Intellectually, Vidura was at a far higher plane than Sanjaya. He deserved and got knowledge of a different kind.

Sanjaya is just a representative of an average soul which- with the right gyana- can attain enlightenment.

Thanks for enlightening me with the fact.😊

Wonderful posts everyone.👏
And thanks for the thread MnxG. With ⭐️Gita coming (yikes!!) we needed this thread, for Svayam Padmanabhasya Mukhapankaja Vinhsritaa Gitaa. (The Gita from the lotus mouth of Lord Padmanabha.)

Finally an Oasis!
thanks mnx12...

but actual understanding of SBG should first be preceded by an understanding of its Preface, which majority don't care to read and resultantly fail to understand SBG and thereby question it.

i'll write it in sometime..in hurry now...

A thread for discussing the Bhagavad Gita
So, the shloka that I will put forth is -
ananyas chintayanto maam ye janah paryupasate
tesham nityabhiyuktanaam yogakshemam vahamyaham (9:22)

Meaning - I personally take care of both the spiritual and material welfare of those ever-steadfast devotees who always remember and adore Me with single-minded contemplation.

In the Srimad Bhagavatham,Veda Vyasa is considered an ansh avatar of Vishnu himself. He is already an evolved soul- evolved through the powers of his tapas, his dedication to the shrutis.

Arjuna gets into a crisis because of incomplete knowledge and through the grace of the Divine, gets uplifted. I don't think Veda Vyasa ever got into such a situation.

This is my view. I would be happy to know yours

The way it's explained to us; Path of self realisation- core aim of Dharma along which naturally flow Kindness, compassion, justice, peace and true happiness- is revealed for true seekers (Mumukshu) through Avatara. The message is conveyed to ordinary people through grace of two agencies. Sant/Bhakta and Acharya. Both are highly evolved souls and we are immensely benefitted by their benevolence/grace. Acharya as Guru is also saint/Bhakta, slight difference is in their methods of 'teaching'; 1) Bhakta demonstrates path to Brahm with a direct example of his own life. Generally 'Bhakti' yoga. They are primarily immersed and 'unified' with their God and their Bhakti sometimes manifest itself in their 'love songs' to God, Bhajan. Because they are concerning God/Brahm, Bhajan contain the same knowledge that Shatra are discussing in details. Advantage- simple and direct. 2) Acharya is the one who systematically compiles the message and core philosophy in what we call Shastra. They codify the details, as well interrelated tenets. Theirs is 'Gnyan Yoga'- Tatva Mimasa and codes for its practice in day to day life. Though both understands same goal. Here Acharya also receives the true knowledge through right 'tapa' and through grace of God. Both are evolved souls.
In this line, it appeared Arjun though receiving core knowledge, is primarily example of Sant/Bhakta. He is not creating/writing any Shastra. Ved Vyas is writing/revealing intricacies and beauty of whole message or path. While Sanjay, revelling in its beauty is on path of evolvement- Mumukshu. Dhritrashtra is representing that state, which under illusion, is not yet decided what is correct. Will he? It depends on individual.
But now as you have mentioned, Vyas himself is Ansh Avatar, then maybe Vaishampayan is example of Acharya. I need to know more...

Amazing posts by you. Thanks again.

1) "Yato Arjunah...sinnanyogi bhavita Arjunah, yodhdha Arjunah. The shlok frequently played here. Is it also from this Parva?
2) Considering immense beauty of 'words' and construction even in aside, can you point them out sometimes while expounding the core content?😊

Your explanation also fits in beautifully.

I have one doubt- why cant Arjuna be Mumukshu and Sanjaya the bhakta?
