He tormented Nakusha in the past until the girl found a savior in Duttabhai. Perhaps, Nakusha must have thought that she's seen the last of Inspector More. However, bad cop More, played by Pawan Malhotra, will return to Laagi Tuhjse Lagan in near future.

A source informs, "More's character aroused a lot of interest among the viewers. Though negative, More had a certain sense of humour about him. In the last episode, Duttabhai beat him up real bad. However, that's not the end of him. He will surely comeback into the show again to avenge his humiliation. He still hasn't given up on Nakusha."

An actor requesting anonymity says, "I don't how and when he'll return, but I've heard that Pawan Malhotra will be coming back for a short period again."

Despite repeated attempts, Pawan Malhotra remained unavailable for comment.

He's the undisputed don of television. Not that he's gunned down his rivals. In fact, he's all by himself. After all, there are barely one or two shows depicting the life of gangsters. Prominent among them is Colors show Laagi Tujhse Lagan, wherein Duttabhau, an underworld don finds himself married to a dark and ugly looking Nakusha.

(For the records, Nakusha is actually a fair princess who paints her body black)

Presently, the show is at a pivotal stage where Duttabhau, played by Mishal Raheja, is livid to learn that his bride-to-be has vanished, and instead, he has tied the knot with the ugly Nakusha.

That's the case in reel life. We asked the actor, whether he would marry a dark girl in real life too? The actor surprised us with his reply.

He says, "It's a bad thing to profile people on the basis of their colour. However, I'll be lying if I say that I don't want a fair girl. Honestly speaking, a girl's looks do matter to me. Deep in their hearts most guys prefer the fairer skin. I give 50 per cent consideration to looks, and the rest boils down to the nature."

So, has Mr.Raheja found his 50:50 girl?

"No, I haven't. I was in a relationship that lasted for four years. Unfortunately, things didn't click between us. I got too busy with my work. She tried to give our relationship another chance, but I wasn't prepared for it. I'm a mamma's boy and a little demanding by nature. I'm 27 now. I don't see myself getting married for at least 4-5 years. I want to give all the happiness in the world to my parents," replied our Duttabhau.

Well, perhaps Raheja's not-so-fair fans must be heartbroken now.

After girls, it's over to guns now. The actor is fond of dark films such as Donnie Brasco, God Father and Sarkar. Al Pacino, Robert de Niro, Johnny Depp and Amitabh Bachchan are his favourite actors.

"The best thing about such films is that the characters tend to speak more with their eyes than with words. Though Duttabhai is a Maharastrian don, he has drawn inspiration from the great reel life dons. As an actor, you put in 40 per cent originally to your character. The rest is derived by following mannerism of other great characters of the past," said Raheja.

Despite its underworld background, Laagi Tujhse Lagan has found favour with the viewers.

Raheja sighs, "I'm pleasantly surprised to see that the people have taken to this show. It's always the woman who pays the protagonist in a TV show. I didn't want to do typical saas-bahu sagas. It feels really nice that your work is appreciated."

Keep going Duttabhau!

TV's Own Devdas Mishal asked to report drunk

May 20, 2010 by FSJ

Shah Rukh Khan hissed like a serpent to play his evil double in Duplicate. Shabana Azmi put on tons of weight to play the madam in Mandi. Rajendra Kumar rearranged the furniture of his house and tried walking blindfolded to get under the skin of a blind man for Saathi. Sunil Dutt swam across the river each day to get a feel of his boatman character in Milan.

Many film actors have walked the extra mile when they want to imbue realism into their performance. And now television actors too are clamouring to get close to reality. In a bid to give a 'realistic' feel to a drunken scene in Laagi Tujhse Lagan, lead actor Mishal Raheja, who plays the don Dattabhau, was asked to have a few stiff drinks before reporting on the sets.

The background to the scene: the intense and introverted Dattabhau (Mishal) realises that his bride-to-be, Supriya, has eloped with her bodyguard. In a fit of rage, a drunken Dattabhau manhandles his house help, Nakusha, because he suspects her of abetting Supriya in the elopement. To add fuel to the fire, Nakusha inadvertently admits that she loves him and further invokes Dattabhau's rage.

This crucial scene required Mishal to be uncontrollably furious for a prolonged period of time; it was to be shot for three days. And Mishal was asked to be suitably high. However, Mishal developed cold feet at the last moment. He says, "I was against the idea of drinking for a scene. There are kids who watch the show and I thought it would send out a wrong message to them if they came to know that I had come drunk on the sets."

"Since I'm not a heavy drinker, it would have been difficult for me to replicate being drunk on screen. So I went to a city pub and downed a few pegs"

At the same time, Mishal was determined to enact the sequence with elan. So, the actor came up with a novel plan to prepare himself for his Devdas avatar. He reveals, "Acting is all about memory; an actor draws upon all the different kind of emotions he goes through in his real life. But since I'm not a heavy drinker, it would have been difficult for me to replicate being drunk on screen. So, I went to a city pub, Woodside Inn, with two of my friends and downed a few pegs. After that, I made mental notes of the way I babbled and swayed. The next day, I incorporated the gestures into my performance. I had not told my friends that I was doing it for my shoot because they would have added their inputs and confused me."

Couldn't he have done the same scene by observing others? Mishal has a ready answer. "When you observe others, you can only see the body language. But I wanted to 'feel' the emotion; and so decided to 'get drunk' myself."

This young professional avers, "If I can manage a scene without drinking, I would rather not drink; if the scene had not worked I would have probably had a few drinks to make it look authentic. Luckily, it worked for me without resorting to drinking. I got a lot of congratulatory messages from the channel. They liked the scene a lot." What's Mishal's poison? He flashes his famous, dimpled smile and says, "Vodka and diet coke."

One for the road, Mishal.

Nakusha, of Laagi Tujhse Lagan today has very much become a household name. Mahhi Vij who plays the character of the Nakusha, who lives in the slums of Mumbai has no regret about her role. This sensational face was first noticed in DJ Aqeel's music video Tu Hai Wahi. She has also tried her hands in Malyalam movie opposite superstar Mamoothy. In a candid interview she talks about the challenges in the character she has to face and yet make her mark in the industry.

How did you land the role of Nakusha in Laagi Tujhse Lagan?

Well Nakusha was my destiny.I went for the auditions. I gave the audition and eventually I got to know that I am playing Nakusha.

Were you apprehensive of playing an unattractive girl?

No I think it is a very challenging role. At such an age I am playing such an unglamorous role. It gives me immense satisfaction as an actor. I had no inhibitions about the makeup that I had to put in order to look ugly as that was the demand of the role. It came across to me as a challenging role in fact.

Is it difficult to essay the role of Nakusha? How much time did it take to wear Nakusha's make-up?

It's not difficult; it's more of a challenging role. It does not take time to wear the make-up, but it takes time to remove the make-up. Well Nakusha is not different from me. I am like Nakusha. I love my family and I am a family person like her.

Did the success of serials like Bidaai, Saath Phere inspire you to take up this role?

No, Lagi Tujhse Laagan's storyline is completely different. Nakusha is a beautiful girl, who's made to look ugly due to the undue circumstances by her mother. So Nakusha is not like other dark-skinned girls instead she is truly beautiful who is made to look bad.

What's your idea of relaxation?

I love going to shopping like other girls and I love staying with my family. So they are my ultimate moment of relaxation.

Do you follow any proper diet or health routine?

No, I am a complete foodie. I love eating. If there's a need I cut down in my quantity of intake.

Being a Delhi girl, is it difficult to lead a life in Mumbai?

Well I always believe in destiny and I think I am blessed. The shift to Mumbai was a very conscious effort. My professional commitment brought me here. I shifted to Mumbai with my parents, and started modeling here. I did couple of music videos and south films. And staying with your family, life became easy but I always thank God that I am never out of work.

Is your next destination Bollywood?

Let's see. Well if anything good comes up, I will definitely take it up. But right now, I am very busy with Lagi Tujhse Lagan.

Off-screen how to describe Mahhi Vij?

I am conservative. Hate parties and love staying with family. Well Mahhi Vij is a quiet person and not a party animal.

Aashka Goradia Receives Death Threats And Vulgar Messages On Facebook!

Aashka Goradia
Aashka Goradia, who is currently seen in Laagi Tujhse Lagan as the vamp, had to deal with a real life vamp recently. Social networking sites have become a new platform where the stars interact with their fans but it seems that it's not just good that happens on these sites.

Recently, Aashka noticed a few comments using foul language on her fan page on facebook and was stunned. She could not delete them as she was not the administrator of the page but saw that her fans were reacting strongly. This notorious brat had also posted some messages threatening the actress's life, which got her worried and she finally decided to file a complaint at the Bandra Kurla Complex police station, who then contacted the facebook authorities. After no concrete results for two weeks, she finally hired professional hackers and found out that a 17 year boy named Siddhart, a resident of Gurgaon was behind the nuisance.

Goradia has a doubt that Siddhart is not the only one behind her mental harassment. She has stated that her name is very uncommon and someone targeting her specifically is very unusual. Looking at the kind of comments posted, she feels that there is some woman who wants to spoil her image and therefore, has made the boy to do the crime. She has hired criminal lawyers to get the truth out. However, Goradia is not afraid of using facebook even after this episode. She will continue to connect with her fans not giving any importance to such problematic elements. We sure must say…Aashka is one brave girl!

She's in her early twenties yet Ridhi Dogra (a.k.a Supriya of Laagi Tuhjse Lagan fame) has become an advisor for friends both on and off screen.

Dogra has achieved an Honors in Psychology and that makes her apt to listen to and understand people's problems. So what is it that her friends usually seek from her?

"Usually, they come to me for matters of the heart. It won't be right on my part to name anyone or their problems. I do this only for my close aides and not for everyone. Should I listen to my heart or mind? An individual is often caught in this battle. In most cases, it is advisable that you follow your heart," enunciated Dogra.

So, has Dr.Ridhi's advice paid any dividends?

"I don't think I can answer that. That's for my friends to say. And, I can't' be revealing their names," the actress sighed.

Solving other's problems is fine but who does our pretty girl look up to when she's feeling low?

"That's the problem that most of us face. Often, we are there to guide others, but when we ourselves need help, we fail to find the answers. Perhaps that's the irony we psychologists face," replied Dogra in quizzical tone.

The girl from Himachal Pradesh is currently biding her time away at home eagerly awaiting her return to Laagi Tujhse Lagan. In her last episode, Supriya (Ridhi) ran away hours before her wedding to Dattabhau. She's also doing Balaji Telefilms desi Twilight for Star One.

"That's the brief given to me after my last shoot. Supriya is meant to come back into the life of Dattabhau. I haven't signed any new show as yet. I'm hoping to return to Laagi.. Though, I don't know when that will happen," she sighed.

Laagi Tujhse Lagan or not, but Ridhi's fans will hope to see her soon on TV.

Vinay's flair for comedy

Vinay Rohrra, who's seen in Laagi Tujh Se Lagan, is playing a comic gangster on screen. In real life too this young actor has a flair for comedy.

He's good at imitating people's expressions and their way of talking and everyone around him has a blast when he gets into his imitation mode. He hasn't spared his co-star Mahii Vij either and does a good job of acting out the way Mahii behaves. Vinay's all-time favourite when it comes to imitating is SRK in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayege and Darr, he tells us. And by the way, he can imitate comedians Sunil Pal and Raju Srivastav too! What better than imitating the imitation kings themselves!

As reported earlier by TellyCafe, Dutta Bhau (Mishal Raheja) weds Nakusha (Mahi Vij) to take revenge and make her life hell and accordingly the whole process progresses but suddenly now, their plan falls through leading to danger.
A source informed us, " Soon Dutta Bhau will force Nakusha to handle a gun as he feels that she should know how to fire one simply because she is a gangster's wife. He gives her a loaded gun against her will and threatens her in order to make her fire the gun. She has to obey Dutta however unwilling she may be. And shoots in front of her family."
"But the bullet hits Kalavati's (Aashka Goradia) hand, resulting in a massive injury. The episode will air on coming Monday," signs off our source.
We contacted Mahi and she says, "If you ask me about the gun holding experience then it was just great but Nakusha didn't enjoy it. However, I had a lot of fun with the gun and kept firing it in the air all time just for fun."
Don't miss Naku firing at Kalavati this coming week!
