Ashu wanted to hold her and kiss her and convince her that he will find a way to mend the mistake he did, he wanted to make her hear him out that he is nothing without her, that he really loves her '.and more importantly he wanted to reassure himself that Nidhi also loves him , that she don't hate him '!

Nidhi on other hand moved towards kitchen, she doesn't know why! How hard she may try but in the end she is cursing herself for being rude to him, for staying away from him'A tiny little voice from her inside asking her to hear him out before judging him but her hurt stopping her to face him...After finishing breakfast, outside ashu waited for her so that together they can leave for hospital. Nidhi came and sank in her seat as ashu started the car. She stared out of window to avoid his gaze, after a while ashu spoke "Nidhi'hmm...Bed#13, how is he doing?"

Nidhi looked at him with confused expression "what? Ohh he is fine'he had joint and back pain, so we did ELISA test just to make sure he is not infected with dengue.

Ashu: So what does result say

Nidhi: its negative...it's viral, we put him in antibiotic now.

Ashu nodded his head .again Nidhi became silent 'Ashu stopped his car in parking lot"hmm'Nidhi, I might not be able to be there for lunch today ...I have surgery scheduled, so don't wait for me ...ok"

Nidhi did not replied, Ashu looked at her and slowly mumbled "Nidhi'I ...Hmm..I know "

Nidhi turned towards him "please Ashuthosh 'not again, I don't want to spoil my mood right now, so pls "

Ashu cried in despair "Ok fine then ...I will not disturb you anymore "before Nidhi could stop him, he got down and moved away in a huff .Nidhi shot up from her seat angry and frustrated as him and walked towards KGH with a smirk all over her face.

It was hectic day for Nidhi, it was evening when she finished with checking all patients reports...she remembered that she did not had proper lunch as her tummy grumbled with hunger. For a second she wondered whether ashu had his lunch, to ask him she got up and moved towards his cabin but then changed her mind and turned around to cafeteria.

She took sandwich and sat in a corner table just then she sensed someone standing beside her...She looked up to find ashu standing with 2 glass of tea "I ...I was helping myself with a cup, saw you coming '.here take it "

Nidhi swallowed her sandwich in a bite and replied "I don't want ...Thank you!"

Ashu stared at her for few seconds and sat in front of her "Ok fine ...I will drink then, well why you came near my cabin ...hmm just now I saw you coming "

Nidhi choked hearing his words, slowly she chewed remaining sandwich and replied "I came to show you some reports, needed your expertise on that ' "

Ashu "ok, you can come now '.well I am free for some time "

Nidhi nodded her head. While returning they heard commotion near entrance...they saw 2 young man were wheeled towards ER, It was clear from the sight that one person got severe concussion in head...Ashu and Nidhi both ran inside, immediately Nidhi took situation under control 'she checked his pulse and called orthopedic to make sure there is no neck and spinal chord injury. Other guy was not much injured few scratches on his face and elbow, Nidhi asked ahana to take care of him'few minutes later, ahana came back rushing to her stating that the guy having nausea and mild head ache. Nidhi prescribed few medicines and asked ahana to report back in case of any complications'.

Nidhi came out after shifting the patient to ward to find Ashuthosh waiting for her...He looked angry when she reached him " nidhi , can I ask on what basis you prescribed him medicines without checking "

Nidhi was lost for a second " I ..I was just 'what happened?"

Ashu "good that Dr Priyanka came at right moment 'the case was myocardial contusion! How can you be so careless "

Nidhi mumbled a "sorry"..Ashu got even angrier looking at her "sorry! You are saying just sorry, if DR Priyanka did not checked him at right time...he could have died, just sorry will not do DR Nidhi "

By that time a small crowd gathered watching the scene unfolding in front of them, tears welled up in nidhi's eyes ,she averted her eyes to hide the tears and mumbled " you are right Ashuthosh , one sorry will not do anything '.we could have lost him , he could have died !"

Ashu looked at nidhi, as he understood what she really meant 'he wonder, how he expected nidhi to forgive him just like that after whatever he did to her baba'She could have lost her baba because of him' he wanted to tell her about everything but he can't because he couldn't stand for her to have that look on her face all the time. He just needs her to look at him like she used to once 'he want her to forgive him and give one chance to mend everything 'and accept him back in her life '!

Ashu excused and headed towards his cabin'.he grabbed his car keys and moved out in haste. Nidhi saw him going out 'his eyes lowered to hide the pain he is suffering, she did not failed to notice the regret in his eyes 'It pained her to see him like that !. Her thoughts were interrupted as priyanka called her to check one patient who needed her attention.

Ashu drived aimlessly thinking about everything and sometime about nothing and then suddenly he stopped his car near juncture'as cold wind swept through him he felt bit cheerful. He stared at dark blue sky 'he thought about nidhi and her words kept on coming to him "one sorry will not do anything '.we could have lost him, he could have died!" , he felt so frustrated as he don't know '.what will make her happy again !, make her forgive him ' suddenly he picked up his mobile and dialed the number '.to the person with whom he broke all relationship long back, to the person who did not left a single chance to spoil nidhi's life'!

After some time, he was seated in restaurant waiting for mallika. He saw her coming towards him with her one hand on her little bump with a huge smile plastered on her face. She silently took a seat beside him and sat rubbing her temples "hello Ashuthosh '.Sorry for the delay ...I "

Ashu cut her in between "that's ok Mallika '..I don't want to waste any more time of yours!" with that mallika's smile faded .she tried to touch his hand , but Ashuthosh took this hand back " mallika , I came to give you something 'which I should have given long back..Because'.after this..I don't want to keep any relation with you '.I .."

Mallika "Ashuthosh, what are you talking about?..I mean 'what happened?"

Ashu buried his hand in his side pocket and took out check copy "here take it mallika, the amount for which you purchased baba's house '!

Mallika : Ashuthosh '.Why are you doing this ? I gifted you because I know what and how much that house means to you '.Please I don't want "

Ashu : mallika , am glad to know that you care so much about my happiness but 'you should have known that 'by putting nidhi's baba's life at danger , I can never be happy'.you should have know what nidhi and her family means to me .but sad to know that you never understood !

Mallika looked at him with flushed face, she blabbered something but Ashu cut her in between "that's ok'I don't need any explanation'here is the amount for which you and your brother pressurized nidhi's baba!..Now I think I should be going ..take care "

Mallika try to stop him but before that Ashu move out without even looking back once.

Nidhi wander in her bedroom, she became restless as fear grip her hard...she pick up her mobile and try to call ashu and again she receive the same message that his cell phone is switched off .

Its 5 past 11 but still ashu not at home, he never came so late..if any surgery or emergency he make sure to inform before hand so that no will worry 'but today there is no call nor any news 'she just prayed that he is safe and nothing Is wrong with him..Bb and Hk stayed with her for sometime after a while she only asked them to sleep 'they first refused and told her that they will wait till ashu return. But nidhi convinced them that ashu might be busy in emergency and he might have not got time to inform'after some time they both agreed and retired back to their room.

Nidhi sat on corner of her bed as tears fell down her cheeks '.She cursed herself and thought "why on earth she behaved like that with him!"Suddenly her bed room door opened 'there Ashu was standing. he looked tired just like she saw him last time 'as a reflex action , she moved towards him and grabbed him by collar " where were you'do you have any idea , how worried we were '.cant you just called once and informed that you will be late! , now don't tell sorry again"

Ashu opened his mouth to speak "nidhi'.its'its'!"

Nidhi: what? '.

Ashu: Nidhi, my car got punctured and there was charge in my mobile'.sorry! I don't have any way but to apologize for what I did 'I am sorry for worrying you all "

She glared at him, he thought she will punch him hard but she did something which surprised him'she buried her face in chest and hugged him'in an instant Ashu enveloped her in tight hug..She looked up and realized how close they were...She blinked few times...he caressed her cheeks softly, she moaned in response ' he proceed to put his hand around her waist and pulled her towards him'.Now they were standing so close that nidhi can feel his warm breath on her cheeks'. she closed her eyes and slowly and he cupped her face in his hands and murmured softly "Nidhi"

She did not opened her eyes, as if in a deep trance she stood their clinging to him 'sinking in his strong arms, she mumbled "hmm"

Ashu slowly whispered "Shall I kiss you '?"

As if something shook her from inside, she jumped out of his arms ' and cried"Nooo'.Hmm'you better go and change 'By the time I will keep your dinner ready "

Ashu chuckle looking at her and mumble to himself "I shouldn't have asked in the first place '"

Nidhi look at him sharply "what you just said '?"

Ashu smile to himself "oh nothing nidhi '.Nothing."

She gives him on last glance and dash out of her bedroom'.!
