However, towards the end of his life, he did some things, that somewhat(not completely) undid all his mistakes that he had committed previously.
First of those acts, was ofcourse his giving up of Kavach and Kundal.
Although Karna was a warrior par excellence, it cannot be denied that his Kavach and Kundal made him invincible and immortal. And these added to his already superior skills as a warrior.
Yet, when it came to his duty, he chose his duty over his immortality, and gave up his Kavach n Kundal, knowing fully well that it would weaken his defence forever.

Karna's K-K did not make him "immortal". The brahmin's curse (when Karna shot down his cow dead) ensured him a gory end.

Karna gets Indra's weapon in lieu of his Kavach / Kundala. So at best, this can be termed as a barter- certainly not a voluntary donation.

Thanks to his Guru Parashurama's curse, Karna knew his K- K will be of no use when faced with a Brahmastra / Brahamashira. So why not get at least Indra's weapon in return?

Arjuna got no such freebie- even from his own dad.

I am not going too much into Karna's involvement in the Lakshagriha or the VH incident.

According to the originals, the Lac Palace was a mastermind of Kanika- one of Dhritarashtra's chief ministers. As for Karna's comment during the VH, it was during the heat of the moment when passions / emotions were running high. Almost everyone present there with the exception of Vikarna was guilty to some extent.

There was only one fatal mistake which Karna committed and for which he paid with his life. - lying to his Guru Parashurama. That pretty much sealed his fate.

However, I also believe in one sentence that I came across long time ago...
"A man who makes mistakes and repents, is better and granted more acceptance in the abode of God, than 99 other men, who never made any mistake at all"
This is where Karna triumphed, and this is why, despite all his mistakes Karna is so respected and loved by many.

When faced with the finality of Death, almost everyone regrets their misdeeds.

Even Duryodhana did.

It is not making mistakes in the first place that sets a man apart.

He is from Duryodhan's side and no big deal that he praised Karna.. ok now dont tell me all the war parvas were what Sanjaya was narratting to Dhridrashtra.. it all depends on what is told.. what I like and what I dont..

mm better you hear it from me darling.. 😊

👍🏼 I am such a fool i know...
well things i understood in this forum..🤓
- If Karna is taunted for his caste in rangbhoomi- Things were like this in those times. - So it is justified..that its...If Karna as infant is thrown into river , it is way of adoption in that times..(Oh I didnt know that..so kunti is excused from this crime) we cant compare it to kalyug at all...
but if Karna said something based on thinking prevalent at that time(I condemn what he said )- It has to be taken in context of Kalyug and his words needs to be scrutinised with respect to Today's scenario ( why..because it is Karna thats why)...
- Every great deed of other characters have to be applauded...even shakuni is applauded in this place... but when it comes to Karna...( Oh you dont know..he did each of his great deed with a purpose behind it... ) He doesnt deserve any credit for it... when his cut his armour ,it was a bargain, when he refused throne offered by krishna,he was selfish for obtaining glory... and when he spared 4 of pandavas...( why could not he do it for Arjun..).. 😳 ok got it..
- Krishna praised karna during Krishna-Karna conversation - Oh that was as diala said modified by later karna fanatics/supporters..there is no truth in that... If Krishna said something bad on karna..-that is ultimate truth...
- If pandavas rejoice their victory by dancing and all... it is good they are allowed to dance and celebrate on dead bodies around... but we need to look and emphasize again on evil karna coz Krishna said to Arjun that he laughed on your dead son's body.. it doesnt matter the motive behind it... Motives and all are only seen when it comes to others not karna ..
Am i right..? I kind of summed up things i learnt from this place...
Sorry its for first time I am loosing my patience... Because there is no respect given to love that a karna admirer will have for Karna... Vyas didnt tell you all neither me personally all of Mahabharat.. We all are reading intrepretations only...How can any of you put a stamp on one thinking as RIGHT and other thinking as WRONG.
I think people have problem with the fact that Karna is accepted and loved inspite of his flaws..
I am sorry to say but that is a FACT... and neither my blabbering will change others Point of View and neither theirs will change mine...
Have a good day everyone... Stay Blessed and Happy..

Diala you have a point there. I never thought of that..so while not deliberately killing Nishad.. They paid no heed to purochan family.
Hey but they can be excused from this... Coz they are pandavas... 😳

Precisely that Riti... 😛 how can wicked Karna be loved? no you are not supposed to.. he did everything coz he wanted some fools to blindly love him later on without knowing his wicked selfish intentions not written anywhere but running behind his mind.. 😛

Good day to you too.. 😊

Yep, this makes sense - or it could also be what the statement points at, Pandavas in forest -- first year of exile - helpless as much as they can be, grieving and despairing over the events obviously -- so no better time to march over and finish it quietly -- not to mention the sneakiness of it all -- Karna wants to kill them and then let the world think Pandavas simply vanished on some" unknown journey" -- resulting in the long awaited "peace" Karna and Kauravas would have after that.

And in the end, it is just Karna wanting to murder them in a very 🤬 way! Like a combination of Shakuni and Duryodhanas ways -- sneaky enough +straightforward in your face enough!

I don't know where did you get all of that from. He wanted Kauravas to ride their chariots to meet Pandas in battle and finish them off, not sneak into their bedroom at night and kill them in sleep or something. At least the excerpt you quoted doesn't speak of any sneakiness. And sending them off to an 'unknown journey' obviously means journey of afterlife - simply a sarcastic metaphor. That's no brainer. Basically he wanted a one-on-one fight to finish between the Pandas and Kauravas, without any army or legion or allies.
