Chapter 16

As soon as Madhu left, Rishab Kundra buzzed for Bittuji. Bittuji walked in just as the Bhatias seated themselves across the table from Rishab Kundra. He looked around the cabin and wished the Bhatias, then looked at his boss who had a certain gleam in his eyes for further orders. He smiled inwardly knowing that his boss had something planned for them and that he was going to have the privilege to be a part of it.

"I didnt know that Deepali was interested in the business. I thought she only loved shopping, gossiping and trying her hand at crayons", Rishab started. "Crayons!! What do you mean crayons? I am a renowned artist and you know it. You yourself have bought 3 of my paintings" Dips was beside herself. "Oh really!! I must be mistaken then. Bittuji please make sure you take her paintings off from the walls from the office washrooms and cafeteria. I didn't know you were a renowned artist. I just bought them because they matched the colour of the walls." No one in the world could put someone in their place better than his boss, Bittuji mused. Bittuji could literally see the smoke coming out of Deepali's ears. If she were a volcano, no doubt she would have erupted by now. Suddenly, like an instant makeover, she changed tactics, from someone dripping with hatred and anger, she turned docile and teary. "Why the insult? What did I ever do?", Dips said in a small voice, bottom lip quivering. Rishab knew her well enough to know of her tactics. He looked her straight in the eye and said flatly, "Well you should have thought about it before you decided to purposely rip someones dress in your jealousy." And realizing the fact that he knew of her doing, like Jekyll and Hyde, she switched to her bad self again and stormed out of the office.

All this while, Mr. Bhatia was calmly listening to the conversation between his daughter and Rishab and was trying to understand the reason behind this spiteful exchange. Rishab has always been respectful to everyone including himself and his family. But also knows to give back ten times worse than he gets. At the same time he knows his daughter. Deepali has always been the spoilt daughter who will go to any lengths to get what she wants and can throw a hell of a tantrum if she doesn't get it. As Deepali left, Mr. Bhatia tried to salvage the situation. "Rishab, let it go. I will have a talk with Deepali. She is still a child", he began. "If she is still a child, maybe it is not too late to discipline her", Rishab said straightforwardly. "Anyway I think we have gathered here to discuss the promotion plans for the housing project, so lets get on with it", Rishab changed the topic and got his business face on.

While Bittuji was mentally storing the details of the verbal conflict for future amusement purposes, Sikander was mentally making a pact with himself to never cross Rishab Kundra. He had heard from people that you never cross Rishab Kundra because he will tear you to shreds and now he saw it for the first time. In a way he felt sorry for his sister.

As she left from the office, Madhu kept thinking about Rishab Kundra. Like the blabber-mouth she is, she began having a conversation with herself. At first she had a frown on her face. He is extremely rude, inconsiderate, proud, thinks no end of himself, just look at the way he was speaking to the Bhatias. But, suddenly a small smile creeped in, at the same time he is sweet and funny. She smiled remembering the way he was laughing so open heartedly. Hmm he is pretty good looking and has amazing hands. Wow, those hands... wait a minute!! What am I thinking. Focus!! Focus!! Ok where am I going? Ah yes, to meet Daddy at the hospital. Phew!! Seriously Madhu, you need to stop having such thoughts. That is a no-entry zone and you don't want to pay a fine do you? No naaha... So lets think about something else, lets see... yes how about global warming!! Yes that is a safe topic. The ice caps are melting with the increase in temperature. Hmm... I felt like I was melting last night when he looked at me the way he did and when he touched my lips I was hot and cold at the same time, my temperature was literally fluctuating. Whaaat!! Not again!!

If your weird, I am most definitely weird... Right from the time I was a kid my most favourite thing to do was day-dream and have similar conversations (just like Madhu in my FF) with myself... it helps me be a better writer.

I think it is a positive asset which should be developed and encouraged.

(1) Great Stress relieving technique
(2) Relaxes the mind leaving it renewed and refreshed
(3) Organised daydreaming helps to manage conflicts
(4) Boosts creativity and problem solving skills

But I should stress here, everything done in balance is good.

P.S. : I was on break for a week and half so was able to give you all speedy and longer updates. Unfortunately I have to work to survive and so it is back to the gruelling workforce for me, and so the shorter updates. But will still try to keep the coming on a regular basis.

Awesome Update 👏Clap
It is nice to see RK make mincemeat of Dipali. Today RK was at his best.
It is nice to see you explain about Madhu talking to herself. You are putting a lot of effort in bringing reality into each charater.
