Hi, I am back😊. I found that I wanted to write too many things, so I fused a lot of scenes into this. I hope it makes some sense.

It is interesting to see how the dynamics between Dev and Sonakshi are rapidly changing post leap. When they met for the first time, they both were wearing 'I don't care anymore' masks; whereas in reality, they have also lost a part of themselves in that separation and kept the hurt and emptiness only to themselves all these years. Dev lost himself in his bitter reality with how he manifested himself externally, which his his way of coping up ('mai sardi mein marna nhi chahta. Aag jalti rhegi to...aur janwar bhi door rhenge'). Whereas Sonakshi has lost herself in raising the tiny part of Dev that was left with her (i.e. Soha and she has also become somewhat like Dev 1.0, drowned in responsibilities).

Now when they come face to face with each other as 'strangers', the pain becomes even more unbearable. The 'tashan' fights are only to keep up the facade and inflict pain with the same coin. Of course, it not acceptable to react/fight like that in public in real life, but I found them heavily coded. In fact, nearly every dialogue and every scene has heavy undertones of various scenes of pre-leap; Dev's accident scene is one good example (There are many more, and I am loving these layered episodes.😳😊)

When Suhana's truth came out, all the hurt, frustration, anger and disappointment came out in the open. Dev's facade started slipping much before, as he is more emotionally vulnerable, first notable one when he heard Dr. Sonakshi BIJOY Bose. We see Sonakshi's facade slipping much later, in the summer camp, when Dev talks to Preeti about meeting 'her' after 7 years and more prominently in the 'I love you' scene. (Well, we have already got Sonakshi saying 'Tumi ekdom impossible' and 'Obhodro' post leap. I wonder when we would see Dev saying 'Because you are the best!' and 'Miss Khargosh'.😳)

Anyways, so finally they have admitted that it still hurts, but they 'hate' each other (if hate has so much passion, what about love?😉😆). It is a good sign, because to cure an illness one needs to first diagnose and acknowledge its existence. They have started talking but they are yet to see beyond their own hurt. Well, at least they are talking now, but their mind is still clouded with the negative memories. When they are finally able to smile at each-other's happy memories, they would truly heal; whether they get together again or are not together anymore. Maybe that is why Sonakshi doesn't remember Dev making sandwiches for her, instead him arguing with her when she asked him to do some chores.

I feel before deciding to sell Bose house and return the money to Dixits, Sonakshi should have discussed with Dev about how she felt about the entire thing and if possible convince him that this is the best solution; money should never come between any relationship. Also, Dev should have never hidden about her infertility or investment, because it was very much about her. He should have won over his fear to lose her in an attempt to make their relationship stronger and transparent. That is before taking any drastic step, they should have worked as a team, as they had decided in the car and many more times.

Even Neha-Ranvir went kaput because of the money issue. Dev had said he did not think Ranvir loved Neha because he could live without Neha whereas Dev went running to Bose house; he hadn't seen that 'spark' in Ranvir. I wonder, after living apart from Sonakshi for 7 years, if Dev would think the same today (For him, Suhana is a recent addition). Also, regarding his blames to Sonakshi, I feel at deeper levels of his consciousness he knows why Sonakshi left, for he had only told his mom 'To apki shikayat kya h? Ki usne rishta nhi nibhaya ya Jaan nhi di?'(Dev has certainly honed his taunting skills quite a lot🤣). He is yet to realize it and maybe he needs a push for that (like when he realized he loved Sonakshi).

The dumb-charades scene was very significant. Dev gets a chit for 'Dil Chahta Hai' and his gaze immediately shifts to Sonakshi, not Suhana. He is afraid that his mask would fall and their connection revealed, hence silences her. I find this in stark contrast with the scene where Natasha and Dev are about to have lunch at his office and Dev is humming a Bengali song (Episode - 70). The song is a Ranbindra sangeet - Aamaro porano jaaha chay, tumi tai - meaning You are exactly what my heart desires (*refer below). Then he had expressed himself even without intending to and now he seems to know what his heart yearns for, but he would not accept or express.

When Sonakshi saw 'I love you' on the chit, her strong walls of defense came crashing down. The words that bring hope and happiness would remind her only of sorrow and betrayal, and the worst part is she still cannot stop loving. Their unintentional 'I love you' brought all their emotions pouring down like rain. Hopefully, rain would cleanse the heart and bring in the sun. After that she could not control her emotions of care and worry (which were earlier dormant) as we see later when Dev steps to catch the snake himself.

They are slowly opening up their cards to each other, the fire rekindles. What's next?😉

* Note - "Aamaro porano jaaha chay" I feel this by Tagore is a complete Devakshi song, expressing both their feelings (Yes, I am Bengali😉). I was searching the soulful recording by Arijit Singh containing both paragraphs. So, here is what I found; links are below for anybody interested:

Thanks for reading and I would certainly share more if anything happens to pass my mind, simply because I love this thread and all the wonderful ladies here. 😊

Dramaqueen- I read your love language post and I liked that one too.
But for now with Dev's rudeness and his mirth when he sees another person in pain makes him a not very good choice for romantic partner.

Where's the guy who went through great trouble but finally got a sugar free cake for his employee's mother , where's the guy who sustained losses but saved a company so the employees don't lose jobs, where's the guy for whom his whole company woke up in the middle of the night to donate blood(during Sona's accident)... I can go on and on and on about what attracted me to Dev. But that guy is out of picture now. He has been out of picture since he broke up with Sona the first ... after that he has been pretty much a very ordinary guy who seems borderline MCP and now in season 2 he has come to hate'strong, independent, feminists' It hurts, coz I describe myself with these labels.. even my BF describes himself with these same labels.

Imagine if Sonakshi was bitter like him she would have taunted him forever for breaking up with her at first sign of trouble in the most abhorrent way.

right now I want to see equal if not more goodness in Dev. He can be bitter, ill tempered , etc.. etc..I will understand it. But if he behaves like he did when Sona was in pain, I will not applaud his heartlessness,
I feel CVs are trying hard to make us hate him ..eh..😈

I was also dying to see him feel the pinch the hurt which one feels when their loved one is getting insulted. He didn't feel it ..ever...for Sonakshi. it's getting exasperating as I understand goodness in good acts .

Lots of discussions have arisen here from spoilers, regarding Sonakshi and Suhana moving back into Dixit Mansion. I am not into spoilers so won't comment on this. But, the debate of who was right or wrong even after so many episodes, does reveal that this script is indeed different. How could Sonakshi walk out just because Dev thundered,"GET OUT"? How could Dev utter such words to his wife? So, it's back to the same debate. I loved the POVs of so many writers here who echoed my thoughts. 😃 When two friends fight, if they are besties, all is forgiven and forgotten. Chalta hain yaar, DIL pe mat le yaar etc etc. Here, Dev-Sonakshi are soul-mates. Yet, Dev thunders in anger after Ishwari is accidentally pushed (just like Bijoy was accidentally 😊 ) and Sonakshi catches Dev's collar in front of his family. Then he thunders "Get out!" and she obediently walks away!!! 🤣

I would have just walked upstairs to our room and closed the door and stayed put, till tempers cool down.

Anyways, too much water has flowed under the bridge, but the characters now are bringing out their bitterness about these past incidents. The significance of the time spent by the leads in the jungle is to probably reflect that these incidents were never forgotten by them and that's the reason why both of them have not moved on. They are still clinging onto old memories to confirm whether they were right or wrong. They want to be right, to console themselves that living apart for seven years was not their fault. Each one tells the other that if he/she had behaved differently, things would have been different. The dialogues here were meaningful and well-written. Sonakshi blames Dev for depriving her and him the happiness of a family, while Dev holds her responsible for it as she chose to walk out! Both are not willing to own up to their mistakes. Dev was blinded by his love for Ishwari, while Sonakshi's false pride made her take the unfortunate step. While Dev has accepted that his 'zindagi' has been empty all these years, Sonakshi has created a wrong halo of a happy family around her, which is likely to break very soon.

Interesting episodes ahead...enjoy the weekend.

Psychology fact - Anger is a natural defense against pain. When someone says" I hate you", they really mean "you hurt me."

After yesterday's episode I have pretty much made peace with the fact that Dev never went after Sona and the Bose family to check how they fared.( I still hope though) But he kept repeating the same thing over and over that it was Sona who left him. Sona and family leaving Delhi, the place where they grew up, worked and had contacts actually made a statement. Sona expected Dev to come after her. He always did. So what made him not do what he does this time around? It was the statement that she doesn't even want to live in the same city that he lives. Just like the Dixits came back to their roots making a statement to the society who hurt them, the Boses also went back to their roots.

There is a saying that a woman choose a partner like her father and a man chooses someone who reminds him of his mother. For Dev, Ishwari was not only his mother but he literally worshipped her. Same with Sona though not to that extend because of the difference in circumstances. But Dev could see the strength he saw in his mother in Sona and Sona saw the caring side of Bijoy in Dev.

The same characteristic that made them fall for each other is now causing them immense hurt. Dev acknowledges and appreciates subconsciously the fact that Sona just like his mother fought the adversities and has brought up their daughter wonderfully. But this same quality that made him trust her with his complicated family never materialized when it came to him. She never fought the world for him the way she fought for their daughter. This hurts him like hell and that is the biggest gripe he has with his ex-wife. What he appreciates in his daughter's mother is making him lash out at his lover.

Sona has seen the caring side of Dev all too well even before she became Dev's friend. All she ever wanted was to be included in that group. Their marriage became a war zone with Ishwari with more than a little help from GKB and her family planting land mines everywhere. Where Dev expected her to help him navigate through this avoiding the mines as much as possible, she made him pick each and every mine to disarm it and finally fell prey to the one that exploded. She never could understand why he was trying to avoiding these instead of facing it head on. But what she couldn't find in her husband, she saw it in her daughter's father. He overcame his fear of snakes which he had from childhood for his daughter. Even though Ishwari and Dixits made it clear indirectly that she won't ever be accepted as a Dixit if she is not able to give them an heir, she knew Dev never thought that way and accepted her as she was. She was able to go back with a six month old Soha only because of that. But seeing him willing to place their daughter his first and only priority, fight for her and work relentlessly to make her accept him makes her happy as Soha's mother but it also makes her frustrated with her ex-husband.

They now know that the other person is as much affected as they are. But they are unwilling to act on it because they don't trust that the other person cares as much as they themselves care. And now since the priority is their daughter they have enough means to interact with each other and don't have to go out of the way to create opportunities. Even though when they are alone with each other the lover's hurt comes to fore, if Soha's well being is under threat they will be a team. As much they are going to admire each other as parents it is also going to hurt the lovers in them and this bickering is only going to escalate. Added to that the frustration of being together but unable to act on it with all the sparks flying is going to create a mean edge to their fights. With Jothin still in the picture and Soha and Golu wanting them to be together I really hope the maturity of the parents take over the irrationality of the mean lovers before more people ends up hurt.
