You know, I should be sentimental and depressed after watching this episode... But, instead, I am so damn excited for what's coming next...
Seriously, the episode was fantastic...

And, the time for metamorphosis of Dev Dixit and Sonakshi Bose has come...

I guess, Dev is slightly closer to the completion of the process.. Ishwari has played her cards nicely but what was pleasing for me, was how Dev still had his brain during the conversation..

What I also liked on how Ishwari was forced to accept her role, partially, in the separation of Dev and Sonakshi... Of course, the way she accepted them reminded me of the time that she accepted her role in the prenup... It is the tried and tested way for her through which she absolves herself of her crimes and misdeeds...

I also liked how she, then put, the blame back on Dev's and Sona's shoulders on the failure of their marriage... And, hence, she validated her views on the incompatibility between Dev and Sona... Yet, according to her, it is her magnanimous nature that she has decided to allow Sona to be back in Dev's life (In other words, she tried to once again play the role of God in her son's life)...

If this was the old Dev, as soon as he would have heard Ishwari ready to accept Sona back into his life, he would have jumped up in delight... But, this time, he resisted that instinct, and decided to think of the consequences of his mother's decision... He understood that his acceptance to please his mother's wishes (no matter, that it coincides with his heart's desire) will have devastating effect on his daughter's life and childhood...

(At the same time, he also said 'no' to a remarriage, which was a relief...)

Ishwari's method (which worked after Sona broke her engagement and reinstated herself as her son's God) failed this time...

This forced her to give an ultimatum to Dev to either choose Sona (even though, she still thinks Sona is incompatible) or choose someone else as his life partner for her happiness and hence, getting rid of her burden of causing pain to Dev...

(Who said that she is not smart... She might be illiterate but she definitely understand how the world works..)

If he fails to do, Dev will lose the right to call her mother... (You will remain my son but I will no longer remain your mother)

[The only regret is that she said the words which I wished Dev to say to her... But, well... This serves the purpose too..]

In other simple words, she (in her haste to get rid of the source of her fears) has given Dev Dixit, the key to become Dev...

Because, for Dev Dixit, his mother's happiness is of paramount importance but for Dev, his biggest happiness lies in the happiness of his daughter... And, Dev knows that marrying either Sona or (especially) someone else, will cause his daughter to lose her childhood...

[Yes, the precap is as dramatic as always... But, I will not take it into account till I watch tomorrow's episode.. ]

On the other hand, Sonakshi's reluctance and her habit to hide her emotions and hence, becoming vulnerable has forced her to truly become Dev Dixit...

She has promised her father to never become attached to Dev once again (while logical, still I felt that she was the one who was more affected by her conversation with her father than Dev with his mother)..

According to her, Suhana is the most important person in her life and she can still remain a mother to her daughter, without having any kind of relationship (not even friendship) with Dev..

But, I still remember Soha's words to Dev, that how could her father keep her happy if he cannot keep her mother happy... And, now, the same words will apply to Sona...

And, hence, for Soha to remain happy, she needs both of her parents to not only love her but also love each other... So, yes.. Exciting times ahead...

Some other things which I really liked about today's episode...

1. Soha's decision to not win by cheating... She, through her very innocent gestures, gave an example on 'how a child can guide their parent to the right path'...

You don't need to yell or need to sacrifice your own happiness to keep a parent happy and satisfied (A lesson to both her parents and her uncle)... You need to show them where they are going wrong and stand by what you believe in (your ideals and values)...

And, a parent is indeed a special person for their children but this doesn't mean that they are perfect... They are also human beings and hence, like every other individual, needs to learn from their mistakes...

I am sure her words will benefit Dev and guide him to become a better individual and a better parent...

2. Sonakshi's decision to leave Suhana at her father's home was a surprising one... While it showed immense faith in Dev's capability as a father, it also showed how vulnerable she becomes when she has to deal with her feelings associated with Dev..

Again, she did the same thing as Dev did (after their confrontation when Dev saw Sona and Jatin at the coffee shop)... She decided to escape the house as soon as she felt uncomfortable, leaving her daughter behind...

But, at least, she enforced her right as Soha's mother and hence, her place in Dev's life (i.e, is irreplaceable or permanent)...

3. Bijoy's false pride and ego came into light when he decided to leave his home simply because his children doesn't agree with his decisions or perspectives...

If Saurabh's way of confronting Bijoy left a sour taste in my mouth, then Bijoy's decision to stop considering (even, temporarily) Saurabh as 'his son' and Jatin as 'his better son' simply, because he feels that Jatin's agrees with all of his decisions (and Saurabh's doesn't), had the same effect...

I could empathize with Bijoy's over-protective nature as a father who had witnessed his daughter's tears and agony... But, the way that he emotionally blackmailed his daughter and made her promise to never listen to her heart reminded me of why I dislike Ishwari so much...

No wonder, his wife doesn't tell him everything since he hasn't learnt the ability to listen and understand other's point of view... His eagerness to return to Kolkata reminded me of the times when Ishwari left her home to go to the temple (after she came to know about Sona's infertility truth)..

But, what disappointed me the most was how both Ishwari and Bijoy, in order to remain at their pedestal in their children's life, didn't once even think about the effects of their views on their granddaughter...

In some ways, I also felt that that none of them (Ishwari and Bijoy) deserves the respect and the affection that their respective children (Dev and Sona) shower on them.. Their children sacrificed their own happiness because of their attachment towards their parents.. But, yet both of these don't realise that their stance has caused so much pain in their children's life..

(Yes... Bijoy is right that he shouldn't be compared to Dev, not because he believes himself to be a greater and superior than Dev but because, no human being is same and hence, they needs to be accepted with their strengths and their flaws..

But, when it comes to being a good person, Bijoy is slowly, but surely not only losing my respect as a father but as a person as well...)

4. I guess, for at least two persons (or definitely, one i.e GKB as well as Vicky, even though he is not happy with the choice of the bride for his brother..), the upcoming times looks like a celebration time..

In fact, I absolutely loved how GKB is already in the pursuit of finding a puppet, to remain in control of Dev's and Ishwari's life and hence, continue her reign..

But, I have only have one thing to say to them, that 'people whose homes are themselves built of glass, shouldn't throw stones at someone else's home... Otherwise, they are the ones who end up being hurt...'

This episode has pushed both Dev and Sona to stand on the crossroads where they need to decide whether they will continue to remain Dev Dixit and Sonakshi Bose and hence, put their roles as the son (of Ishwari Dixit) and daughter (of Bijoy Bose) as the most important part of their identities...

Or, will they gain the courage to embrace their roles as the father and mother of Suhana and her happiness... Hence, accept their true selves as Mr. Aubhodro and Ms. Khargosh..

@Harryfan... love your post. Definitely, agree with all of it.
I am not so frustrated with Bijoy now because I do sort of understand where he is coming from. I think one of the main themes of the story is how coping mechanisms from trying and traumatic circumstances stay with people and color future circumstances where those mechanisms aren't necessary.

Ishwari and Dev were in survival mode when we first met them even though they didn't need to be. They weren't focussed on personal happiness but how to ensure their family survives. After going through trying times, Bijoy and Sona have also picked up those traits. What Bijoy is doing may be unwarranted... but he believes that that is his only option for the survival of the family. If Sona goes back to Dev and everything falls apart again.. can the family survive it? Any sense of personal happiness Sona derives from Dev surely can't be worth the families survival? In Bijoy's mind). So Sona is now in Dev's position from S1. She feels responsible for the stresses her family has had to face (as Dev felt responsible for the stresses the Dixits had to face). The role reversal will truly help to get Sona to own her emotions as Sona not as Sonakshi Bose. I am also hoping that we see Dev own his emotions-- something tells me that even if he agrees.. he won't be able to go through with it.

This is just a guess and fun post based on precap.
In that when Sona asked what answer he gave Ishwari regarding remarriage, he did not tell what Ishwari actually told him. Instead he said "yes, I do need a life partner". I feel he is going to play with words. He will not say you are my life partner or that we should marry each other, but will worded it like he is thinking about marriage and want of companionship. He might not really say yes to the girl whom GKB or Ishwari suggests, but maybe start meeting(like what Dev did when he had created a profile for Sona in season 1) them. He might tell Ishwari that he will choose and he will first spend time with that person before agreeing to marriage.

It is definitely going to be fun. And am very happy that my predictions are coming true. 🤡 😈 🐷

I feel there are some opinions that bijoy thinks that the family will fall apart if sona loves dev and moves out... but honestly bijoy is anything but selfish. He is wearing his hardest shield to protect his daughter this time around - 3rd time right.

As far as bijoy saw in S2, he likes dev individually and will be happy if dev and sona get together and go nuclear or even live in bose family. But he strongly believes dev - ish equation is still the same as S1. I would not question his judgement- i too believed it is still the same. There are two ways to tackle this - sona has to be ruthless and not forgiving if she ever gets back with dev. Or dev has to actually find a way to balance his relationship with mom and sona. He can still be a devoted son and sona can still be a devoted daughter but they need to learn how to draw the line- more on devs side if they are going to live in ishwari nivas after remarriage.

Bijoy will be happy if dev can actually show that he can do this balancing act and can do what is needful to protect sona from ishwaris whims and wishes. What happened during infertility track still haunts me and i still cant bring myself to forgive dev reg how he treated sona at that time..respecting sona's individuality and choices doesnt mean that he needs to disrespect his mother . He needs to strike a balance and stand for what is right and not what his mom wants.
I believe this remarriage track is a golden opportunity for dev to do it. If dev can really show that he can stand for himself then i am 100% sure sona can convince bijoy as he is a reasonable man. But i feel at the moment, even sonakshi doesnt want to marry Dev - forget about what bijoy wants. Also bijoy only asked her to promise and tell the truth of their relationship and he did not ask her yo promise there will be no chance in future. I still like bijoy and he is the only person i can empathize with in the show right now and for ever.

From today's episode and the precap, I feel Dev and Sonakshi are at the place they were during Ritwick track with role reversal. Dev is in Sonakshi's place where she had agreed to go ahead with Ritwick's proposal and get to know him. At that time even though Sonakshi knew she couldn't love Ritwick, she still was ready to accept him as her life partner and spend her life with him. Dev on the other hand couldn't bear that Sonakshi was moving on in her life away from him and that there was nothing he could do about it(kind of). What I mean is he felt trapped between the fact that he couldn't go and ask Sonakshi to return as part of his life nor he was ok with the fact that she would be someone else's forever at that time.

When in tomorrow's episode he will talk about wanting a "life partner" for himself, Sonakshi will be in the exact same place as Dev was previously. She will not be able to stop Dev from planning to resume his life with someone else while will definitely not be happy with it.

On the face of it, it might seem like Dev is giving into Ishwari's manipulation, but I don't think it is 100% true. Her words did and will play a part in his decision to remarry, but it will not be the only reason. With Sonakshi accepting to leave IN taking Soha with her as soon as Bijoy told her has made Dev uncomfortable. He is once again not sure if Sona will stay with him or when she will decide to leave. What if Bijoy says that he doesn't like this weekly arrangement anymore and Sonakshi agrees with him. What is he to do then. If Sonakshi had given him confidence that she would stand by her decision then Dev probably would continue his trust in her. But after what happened and all the conversations ensued later, he is seeing things in a different light.

Right now Sonakshi has Suhana, a family and a really good friend. But who does Dev have. No one, not really. He might be living in a house full of people, but still there is no one he can call "apna". Even Golu is not his own, not in that way where he can ask with "haq". It is true that he loves Golu and excercises certain rights in his regard. But that is because Vickky and Elena let him for their own selfishness. He is truly lonely. In the past few episodes he did tell his true feelings to Sonakshi. She has snubbed him. Although he is sad that she did that is also in a place where he accepts that she may never come back. He wants to detach himself from his need of Sonakshi so that he can survive if and when she leaves.

The guilt of not being there with his mother when she needed him the most is also something that he now wants to correct. Taking all of these into account, I feel Dev might say yes to remarry, but may also say that he needs some time or spend some time with that person or will meet them or something like that. From his perspective it will be like I will give it a shot. Maybe my mom is right this time and even though I may not be able to love that person as I loved Sonakshi, still she will be someone I can trust and respect. She will be my "apna".

I am now very eager to see the transformation of both Dev and Sonakshi as Devakshi. 😃

Very nice post and I am reading yours for the 1st time. Are you new in this thread?

I agree with your views above, except the outburst of Saurabh. I am glad it happened. Sometimes, it's only your own children who can show you a mirror and say things in a straight forward manner. Especially for someone like Bijoy who has been constantly advised by Asha but he is now obsessed with the Dixit clan and possessive about Sonakshi. He has always been clear that she is a mini Bijoy and takes immense pride in saying it. Saurabh did it and wisely so. At least it brought out the insecure and obstinate side of Bijoy's character wherein he feels that he is perfect and hence always right!! His lack of interest in listening to criticism itself proves that if Sonakshi choses Dev in the end, Bijoy Bose would be on his knees making a confession about his mistakes!! But, unlike Ishwari he may not look at sharing the blame with the protagonists, but may agree that he could have been a better father.
