Aditya , Sanya in Raashi's room. Vikram comes in. Raashi's face lights up. He apologizes for being late as he had lots of work to do in the office and no one to help him. He tells her to get well soon as then she can help him.
Vikram looks at Raashi's sketch. Raashi is elated. He praises her drawing.
Vikram tells her that he has to go away for two days to attend a conference and encourages her to make many more sketches. Raashi is sad. Her smile fades.
Sharada is sitting on her bed remembering Maya's words, Jiji's words and Vrinda's pain. She thinks of how to change Kashinath's decision praying to the Lord to show her the way.
In the hospital, Raashi has another of her panic attacks. Sanya calls Sharada and tells her and Vrinda to come to the hospital.
Aditya and Sanya are trying to calm Raashi down when Vrinda and Sharada come. Aditya says there is no choice but to administer an injection. Vrinda suggest they try to get Vikram instead. Sanya is unable to get Vikram as he has already left for the conference. She says that there will be no contact for two days. The injection makes Raashi sleep for an hour. Aditya hopes that she will feel better when she awakens.
Raashi has a flashback of her attack and wakes up crying.
Vikram comes in.
He asks her what happened. He holds her hand and tells her he had told her to prepare many sketches but she doesn't listen to him so he to return. Raashi looks at him in earnest. Aditya asks him how come he came as he was on his way to the conference. Vikram says he got a message from the office and friendship is more important than the conference.
In Banu Pratab's house, Maya brings tea for Banu. He is in a foul mood. He refuses the tea. She enquires into the reason for his foul mood. At that moment, Vikram walks in, talking on his mobile. It seems that Vikram has applied for a year's holiday for Aditya's sister and for an environmental post. He says he will go to Delhi tomorrow. Banu and Maya are surprised. Maya questions him. He tells her he wants to go away from this environment and city for the time being. He says he has applied for a position in an environmental port and a year's leave of absence. He hopes a change in workplace will bring a change in his life.
Banu feigns an attack of giddiness. He is not happy that his plans for Vikram are not working out.
Vikram apologies to Banu as because of him, Banu had to tolerate a lot. Banu says he is not sad for that but for tolerating it at the moment when he had gone to do good for others. Vikram says that Banu is not at fault. Banu tells him that he had gone and begged for his son's happiness and with that he is getting son's separation. Banu says that he is worried about the poor girl's happiness as he has already accepted her as his daughter in law.
Vikram wonders how Kashinath can tolerate doing injustice to his daughter.
In Pandey residence, the family is meeting with Kashinath. Everyone has a serious face. Sharada tells him that as Vrinda's father he has taken some decisions for Vrinda and as Vrinda's mother she too has made some decisions.
Sharada says she does not accept the marriage proposal by the Avasti parivaar for Vrinda.
She says that no matter how good the parivaar is, Vrinda cannot get a better husband than Vikram. She says she is speaking in the best interest of her daughter.
Sharada says she will not attend the marriage.
Kashinath is shocked and angry. He tells her that the Sharada , who obeys his every small decision, today on this very important decision is abandoning him.
Sharada tells him that she is helpless. As a mother if she keeps quiet her daughter's life will be destroyed and not wanting to she is forced to say that his decision is wrong.
Kashinath replies that as a father if thinking about this daughter's happiness is wrong then yes he is wrong. If as a father who wants to make his daughter's life filled with happiness by finding a good house and family for her is wrong, then he is wrong. He says that his daughter understood his decision but his wife doesn't.
Sharada tells him that his daughter's understanding is her sanskar, upbringing which she has taught and imparted to Vrinda. She says that Vrinda made her father's decision her life sacrificing all happiness and love. All just for her father. As parents they should keep in mind that in their zid whatever they do, the children's heart should not break.
Sharada tells him to look at his daughter's face. She questions: Where is the joy that fills a daughter's face when her marriage is fixed? Where is the smile that adorns a woman's face when she is about to begin a new life?
Vrinda says that it is no such thing and that she is happy with Kashinath's decision.
Sharada stops her saying that she knows her daughter as well as she knows herself.
Sanya agrees that Vrinda is not happy and requests Kashinath to give Vrinda more time.
But Kashinath is adamant and refuses to change his mind, irrespective of who attends the marriage or not.
Kashinath walks away.
The End.
Points to ponder.
1) Sanya pleads for time for Vrinda to come to a decision and can see how Kashinath does not listen to anyone's plea. Will Sanya now empathise with Aditya? Will she now believe that even if Aditya had told his parents about them, Kashinath would have accepted their marriage?
2) Has Raashi become a noose around Vikram's neck?
3) If Raashi becomes attached to Vikram and can't live without him, will Kashinath beg Vikram to marry Raashi for her happiness? or will he get her married to someone else and hopes she will forget Vikram? Will he then distinguish between a real daughter and an adopted daughter?
4) What if the Vrinda's proposed groom turns out to be the culprit in Raashi's attack? How will Kashinath deal with it?
