^^^^ Yup, she was Nalayani in her previous birth, very devoted to her husband, though he was aged and a leper. Her sattitva was legendary and even caused the Sun to stop rising.
As a reward for her devotion she was 'blessed' (?) with five husbands in her next birth.

Yeah, I heard this in Mangayarkarasi's discourse... "Pennin Perumai".

^^^ I have never heard of anything like the above. Sahadev never had any relationship w/ Duryodhan's wife. His wife was Jarasandha's daughter.

There is one ACK Bhanumati, probably recent, that takes off from the story of Vajranam (shown in Ramanand Sagar's Shri Krishna) that shows that Bhanu - son of Krishna/Satyabhama - had a daughter Bhanumati, who was captured by a mayavi asura friend of Vajranam (who Krishna killed in battle). Krishna, Arjun & Pradhyumna fought and killed that asura, and liberated the princess. However, since she was considered tainted for swayamvara purposes, Narada suggested that she marry Sahadev 🤔 (Personally, I consider this story very unlikely, as it happened after the war, and Sahadev, who was approximately Krishna's age, would have been like a granduncle for her, similar to Arjun. The whole Vajranam story seems invented)

The only Pandava who might have had not a direct relationship, but a friendship w/ Bhanumati's family would have been Bhima. Bhanumati had a sister Jalandhara, who was a great admirer of Bhima, and would address him as Raja Vrikodara. She once acted as an intermediary to arrange a meeting b/w Bhanumati & Krishna. Probably, since her sister was married to Duryodhan, her family was probably prevented from allowing her to marry Bhima, who was Duryodhan's greatest enemy.

^^ If Jalandhara and Bhanumati were Princesses of Kashi, then this ties in with a version I read where Jalandhara is actually married to Bhima. But he sees her about as often as he does Hidimba. And yes she did address him as Vrikodara...but her name was Balandhara in that version! It's crazy how bits and pieces get added in! 😆

Yes Jalandhara is also known as Valandhara / Balandhara. She was Bhanumati's sister, but fell in love with Bhima and married him.

No, Jalandhara & Valandhara are different. Valandhara was a princess of Kashi, and Bhima approached her father and married her. Jalandhara/Bhanumati were princesses of Trigartha - ruled by Susharma, Bhanumati's brother. That kingdom was a sworn enemy of Virata, got pummelled by Kichaka and tried invading them when Duryodhan wanted to fish out the Pandavas.

Since Bhanumati was married to Duryodhan, Jalandhar could not marry Bhima, since her kingdom was already allied w/ the Kauravas. Bhima's wife - Valandhara - was different.

It's somewhere in Adi Parva - don't ask me to search 😆 I think it was mentioned in one of the past threads on Mahabharata, in DBSK or MM forum. Probably the Pandava Parivar one.
Jalandhara - I got from a book from Subhas Mukherjee - who's who in Mahabharata.
