Thanks a lot for so much info, I don't know much about the inside stories of MB, and I think exactly for people like me, the new MB is good, as it at least makes us aware of so much that we were never previously aware of.

The only problem with this is, the stories are entirely fictional!

If you want to know about the stories of Mahabharat read the book. This is a fantastic version in terms of cast, acting, costume, effects, set, etc. The plot however is terrible. They've ruined the plot beyond recognition :(

The show was originally 128 episodes but it was extended to 200 episodes and after the first extension, second extension was 100 episodes long, That makes the show 300 episodes long. ( If the first extension was a Hoax then the show is 228 episodes long but i think its 300 episodes)

The exile is quite long and there are many many things and incidents in it, which includes Lord Shiva's fight and Virat yudh.

guys thank you so very much to all of you who answered. So if 300 episodes are there then we are only half way through. This is great for me.

as far as real story story is concerned, I am not particularly squeamish, as I don't know intricacies of MB. But I can understand those who know it and feel offended or irritated with story distortions. For me at least, the show is great influence as because of this show only, I have decided to read MB and get in tough with my legacy and tradition. Once I get done with exams, MB will be the first book I will pick - all thanks to the show. So notwithstanding distortions, I am thankful.
