I am sure that planetvu is dead. I haven't heard any US company putting their service down for a month now leaving their customers in the dark. "As soon as" has no meaning.

Not sure if Ron is real Ron or some Rohan (like Dell customer service) and stuart as well. Those guys could be looking for another VC funding and hence have no real date.

Sorry being little harsh but all of us pl keep an eye on your credit card on the file. Those guys can get some handsome money out of it.

I agree with you for these frustrations. We are option less at least for Zee Marathi. Looking at the earning reports of planetvu it is not clear why they would take these chances. When they started they are first few companies to implement ipTV which is still challenging. Verizon is trying to implement their FIOS service from last 1 year so I guess one could imagine technology challenges. Why they pull down the live production which fairly good quality without any communications to customers. What I heard (may be rumour) that they have to physically relocate. If they lease their equipment along with office it merely a stupid decision particularly if you have latest technology product.

Well we can speculate but unless we hear from them it is fiction. I guess company like planetvu will not sustained more than 2 months downtime. So End of Dec will be decisive - I think.

Hey guys,

I just talked to Ron. Good news and bad news.

Bad news first: Most likely they will not be up before January 2008.

Good news: The company is not closing down. They have made huge investments in the broadcasting technology and they are definitely not going out of business. The delays have happened because the materials required arrived late because there were a lot of holidays in the countries they were purchasing the materials from, and here in the US as well. The materials have arrived recently and work is going on without any problems. It is a huge and complicated project, so we just have to be patient.

I expressed concerns to Ron about credit cards being charged and he pointed out that they stopped charging subscribers in August itself as they knew this was coming up. Nobody was charged in September. Your credit card information is secure and will not be abused.

Ron thanks the user community for their patience and continued support.

Another thing I'd like to say to you guys.. please don't mind it, but I am not sharing Ron's phone number for a reason. First of all, I got it from someone else in confidence. Secondly, he is a high ranking person in the company, and it would be disruptive to him if everyone keeps calling him up to complain and he has to explain the same things over and over. End result will be that he will stop taking calls, and then we will not be able to get any updates at all. I think it's better that one person from the forum keeps in touch with him and communicates updates to the rest of the people.

I hope you understand.

Thanks,
Chocolady

I dont think I will ever go back to Planetvu if there is another option available. So lets all contact streambox.tv and numtv.com to pressure them to start zee marathi. These two sites have all the channels except zee marathi. so if they see that there will lot of people who will join zee marathi they will start the channel.
