About today's epi. I just kept replaying the last dialogs in my head by Devyani. When Gaurav warns her to not push him beyond his limits..she in turn threatens him to stay within his maryada or she'll be pushed beyond her limits. I was trying to figure out what that meant. I could understand Gaurav's part..that he was tired of being controlled and having to sacrifice his happiness for his mother's wishes and was reaching a point beyond tolerance. But what was Devyani's intentions behind her dialog...i don't get it at all. And unless its revealed that Gaurav is gay or what i won't find any answer to this i think. I didn't initially believe that they wanted to make Gaurav gay. But now i am about 80% sure his secret is that he is gay. But if Devyani knows that about him, it still doesn't make sense why she would insist that he marry Vidya and then insist that he give her all the happiness she deserves when she knows he can't be the husband that Vidya wants.

J, surprisingly I do agree!! There wasnt much there!! Things that distinctly stood for me was,

Priya's acting!! She really needs to work on her crying! It came across very fake!

Woman-to-woman. Man women talk so much just looking and smiling at each other. The scene where Devyani takes the aarti of Gaurav and Vidya, mistakes Vidya sense of delight at having found a new friend into the establishment of intimacy! I was quite tickled by the scene!😆

The last scene of Devyani's interaction with Gaurav, that was the only scene that had strong impact yesterday! Devyani's desperation is trying to get Gaurav to accept Vidya as a part of his life and gaurav's frustration at his mothers lack of understanding! Very well done! The moment, as the line between a mother and a son transitions from an unstated friendship to that of parenthood! Well portrayed!

Tammie, on that count your post yesterday was very insightful!

Is Gaurav gay? I am not sure! I swing from yes he is gay to probably not! His dialogue yesterday suggested probably he is gay, but the question remains whether a mother would be so blind to his sons' preferences that she would be ready to sacrifice Vidya's life for it? I am not sure whether Devyani would be uncaring of another woman's feelings! Anyway a friend of mine Anjana (from the Den) suggested another possibility, What about an older woman?? Is that possible? Yes a conservative Haryanavi family will have problems with an older bahu! Do share your views!!

@Jaya Really am hoping that they are leaving us hanging and playing with us. Because I don't want Gaurav to be gay (not that there is anything wrong with being gay). By making him gay they limit the possibility of the stories and can only go one way. Not sure Indian TV is really ready for a full out gay story line. But I could be wrong and it is my straightness speaking.

They already have two aspects of spousal abuse with Devyani and Uttara. With Priya we may get a story of rape. It would be nice to have an old fashion romance with Vidhya and Gaurav instead of more controversy. Gaurav seems like a very nice, gentle and sweet man who has a really close relationship with his mother (...oh god I am describing a gay man) he would make an excellent husband to Vidhya. After he falls out of love with his current lover..who should be a woman.

But I guess we will wait and see.

@Rehana...I hope Ridhi improves in time for the Saturday dhamaka episode.
