I consider Ishwari to be one of the best characters introduced in a TV show. Complicated, shrewd, smart, but projecting an aura of innocence! As a mother and MIL, her role has been written with a lot of insight and depth. TV shows normally show a mother to be loving and caring and then a transformation occurs when the beloved son brings in his beloved. Here, the same situation is shown differently. There are scenes where one needs to empathise with her, but last night's episode portrayed a cunningness, which was not visible earlier. Her choosing to check in on Dev was only to figure out, if Sonakshi had managed to make any impact in his life. Though she was forced to thank Sonakshi, her reaction and a casual approach would have made Ishwari's heart jump leaps and bounds.
I wonder how the Creatives would make her understand her flaws. Seven years and her son's directness has not worked any wonders. How will Ishwari realise her mistakes? Full marks to Supriya Pilgaonkar for portraying this character with a lot of finesse.

I totally agree the character Ishwari is defiantly new to TV
I found that though Dev is very direct with her now tells her exactly what he feels , Ishwari does not realize his words like the first time he had a confrontation with her seven years back she has not realized what he has told her all she knows or has concluded that Sonakshi left Dev and that's the reason he spoke to his mother in that way
even now after seven years she makes excuses every time she either blames Sonakshi or the latest Asha but she has not truly realized her fault and its not that she does not want to
the day Sonakshi came to Dixit house and met Dev outside , Ishwari looked and seemed guilty
and one could easily say she knows that by talking to Asha it has made Sonakshi to come to Dixit place but Ishwari was not guilty no instead she was hurt and very disappointed with the fact that Dev stood and spoke to Sonakshi so according to Ishwari she is just tryint to illuminate all the problems in Dev's life so how will she realize she is doing wrong
Yesterday at first glance when she tells Dev she appreciated Sonakshi for saving his life but she also thought it was out of love but now she knows Sonakshi just wanted to return the favor
at that scene I thought Ishwari is playing at her game trying to let Dev know she has no problem with Sonakshi but then I realized she really was thankful to Sonakshi and saying the same to Dev she thought he too would now appreciate his mother
Ishwari has a deep illness or condition that goes way back when her husband died , yes she is obsessed with her love for her son , she helped in destroying his marriage but she has no idea about it
