Mahi Vij into family planning mode

February 23, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The 'Laagi Tujhse Lagan' actress, the scenic Maha Vij, is, indeed, very busy with her show but she has taken time to do some family planning! Well, the fact is that Mahi loves kids and wants lots of them in future.

"I would love to make babies because I love kids. I bond with them big time", expresses Mahi cheerfully. So, how is Mahi with kids? "I share a great rapport with children. I am very fond of my friend's daughter and one of my friends has just delivered a baby. Hence, I am so thrilled", proclaims Mahi excitedly.

So what kind of mother will Mahi be? "I will have at least 5 kids and play all day long with them", outlines the actress. Mahi surely will make a doting mother but we wonder what her future husband will feel about this fascination of hers? "He will have to fulfill his responsibilities and work hard for them as I will give them birth. I, though, will be busy having fun with them", tells a laughing Mahi with a hint of naughtiness. So, that is the plan Mahi has carved out for her future! Her babies will have an affectionate mother.

This picturesque actress is all set with her kiddy plans. But then what about her matrimonial plans? We wonder what her future groom's take would be on Mahi's plan?

Colleagues conniving to throw Mahi out?

There's something about Mahi why she often makes news for reasons other than her work. On most occasions, these talks turn out to be mere rumours... This time though, things have been exaggerated to a rather astonishing level.

If rumours are to be believed, the team of Colors show Laagi tujhse lagan is a divided lot with actors not being cordial with each other. Well, a true example of this was highlighted when Mahi's co-actors Aashka Goradia and Ansha Sayyed admitted to having a showdown with each other. Barely, few days later, it's now rumoured that a few of Mahi's co-actors are plotting to remove her out of the show.

When told about this, Mahi merely laughed at this news.

"Vow! this is news to me. I don't think anyone has a problem with me on the sets. I share a very professional relation with most of my co-actors. Besides, even if there was any merit in this tale, would the channel and the production get rid of their lead when their show is doing well? I appeal to everyone to simply ignore these rumours," said Vij.

Mahi's colleague Ridhi Dogra too rubbished off this rumour. She says, "I find this tale really amusing. Mahi, Vishal, Vinay and I are among the younger members of the show and so we gel with each very well. Though, I must admit that after the Aashka-Ansha spat, we're a bit quiet but there's no problem between any of us."

Well, going by Mahi and Ridhi's comments, it's better to ignore these tales but you cannot stop the rumour mills from functioning.

No joking! It's Mahi's birthday today

How ironical it is, Mahi Vij has turned wise by a year on All Fool's Day. Our Nakusha of Laagi tujhse lagan fame celebrates her birthday today. Perhaps, some might not believe it.

"Those who don't know me often ask me whether it's an April fool's joke whereas family and friends pour with their wishes," says Vij

Sadly, the girl hasn't been keeping too well these days. Despite the stress, Mahi shot over time yesterday so that she could get an off today.

What are the plans for today?

"I'm still having a bad cold. I'm getting an off after some time so, today I'm just going sit and relax with the family. I've celebrated my birthday on the sets earlier, thus tonight it will be a quite affair with the family."

Happy birthday Mahi!

Report Card time for Television's Little Stars
Monday, 03 May 2010 16:22

They have won your hearts with their adorable style and innocent charm. They can put the most professional actors to shame with their unbelievable confidence level and with the most startling dialogue delivery. They may be more popular in our country than some world leaders, but in school, they have to play the same role as everyone else - students!

Yes, we are talking about the young talented stars ruling the small screens. Be it Ichha from Uttaran or Jagdish and Anandi from Balika Vadhu, these guys have managed to score a fan following that totally belies their age.

But how do these little pixies manage when it comes to scoring in the 'much dreaded' phenomenon called EXAMS? Let's have a look as TellyCafe examines their report cards…

Avika Gor (Anandi – Balika Vadhu): Score - 76%

My shoot timings are in accordance with my school schedule. So I go to school in the mornings and then report to the sets of Balika Vadhu in the afternoon, and since my school remains closed on Saturdays and Sundays, I try to finish major portions of the shoot in these two days. I also study when I get time in between my shots. I finish off with my homework during that time.

Ishita Panchal: (Tapasya - Uttaran): Score- 90%

Well, my studies are planned a day in advance and the questions which I'm supposed to study are charted out a day before. Earlier, when I was a part of a reality show, I did not have much trouble but daily soaps are a little more demanding when it comes to working hours, but, thankfully, I have been able to manage. My mom makes it a point that I don't miss out on my studies and brings me my homework from school in case I am working and have to miss school that day.

Avinash Mukherjee (Jagdish or Jaggiya – Balika Vadhu): Score : 60 %

I have different days allotted for each subject. I make it a point to complete at least one chapter in a day. My mother is an academic professional so she helps me out with Social Studies and Science, and then I also have my tuition teacher, who helps me with the remaining subjects. I'm thankful to my school authorities, especially Chairman Dr. Augustine. F. Pinto and Managing Director, Grace Pinto, for their immense support and co- operation.

Sparsh Khanchandani (Ichha - Uttaran): Score – A +
It's not a problem to manage my studies along with the shoots. Currently I'm doing Zara Nachke Dikha , so I have to go for the shoots on an average of one day every week. I have also managed to maintain my score pre- and post- Uttaran.

Jai Thakkar (Sethji – Laagi Tujhse Lagan): Score – 70 %

I study at home as well as on the sets. I don't find it a problem to manage my shoots and my studies simultaneously. I love both equally and hence thoroughly enjoy them.

Jannat Ahmed (Kashi - Kashi): Score – 79%

I bring my work sheets to the sets and try to finish off with the homework between the shots. Also, I have a lot of support from the production house which arranges flexible working hours for me so I'm able to manage my studies with acting.

With the efforts these young stars put in their studies and career, it's no wonder the kind of work ethic they develop. We wish them all the luck in all their endeavours and hope they become good role models to all the young students out there.
