatever they want to do....Sorry totally a new concept for me.....

Little parental intervention...LOL ...I think the right word would be NO parental influence . I don't expect them to show parents in every epi...But once in a bluemoon....when the kids are lost or in trouble or in pain........

Where are these kids looking for guidence...who is their role model..... where do they go for help....So these guys must be really smart and learnt everything that there is to learn in the short span of 19 years so that they don't need the any grown ups in their lifes.....

Saas Bahu serial...wait for couple months...with MN track hitting the Shaadi track.. that wish will be fulfilled too. I dread what is store for SG.

All I am saying is...these years are forming years and teenagers are pretty impressionable....so they need to show that parents are there to help and guide not seen as nuisense in life....

Again Totally show makers misconception of what teenage years are or supposed to be....

I guess they forgot what made them who they are today............

Please do not take this personally anyone... I love to watch ( or used) serial because it made sense. All I see glorified images of these heroes not the people in their lifes who defined them..............

absolutely awesome post anu ( as always😉). I agree with each and every word u wrote. shilpa aunty- I love the character😳... and love the kind of relation she share with her son. May be its bcoz I too have boys😆.. in realistic life , its always seen the youth tend to hide or show more importance to the love of their lives than the parents who have brought them at times sacrificing things so as to see them happy. Now that shilpaji needs his moral support, It would be interesting to see if mayank becomes a responsible son setting aside his love life, which again may end up nupur fans calling him heartless😆
bui- She is the most realistic character as u said. Elders that too in a village , always dreams of getting their girls married once they have grown up , coz they feel getting them married to a nice chap is the best thing for them. After the way mayank has fooled her, it would be surprising if she forgives him very soon. About sam, the least said the better. Sajan fans are lamenting that she is the 'villian' in their love story. But just note the way he was seen by her the first time!!! And as u said flirting with one of her 'laadlis' in front of her eyes. If I were her, I would have kicked him out of my house😆
The fathers- never seen such irresponsible fathers in my life😡. Actually the cvs to be blamed..they are more interested in lowwe ishhtories only😉
next comes the interesting gang of people - the teachers!!!!!! Why the hell are they portraited like this???? ( am a teacher and feel insulted when they show studenst insulting teachers in classroom) are they the comic relief in the serial?! except one deodhar sir, all others seem to be either bafffoons or flirts ( remember miss Aha?) And a teacher was appointed to teach them a drama and all other teachers disappeared!!( shudders rememebering the *** version of P&P) .anyways the least said about the college the better. Looks more like a ramp where all the time students are doing cat-walk🤢.
Agreed its a college based serial, but even then they shouldnt have side-lined the parent angle and most importantly show teachers in a badlight.

Great post:)

I loved your shilpa's observations.I think Mothers do understand and that chain,I have seen it tpes in many you know 'saas bahu' or 'love blooming' serials. 😆 . I think she will, after all he is his son.Hope we get some scenes about that and it wont be set off as a 'minor' part.

i know .There hasn't been a mention of sam's parents even tell 4-5 months? . It's sad and that jail incident.Wasn't it supposed to be flashed over newspapers and telivision?.Do they mean to imply that sam's parents are too busy to check a newspaper or something? And not even a text or a call.sick man.

I agree. The more I ponder about Bui The mre right it seems,But cant say if I LIKE that rightness of course towards sam 😆 .BUt a character of villans definetely not.I think it is pretty much resonable to hate them.A lie form mayank's side, that too such a big one is enough to make someone suspect.

I know.I mean This was the first phonecall since Diwali.😆.I agree with everything else, about him.

I know.Dosen't it seen absurd.Chachaji In his own house remains shaded, maybe cooking or something 😆 .At the most we dont get more than 2-3 parents at the same time. A parent ,,who is so carfree,as to not check who his daughter is dating? Man.that's absurd.Anyone can come and go in hi house with NO permission.truly confusing !

College gang-I dont know much of these stories.i'm just 11.so not going to comment on them 😆

This is a phrase always prevalent in Mjht it seems,No concern for elders,Nothing at all.I rest my case with the above things.

Great topic anu..

Your analysis on shilpa aunty was to precise .. In fact i think she is the only normal parent/elder in the show,, rest of them are all near caricatures..
It will be interesting to see how they tackle the present situation. letting mayank help will be a little out of shilpa's character, but youngsters taking family responsibilities is not unseen.

samrat's parents according to me dont exixt.

Bui- Their is nothing wrong in her being over-protective towards the girls, and even trying to get them married. we may disapprove it but its some thing that happens.

But her behavior towards samrat (also benji to some extent) was unrealistic for a small towner/ villager.
I grew up in big city and i ve taken my friends to my dada/dadi & nani's villages. and my friends were treated like royalties.
Stopping food from being served is something the villagers dont do to even their "khandani dushman"

I also found her extra affection towards uday a little annoying. (well, thats the feminist side of me speaking) Cant a daughter be "family ka chirag?" Being a only daughter it really offends me :(.

Bauji- although we ve seen only a little of him, i ve pretty good feeling abt him. I hope he is going to be another realistic parent like shilpa aunty.

Chacha bhushan's absence during dia-rv track kinda killed the character for me

Teachers- So right, they dont seem like teachers.

Umm ... Reality ???? MJHT???? are we talking about the same thing?

The only ... repeat ONLY realistic tv show these days on Indian tv is Aapki Antara ... if you want to watch a good show, with real people and real problems handled in a sensitive way, watch that!!!

As for all the rest - over dramatic, OTT, characters larger than life, strictly for entertainment purposes only!!! Don't .... please DON'T make the mistake of taking them seriously ... or thinking the characters are in any way related to real life! Characters appear and disappear depending on demands of the current 'track' ... (or on their availability of shooting dates for some of the busier senior actors) ....not based on logic or reality! So take them with a pinch of salt and enjoy them! Help, even so called 'reality shows' aren't based on reality ... and you're expecting realism from daily soaps???!!!

As for MJHT (and certain others I could but won't name!) ... Mills and Boon meets Bollywood ... it should come with a statutory warning - switch off brain cells while watching! If you're hunting for logic, realism, continuity ... even consistency of characters ... you'll land up in a loony bin!

ahmm....i love my elders but i can't like ppl(old or young) who are conservative and sexist and old fashioned.....and i suppose bui's like that only...so i'm not really fond of her...actually i dislike her fully...

and further... if bui is protective of nupur, i dont think dats reason enough to force her into marriage......its lame...

Neetu...

ummm...Treating them like royalties..yes...we do..I am from small town and yes do....Did Sam ever enter properly....He violated the basic principle courtesies of a guest....Rules in a village are different .....if anyone entered my house with out my grandmas permission she would literally kill the preson who invited them....it is alomost challenging her authority over he house.....He is hgitting on her daughter right infront of her eyes....she is not blind not to notice small things.....for her he is a threat.......

Not offer him food.....I saw it as trying to pull away gujan from sam's side.....May be that is uncalled for....she shouldn't have done that...the again Babloo ji was sitting there in Khaandan Damaad post so😆😆😆..........took precedence..........

I am only justifying her motive not all of her actions............

Khaandan ka chirag....tell me about it............I went throught that my whole life and my poor baby girl is still going through this day and age..........I can't begin to tell you how ridiculous it is and how much it hurts......I have to fight for my daughter.............And I will............My Father in law gives me lectures quite often why i should have a boy 😡

Diya...I agree....No reality in MJHT😆........I guess I was heavily inspired by the criticism posts against the elders I vented out I guess.
The beginning of the show was much better and did have to do with real life..some what...it was not complete off base.......

As for the rest of your comment.........👏👏👏

I have to concur 100%.......
