Very relevant and pertinent questiosn here.
Women with strong family support can manage career and family both. In nidhi's case she has her husband, DB, BB CB HK CS Shyama Aunty et all ..
she can definitely handle both.
I'ts more challenging for a woman who does not have a supportive family.
And in India, if there is a supportive Grand parent at home and a good doemestic help, you can attempt to do both.
It will still be challenging though ...and to prepare for Post Grad admissions test with a crying baby in the crib... But who said life is easy :)

Wonderful post Mudra!Really enjoyed the episode today and am glad they have addressed this issue at least.Nidhi has got thinking today about falling behind the herd which she should have done a very long time ago instead of wasting time doing nothing.In society a career post marriage can be difficult to maintain...the balance in having kids,running your house hold adn your duty towards your career too is not an easy task.Having kids late can become medically complicated but here I hope they manage to show that it can achieved in a sensible manner as in India today there are women who have made a name through their career and have balanced their duties towards their children,husband/family.What I don't understand is why Ashu has assigned her to Admin duties...to fulfill her internship she will have to learn all round in every department...don't want this to be an excuse for the family planning he wants to do.

Mudra..indeed the show is addressing a real life problem that so many women like us have faced and are facing...the conflict between professional ambition and maternal responsibilities...hope the issue is sensitively handled and a positive message sent across to the millions of women out there...!

@bold
never... in India, the situation is more difficult as certain mind sets...

Even if the in-law's place is very supportive, a daughter-in-law's place is written on an invisible rock stone... everybody has expectations and no one to share closely... after all, a crying baby is a day-today physical, mental and an emotional challenge a mother has to face.

Thanks Shazzie for responding.

yes yesterday's episode has addressed a realistic problem. The physical health condition and the chores to be done as a mother, run after the needs and necessities... impossible for a mother to do multitasking and excelling in it... and over that, though you set your priorities right mentally, somehow the comments from others like Dr.Jyothika (in the show)... keep ringing the bell... which will disturb...

A big sigh of relief that Ashutosh didnot stop her enthusiasm and hope he will encourage her this way. But I am equally dreading that given the track record of CVs, they might turn up making ashutosh given the admin duties purposely

Nidhi ws right in choosing martial bliss over her medical job... Bcoz, she did MBBS for her mom's final wish sake.. She wasn't even keen to re-join when ashu hd asked her several times.. She only said to him that she will think abt it.. She ws more concerned abt her love life with ashu than anything else.. He ws,will be everything for her.. That ws her priorty to get ashni's rishta accepted by her family... Anyway watever time that she spend in kotnis as a intern she hs full filled her duty to the point.. Even when she ws given late night duties.. So her dedication to her internship can't be taken lightly on the basis that she went for martial bliss..

Thank you Sujatha for replying.. Infact, I was expecting a bigger and detailed post from you.

Unfortunately, a woman bogged down by many responsibilities of equal magnitude always is put at the receiving end. In the process of satisfying every one at home and at work puts on a sharper edge of the knife...
As you say, I hope this issue is handled sensitively instead of stopping abruptly.

in india girls didn't get much opportunities compare to western countries and it will take time too.govt is working for that,but peoples awareness is too necessary.talking about nidhi she choosed career by her baba's insist.she was not interested in it.and after that also she didn't take it so serious.ashu also tried that she start her practice but after ashni's patch up she was more interested in marriage not in doctory.so 95% she is responsible for her career.and if she wanted to built her career first she should say ashu that after internship i will merry.ashu is that type of guy who cand understand and he may became agree in her decession.
