"I read in the forum about a new character being introduced in the show. If that's how it's going forward, I would like the Creatives to show Dev in a different light. The saying goes,"If you love someone fiercely, let go. If the person loves you back, he would come back to you, forever!" Dev should not start acting like the lover pre-leap who insulted Ritwik, ruined their dinner date etc. He should act like Ajay Devgn in Hum Dil... 😃 Sonakshi needs to reflect whether she still wants Dev to be a part of her life forever. The choice should entirely be hers. "

I will really not be able to view a Dev who sabotages Jatin's business plans(like he did with Ritwik's loan) or acts like a jealous teen. Ek baar kafi hai.

How I had wished for matured talks... Sona letting off her steam of how she felt totally insulted/vulnerable/outcast at Dixit house, etc... and then Dev with whatever it is(honestly I still dont understand what he expected of Sona after he insulted her so badly... but theek hai jo bhi hai wo bole)

Although the new guy is quite easy on the eyes. i wouldn't mind him around Sona.

Hope Dev will not comment on Sona's character again.

and i hope i was convincing enough.. why i believe both have their share of reasons for anger..

In the car on the way back from Shimla, he promised her that he wouldn't let anything else come between them, and asked her to promise that whatever problem came up, they would face it together as a team, and she did -- and he believed her. Now post-slapgate, the issues arose because Dev followed the letter of that promise and expcted the same from Sona, but ignored the fine print, i.e. Sona's emotions. And I think the reason Sona's reactions confused Dev so much was that she never expressed the emotions that drove her decisions in that moment before. She had just begun to open up about the pressures from her family in that same car ride back from Shimla when she cited "Baba ke questions" as one of the main causes for her anxiety. Expressing that her family was not totally perfect, that they too put a lot of pressure on her, was a big step for Sona in the direction of solidarity with the unit of Dev and Sona, but it was only the first step.

Because she kept her relationship with her family hidden from Dev to a large extent, both before and after marriage, Dev had very few glimpses of Sona, the overburdened daughter. Not only did she shoulder the financial responsibility of her family, she was also expected to uphold its pride and values. That is why she was in such a hurry to gain Ishwari's approval: she wanted her relationship with Dev and his family to be one that her family could be proud of; she had to make her baba's compromise worth it. But she never let Dev in on this side of her struggle, and Dev continued to see Sona and her family as people who were above pettiness and pride.

That is why he was shocked to find them reacting the way they did to the GKB and Ishwari's accusations of theft. Unlike his family, who he knew were loud, dramatic, and clueless about business, he thought the Boses would handle this calmly, being educated and aware that an investment was not charity, nor had he "given" them money. That is why he asked Baba why he was making such a big deal about a simple misunderstanding. He had learned his lesson from the returned car, and tried to find a way to be there for Sona in a way that wouldn't hurt her pride. He didn't expect it to backfire in such an ugly way, nor did he anticipate Bijoy's unadulterated rage; that was something Sona and Asha largely protected him from before. Asha tried to do it again when Dev showed up to apologise after slapgate, but he finally got to see Bijoy in full force.

All in all, Dev ended up feeling like he didn't know the woman he had married at all. She only showed him the side of her that wanted to make their relationship work no matter what, and was willing to do just about anything to gain his mother's approval. She seemed to be a permanent resident of the high road, so when push came to shove, he expected her to remain there and support him through his difficulties, but she pulled the rug out from under his feet with the emotional overreaction to the whole 5-crore fiasco, and a fierce loyalty to her family's pride that defied the promises they had made to each other. She made a similar move during the first break up, when she promsed she would stick with him even if he left her, and the next month, he found her laughing merrily with Ritwick. It was not until their confrontation in the office that Dev understood she still loved him and would drop everything in a second if he were at liberty to be with her. The way she explained it, in his absence, she chose this path to make her parents happy. Again, that is why he was so confident that she would come back to him as soon as he got Ishwari's approval... becasue she said so herself, and he took her at face value.

Sona expected certain things to be givens in their relationship, but as DQ said, Dev had zero EQ and I think things needed to be spelled out to him in the most blunt terms. He did not have the capacity to just pick up on Sona's emotions, and the fact that she had a tendency to keep them under wraps made it all the more difficult for them to communicate. According to her, he had already broken the promise when he lashed out against Bijoy, but according to him, she broke it when she cut off communication and made the decision to pay back the five crores. Problem was that they made promises, but they never made the effort to understand how their interpretations could be vastly different.

Just saw the new entry, and I have no issues with more eye candy on the show. It looks like they are following S1 quite literally. Natasha made her entry not long after the accident! So do we get a lovelorn Dev who tries to keep it all inside because he doesn't feel like he deserves Sona/can't compromise his ego once Jatin is in the picture?
