Dear Friends

It feels terrible that today would be the last day of my favourite show. Cant believe that I had become so addicted to this wonderful show

I am not much of a talented writer like all of you on this thread but I have read all the writings and analysis on this thread by all the wonderful writers. You guys helped me understand the nuances of the show and wonderful writing for this show. This show was indeed unique and what wonderfully flawed characters... they are so like all of us normal human beings. This is what sets this show apart from others. I am happy that at least we got to see some happy moments in the lives of Devkahsi even if it was rushed. Their journey to parenthood this time together would have been wonderful and would have been the perfect end to the wonderful love story of Dev and Sonakshi.

I am sure that Dev and Sonakshi would forever live in the hearts of all of us viewers as all of us want to be loved by our spouses/ partners the way Dev loves Sona and Sona loves Dev.

Its very difficult to say goodbye ...but it has really been a very wonderful journey...

Love and cheers

Asha

Suyash- I mentioned about the show hailing patriarchy.

am definitely loving Dev, but not Sonakshi . She chooses to hide her true emotions. Her fall back is still Boses. I think this hiding real emotions is Asha's trait.

Also Asha is the one displaying partriarchy and hailing it, not Ishwari so much.
Though Ishwari is also making a big deal out of DIL visiting her parent's house and it does not go well with me.

Also , it's bad that Asha is sneaking in non-veg food... Sonakshi said she will eat it on terrace. Not sure if that is happening for 2-3 months? Was it mentioned or assumed by you?
My post had nothing against Dev/Ishwari. .. Just my own feeling which can be different from you.

Suyash, thanks for the wonderful post and explanation. I totally agree that both Dev and Ishwari have been so understanding that they would have obliged their DIL's cravings. I mean Dev wouldn't have minded driving her to her parents house everyday where she could spend some time and have her choice of food. I mean she was shown as not stopping to go to office, so what would stop her from going to Bose house. From my perspective it was disrespectful of both Sonakshi and Boses not to tell the truth. What if Ronita did the same and said she wants to go to her maika as she is not comfortable in being herself with Boses. Would Bijoy have accepted it without creating a scene. I doubt it.

It goes back the season 1 episodes, where in one of the episode Sonakshi says "... sirf batana nahi hota, baantna bhi padtha hai". Also to Ritwick's words -- if you eat pizza without eating the crust, then how will you enjoy the taste of pizza. If Sonakshi always only wants to show her goody goody side to Dev, then their relationship will always be incomplete. Expecting Dev and Ishwari to be honest and truthful, including her in their lives completely is right from Sonakshi's pov. But the converse is true too. She needs to integrate them in her life and consider them as her "apna" for them to have a happy and healthy relationship.

Maybe I am expecting a bit too much from the Boses who always exercise double standards where they don't follow what they preach or advise. But Asha or Bijoy could have told her that if she expects Dev and Ishwari not to lie to her, then it was only fair that she was honest and truthful to and with them. I somehow feel that leading a double life is never conducive to both mental and emotional health.

Some people may not like me saying it, but I feel that Vickky and Elena are better than Dev and Sonakshi as a couple. They might be selfish and do a lot of bad things. But as husband and wife they are honest with each other and know each other. Vickky didn't have to say anything for Elena to know that it was Dev who gave him the company and the life they are leading. Vickky didn't need anyone to tell him that it was Elena who revealed the truth of his misdoings to Dev. And a husband and wife relationship only thrives when both husband and wife are honest with each other. Here as long as Sonakshi hides her negatives and only presents her picture perfect image to Dev, they can never have that healthy relationship. The relationship will always be lopsided and incomplete.

Sometimes, we forget that life is not like science and that 1 + 1 is not always equals to 2... What I mean is, each character of this show is flawed...

So, if the characters are gray, then how can anyone's relationship be flawless??

Like @Shaavi said that Vicky and Elena has certain traits which might make them seem like a better couple than Dev and Sonakshi... But, there are tens of things where Devakshi is able to present themselves as the stronger of the two...

The biggest with yesterday's segment was that the writers in order to show some funny and light-hearted scenes ended up touching a topic which is sensitive to many of its viewers...

While Vicky and Elena can be considered in some ways, more honest with each other... Dev and Sona definitely has a much better understanding of each other...

Yesterday, seeing the look of wonder and excitement on Dev's face, when Sona announced that she has a craving for 'Halwa' made me realize thaht this man is a man who understands the worth of these moments...

He is a person who missed every single thing the first time around... And, now he wishes to experience everything which doesn't include only the good parts that everyone speaks about but also the bits which might be unpleasant or frustrate someone else...

Saurabh is also going through the same phase as him but since the start, he is more interested in the good bits and hesitates to deal with things when they get rough... For him, he has to go through this phase to finally meet his child... (I am not saying that he does not love or is not concerned for Ronita...)

I don't think he will remember what cravings did his wife have but he will definitely remember how his wife made his life a living hell...

On the other hand, Dev wants to experience Sona's tantrums or will always remember the demands that Sona made and cherish them as very fond memories... He understands the worth of such small moments since he missed it the first time around...

Hence, even though, he might have sad that Sona hid the truth from him but without even knowing, Sonakshi unintentionally fulfilled his wish to experience both the good and bad, that usually comes with pregnancy...

Now, coming to Sonakshi...

She is well aware of the longing in Dev to experience the joys of becoming a father... And, this pregnancy is sort of... a way for her to bring him this happiness and fulfill his ardent wish...

(At the same time, she will also want to experience pregnancy with her husband by her side)

Since, she knows how much it means to him... Therefore, she only wants to give him happiness and hence, doesn't want to indulge in anything which might make him sad... I am pretty sure that she has included him in all the events which he regrets missing the first time around..

Unfortunately, in her wish to only give him happiness, she unintentionally escalated a minor issue of her having a craving for non-veg to the level, we saw yesterday... Like I said in my previous post, that it is impossible for anyone to understand each and every thought of the other person, even the said person is their life partner...

But, it is a minor blip and will soon be forgotten by both Dev and Sona in the happiness of welcoming their child into this world...

Frankly, I am not expecting to see much considering how much writers love other characters like Vicky-Elena and Saurabh-Ronita (and how can we forget, that Ronita is also going to deliver a baby)...

I just hope that whatever we see of Devakshi today just brings me a sense of peace and contentment... And, that is the only thing I wish for my beloved Devakshi...

And, I can't wait to see Mr. Aubhodro meeting his unborn child for the first time...

And, before I forget, a special mention to Erica for her stupendous performance in yesterday's episode considering she was emoting without the presence of Shaheer...
As well as for making Sonakshi so much memorable...

Sometimes, I feel that in all the talks about the chemistry shared between her and Shaheer or Supriya ji's and Shaheer's acting performance... Her contribution is the show's success goes unnoticed...

She definitely deserves all the credit in the world for her amazing work as Dr. Sonakshi Bose/Dixit...

I really was controlling myself from posting as I was trying to get in terms that the show was ending but today once it ended I had tears in my eyes but it was bittersweet, bitter because a beautiful journey ended but sweet because of the memories it gave us. The whole episode I controlled my tears but the flashback scenes when Dev holds his son and that was it, tears started flowing freely seeing the journey Dev and Sonakshi went through and we as vieweres went through as well.

I had joined the forums way back but this show and the amazing writers here compelled me to share my views as well for the first time. Thank you everyone for some amazing life lessons through your posts. Thank you to the channel and makers for giving us this lovely show. And big thanks to the cast for living the roles. Apologies if anyone has been offended at any point of time because of my posts.

Here's wishing everyone a lovely future. All the best. Do not know whether I will post something again on the forum but it's been a lovely journey.

Adios

24th August 2017 - Thursday (Final episode of KRPKAB)

It was indeed a happy ending. I felt that there were lots of little more stories that the Creatives had in mind about the Boses and Dixits which were finally kept aside due to the abrupt end of the soap. 😊

Nevertheless, I was impressed with the mother-son duo bonding shown which was akin to what was the opening scene in the soap. The linking was fabulous. Whatever a father yearned to give his newborn was understood by his parent. Ishwari was at her best here. šŸ‘

The anxiety of Bijoy which rubbed on Dev later was also a well written scene. 😃 Vicky finally makes his way to his home and realised that family is priceless. Overall, it was a feel good episode though albeit the final one!!

I want to thank Sam and @thedramaqueen for opening this thread and giving me an opportunity to write and express my views opening. I congratulate all the writers here for their various perspectives of the characters and events in this serial which made KRPKAB an interesting watch and the journey so wonderful. I hope that we all do meet again in this forum to enjoy another journey together.

Good luck and till next time...

So the perfectionist wasn't broken for Bijoy but it was for Sonakshi and that did help me ease into towards the end.
I think Vicky and Elena's coming back was done tastefully. Dev always enjoyed Vicky's presence whenever he could especially in the first season during his break up. Even though Vicky harboured ill intentions, Dev was genuinely looking for support in his brother. Today the love inside him for his brother won over all the misgivings and I am pretty sure if there would've been time, the track would've been explored well within the depths it had before Vicky and Elena would've been welcomed back.

The ending gave me so many chills but also made me smile and feel the feelings that this show had always given after the episodes that made it special. The perfect ending. The ending didn't make me sad and it was a perfect closure to the show in a lot of ways. Obviously would've been amazing if we've gotten the month that was given to beyhadh.

The only thing i didn't like was that the sisters weren't present. I wish they all including Laksh, should've come in as well to meet the baby. That would've been a perfect picture.

Can't wait to start rewatching the show on Sony now. Hopefully not all the episodes have muted background score.

ALSO They played the full original background score and that was so goooddd!!
