In S1 Dev failed because each role or relation that he had to play kept competing with each other.Dev is so done with that.He failed miserably as a son ans husband because of just that.He is keeping all his relations separately and he is going to play them independently without making a mess out of it
Soha is very important to him.She isn't some bait for him to win Sona over. Its his daughter. We have to respect that without comparing his equation with sona into it.He will do anything and will be anything for her.He respects Soha's mother. He signed that guarantee papers completely giving away his rights for Soha's mother. He accepted responsibilty for losing those 6 years of being in Soha's life with some difficulty.Nevertheless he accepted. He gave up that 100 crore deal.If we are so busy in being outraged over that stupid balcony trick we would just miss the whole picture. He was preventing his ex-wife from sabotaging his attempts to win his daughter. He know his ex-wife can handle it.He intended her no harm(I can't believe iam justifying this). He knows that what he did would look very wrong before Soha.but he know that sonakshi will understand and wouldnt disclose it to Soha. He is not playing any game before Soha.I personally like the way he is dealing with this.If he is concentrationg on Sona for Soha then it would honestly be disrespectful to the two of them.I loved how he silently listened to Sona's scolding for not being careful about Soha.He was really not playing any game there.
I dont know. i prefer this.Let him first win Soha independently .Then let him dea with Sona

So is Dev Sona..They met they fell in love they got together they fell apart they met again what stayed constant here is their love :)

No offense thats just my take :)

Well Sjain - just to clarify here.. by fairy tales i meant the tales where everything is hunky dory, every thing is pink in love and the couple lives happily ever after!

Every love story is special, could be unique but not every love story is a fairy tale. Certainly Dev-Sona 's love story has not been a fairy tale, by any standards. Infact if they had treated it more pragmatically, then may be things would have been different.

Modern definition of fairy tales must have changed I am sure, but the pertinent point here is that whether it is traditional or modern, love stories involve two people and when they are wronged, there has to be an external force and not self destruction. In this case, Dev was to be blamed a lot more than Sona for the failure of this relationship. Dev and Sona have a complex relationship, contrived by the CVs (it is a TRP driven show after all). We can put all our analysis into it, but the fact remains that it is a realistic portrayal of a man and woman who were in love at some point and now in angst.
It is unfair to look for a knight in shining armor in today's times (especially unfair to men) but it is also unfair to expect women to keep bending backwards all the time.

This is my POV, no offense :-)

Of course he should win over Soha first but the unacceptable portrayal is the way he handles Sona in the process.

No one can dispute his pain or his love for his daughter but keeping Sona tied because she will interfere in his relationship building exercise with his daughter and at the same time hoping that Sona won't disclose it to his daughter, she will handle because she is a warrior princess is double standard at the worst and contradicting at the least isn't it?

Either my life experience is below average that I fail comprehend Dev or the makers have made a piecemeal and are trying to superglue Dev and Sona's relationship. The sad thing is they promised honest real show and I got sucked in :-(

I was actually amazed to see how so many of you thought Dev's words about his special love with pretty Preethi was meant for Soha😲 because I was quite sure it was meant for only Sona immediately when I heard those dialogs😆. Dev never stopped loving Sona but Sona's strong facade was making him nervous that he would be replaced. But her gardener story and her confession about "not getting remarried " gave him hope and he want to test that facade after knowing about Soha. He very well knows with Soha intact Sona is bound to him forever and that gave him extra miles to play extreme games with Ms.Bose to discover Sonakshi again 😳. Just like Sona sees Dev and Ishwari as single entity still, Dev is seeing Soha and Sona as single entity, for him winning over one is definitely going to bring him another too. So he is playing mind games with Sona whereas opening his heart to Suhana when we expected the reverse😆.

Though we can reason with Dev's actions, personally I felt CVs took the hand tying scene too far and it didn't go well with my version of Dev who gave that space to the same girl during that first confession and also who gave "thank you" instead of kissing when the same girl obliged. If holding back Sona to spend time with Suhana is the only reason, I would have even preferred Dev seeking pretty preethi's help to engage Sona while he spends time with Suhana😆.

With that said, I can't deny the fact that Sona was totally smitten to see Dev's proximity and this have given more boost to Dev and we are bound to see more ruthless acts in future as well till Dev breaks Sona entirely. Dev 1.0 had strong facade with everyone else except in front of Sona where he became a child and vulnerable, now expects the same from Sona 2.0😳. Bhudduram just doesn't know one breakdown of his will set ripple effect in Sona too, instead he has taken the opposite route of casanova and though it has started showing cracks in Sona, there is high chance of backfire with Jatin presence looming in the story😆.

Golu is an absolute delight and charmer in friday's episode. His persistent "Bigchi" and superman stories to impress his sister proves how much he cares for his BigCha and ready to share his space which he was solely enjoying for 6 years. Son earning good karma to negate his parents's bad karma? Future forgiveness ready for Vicky and Elena? 😉

Now can someone please shed some lights if these two smarty pants are really divorced ? Though both sides don't leave a chance to use "Ex" am curious why CVs are still leaving this in confused state along with Dev's side of story. There is definitely more story than meeting the eye and should appreciate CVs for keeping us in edge even after 270 odd episodes. KRPKAB is surely one of a kind😆.

Forgot to add:

Soha blindfolding Dev and Dev shooting the ball symbolisms that Dev's pure heart will make him reach his destination though he is blindsided by Soha's affection making him act ruthless and directionless😳

@bold..yes, exactly my point!!..

Btw Sia I love your posts when the show used to appeal to you, I so wish we get the show back on track for your liking too to read your brilliant writing again😳

Well done everyone..absolutey worth spending my time reading all the posts here 🤗
My thoughts about episode little later..now my kids chasing me for "Life" boardgame.

Hey Deeps, must say it takes great amount of effort to stay put in a show which throws you off multiple times in a week and then acknowledging fellow Forumites ane their dedication - kudos to you.

Yes indeed, Geena's post was great and her undying support for Dev Sona and the analogies made it for a very interesting read :-) more importantly, the analysis was not too far fetched 😉

I wish and hope that the old times could come back where I can connect and feel good about the show one more time and feel challenged enough to start writing again. I watch it because I love the lead pair (Sharica) and ship for them, but Dev 2.0 literally throws me off every single time these days - the character doesn't match with my sensibilities (even as a flawed man).

Bolded - W.r.to this, here's a thoughtful version put forward by one of our members, Suchi (Username:CXYZ) in her blog Suchi's Rambles and I also felt the same on it.

Mar 06 KRPKAB Epi: Falling To New Lows!

One can wonder as to why did Dev sign away his rights over Soha? Was it a short-term, impulsive decision he took so that Ish's wishes to see Soha could be fulfilled? I don't think so. Dev loved Soha, he wanted to be with her as much as he could. He knew he would never harm his own child. Sole custody of his child was not something he was even thinking about & he had even said previously that he would never try & separate the child from her mother. For him, it was as simple as that & if all he had to do was sign some legal papers to prove that he wouldn't do what he anyway knew he would never do, he was ok to sign it.

Dev's act of signing the papers reminds me of this quote ...Sometimes You Have To Lose The Battle To Win The War'.
