Hello everyone.I have a doubt and I would love the writers out here to help me get rid of it.This is pertaining to an episode which was aired quite some time back.
Dev's behaviour towards Ish was indifferent and sarcastic during the initial post-leap phase. He lashed out at her twice.Once after he learnt that Ish had met Asha in the market and secondly after he was beaten up by those goons. However this behaviour took a drastic turn as soon as Soha came into the frame.Even after knowing that it was Ish who sent away Sona when she had returned to Dixit House all he did was give a mild rebuke to Ish whereas he confronted Sona rudely even after knowing that she had made an attempt to return.I understand his anger towards Sona even after learning the truth because it was definitely a half-hearted attempt from Sona but at the end of the day it was a misunderstanding.Ish also had a misunderstanding since she was unaware that Sona had come with Soha.If he could instantly forgive Ish owing to the MU,then why couldn't he mellow down towards the mother of his own child ? It was definitely not because Soha called him Mr.Dixit because he had already behaved rudely towards Sona before that 'Mr.Dixit turning into Papa' track started.
I request please do reply if anyone has a valid and reasonable justification for this.I know I'm asking this very late but as long as I don't find an answer it would be very difficult for me to enjoy the present story.
Please do reply.

Are the CVs actually unaware of the term feminist or are they genuinely trying to bring in the average Indian 'innocently chauvinistic' male perspective out in open. Just thinking aloud🤓

The word feminist has long ago been distorted brutally hacked and murdered by some women for their own selfishness to mean women are always right. Even in the show Dev says the same thing. Previously you believed men and women are equal. Now you have become a feminist.

The cvs were not showing the mcp attitude . They were showing how the word feminist is being perceived nowadays. Not as someone who believes in equality but who believes in female superiority.

It has become the female equivalent of MCP

@lavanya...this is what I feel...I may be completely wrong as I consider myself diagonally opposite to Dev (that's the reason I like his character)...Dev's love for his mother is infinite and unconditional... even if she is at fault he readily forgives her...in the S1 he was completely shattered when he knew that his mom had send Ritwik's alliance to Sona...her reasoning was very trivial still he forgave her...the kind of blind love he has for his mom, he can't be away from her...his argument against Sonakshi is...though he loved her immensely she left him and went...for him if someone leaves in the middle, then they haven't been true to the relationship...this is exactly what he said when sona asks him "mein kabhi "apna' nahin thi?"...Ishu stayed with him in spite of his neglect...Dev is attuned and conditioned in such a way that family comes first so how can he keep himself away from his mother? I strongly feel he still loves sona but he is hurt hopefully his daughter's love will bring in the much needed warmth in their relationship and will provide him a solace and enable him to forgive and forget the pain inflicted by his wife...

Would like to add to what Chitra said. Dev cannot separate himself from his mother. This doesn't mean he is a mumma's boy (which a man can be and still be a good husband. In sona's defence, back when she called him a mumma's boy for the 1st time in s1 she didn't mean that being a mumma's boy makes him a bad husband. She was simply calling him someone who is very dependent on his mother.) or still sitting in her godi. The fact of the matter is, he has to take care of his mother's health and well being. He was angry at everyone till soha came in his life. Only because of soha he is now able to get up and move on.
He really isn't forgiving anyone. If anything he realises how much got lost over 7 years and he just wants to look into the future. This is similar to the 8 year old Dev. He didn't dwell on the fact that they are poor. Or that his mother has to face such hardships. He got on with it. The same now. He wants to look into the future and enjoy his life

The word and the social movement being mocked on national television does leave a bad taste. I am not sure how many women statistically bully or opress or in general be unfair to men. But I have certainly had more experience with the other way around.

I have had a more fair share of women using /displaying feminism in right spirit than the other way round. However the right spirit itself is mocked and perceived as a bias against men..oh the irony.
And please just ignore me. A Monday afternoon with lesser workload does it to me...

Does Feminist movement need a re-branding exercise? I think yes...

Hi Lavanya, very valid questions. This is my explanation.
Dev is a weak character - never fair and square. He is loving, caring, intelligent and has many amazing qualities but the one quality that has been inversely proportional to Sonakshi (and many women like her) is the weak versus strong personality, in matters of heart and family.
If Dev was a woman, he would not have left his sasural ever... because no matter even if he would have been treated as a doormat, he would cling on to them. Self respect is zero for him when it concerns his mother. Good for him, but the biggest concern is when you expect the same from your partner too.
For him, blood is thicker than water, he is a traditionalist in his following in that regard. So what he couldn't do for himself and Sonakshi, he might do it for Soha now, because it will be his blood talking this time.
He loved Sona dearly, but he has a loser persona and lacks courage outside his bedroom when it comes to managing his mother. This is my POV on his irrational behavior upon knowing the truth.
