Sorry Mudra, have been a bit rushed for time over the last two days...hence the short reply earlier but your post was far too pertinent to be ignored...so, I chipped in with a short response...

I think wanting to pursue a career or remain a homemaker is a choice every woman has to make...there is no right and wrong...no one size fits all...apart from the woman;'s own natural inclination, so many other factors like family, social and economic background etc go into making this choice...some women choose what they choose simply because they have no other choice...if that makes any sense!

Coming to Nidhi, like you have pointed out, academic excellence is not achieved easily...while she may have been a reluctant student, she was clearly a committed one...and the few instances where she was actually shown practising her medical skills revealed that she is blessed with a compassionate nature, which is as important for a doctor as medical knowledge...in fact, in my opinion, this is what sets the great doctors apart from the good doctors...and she was failry diligent too, as revealed by the seq where Malllika substituted the wrong drug...so her skills were never under question...but yes, she believed herself to be sort of bullied into the profession by her father and was trying to rebel against it...so her natural rebellious nature was trying to curb her natural healing instincts...

Yes, she quit post the fracas with Ashutosh and did not bother going back till now...but then, the events in her life have also conspired against her...more often than not, when you are in the midst of a personal crisis, your work tends to suffer...and this is what happened with her...events sort of snowballed in such a way that she was not left with much time to dwell on her professional ambitions or lack of them...Why do we need to be so harsh on her for that? All of us learn from our life experiences and one hopes she will too. I don't think anyone needs to be blamed for her current situation. It has just transpired the way it has. I think she needs to be applauded for her desire and effort to set things right at least now. No point crying over the past or what could have been!

Coming to the issue of balancing family and career, this is a battle that women world over fight everyday...so Nidhi is not facing a unique situation...like women before her have resolved it in their own ways, she too will...she is blessed with an incredibly supportive family...am sure it won't be too impossible for her to do the balancing act...yes, it will be tough emotionally...there will be moments when she will feel guilt stricken as a mother...there will be moments when she may even mildly resent her husband and kid for curbing her professional growth...whether these feelings are rational or not is not of consequence.,...she will still go through them...the fact is she is at least blessed to be in a situation where her social and economic background still permit her to make her choices...there are so many women out there who don't have the luxury of that choice!

mudra very good post...

every woman today balances career ,home and kids...it is a choice most of them make..i myself have two friends starking contrast..one chose to be a home maker ,gave up job and is rearing 2 kids..she is very happy and content...another had an age gap marriage and family pressure and her own decision she immediately conceived ...took a break till the kid was a year old then went for a job and now is pursuing her post doctorate...her biggest support is her husband who pushed and pushed her to take up her studies back...so she did,,,,she manages her home ,kid and studies quite brilliantly ...and at one time she was ur impulsive ,out going care free girl...

so nidhi's situation is not unique...and whatever she has chosen and will chose i am sure she will manage..the girl has an inate quality of giving her whole heart and soul into anything she does

be it her med studies or even her internship start or being in love or being a daughter in law...she has never compromised...yesterday itself it showed the girl who never cld wake up got up early cooked breakfast ,lunch and then is getting ready for work

so given an opportunity nidhi can balance all including a kid if that she what she wants...we all are born multi taskers...nature nurtures us into respective roles...and she is lucky she has full support from her family ...

am happy atleast she decided to pursue her internship ..just hope the writer does not snap it off abruptly like previous scenarios but she does become a responsible doctor and ashutosh is her mentor...

Thank you for replying sun...
As you say we are all multi taskers and we always put our level best..
I really want to see Nidhi in her new role as wife, doctor & mother and Ashutosh as a supportive husband... I guess the best of the KTLK is yet to come... looking forward for AshNI heart to heart convos...

Thank god... KTLK has become worth watching again...

When a husband-wife relationship is so fraught with innate conflicts, why do they need to bring in external elements like Mallika or Rohan to make the story spicy? Why can't they have real poeple populate shows for a change instead of schemers, manipulators and axe murderers?!

loved the word 'axe-murderers'... as the story writer himself donned that character...😆

As such there is an age-gap element... they must have initially thought of highlighting using Mallika and Rohan...This was the reason why, Mallika was a good friend for 12 years... and initially Rohan was a good fella...

But, later succumbed to the obvious reasons of sustenance (read TRP) and gave into kekta's ways...wasting so much of footage...

Nevertheless, I am praying God, that this Nidhi's multi tasking and Ashutosh's maturity should be the main stay of the story,

instead of... 'Ashutosh purposely given her admin duties to shoo away her from the daktari and agree to have child' / Nidhi herself leaves the job impulsively...😡

You know, Mudra, I actually liked the sophistication of Mallika and the angst of her unrequited love initially...I lked that depth to their relationship and both their attempts to deal with the situation in a mature fashion...it was only after they decided to convert a sophisticated woman into a scheming witch that I started having problems...why couldn't they have allowed that character to retain its dignity?!
